12 monkeys and Helix is still going on. They have another show that is coming which called The Magicians and 2 other decent shows that are still ongoing. So I'll say their still going on strong.
Eric Nick That may be so, but I've had a major fallout with SyFy, since they cancelled both Legend of the Seeker and then Dominion, just as they were getting really good.
I am watching a pattern here. How is our new syfy show doing ? - Sir, it got high rating, it is a fan favourite and just ended its latest season on a cliffhanger! Good, lets cancel it then !
Oh BSG...still my favorite television show. I tried to explain to my non-sci-fi loving friends that it was so much more than just humans versus robots. It had complex themes and just wonderful writing. The sci-fi aspect was just a backdrop for truly relevant stories. This is a show that I will always go back to and re-watch.
Saw an old interview with ... forget his name ... Admiral Adama anyway. He said he'd be in the show if it remained about humans. If they ever brought in an alien, he was going to fall down, have a heart attack and be written off the show. Was a great demand that really paid off.
I hope Dark Matter will one day make it's way on such a list. It is very vell done and it's story has always some surprises in store, it will never get boring even for a split second with that many twists. Also Will Wheaton plays an awesome role towards the end of the first season and it looks like he will play a major role in the next season.
Providencenl yea true/ i just see sg atlantis to be a bit more realistic or what eva / wich i think sg1 tried to be in the latest seasons where they kinda tried to make explanations of how the thinks work. but with atlantis there where explanations from the beginging. and not to meany op shite
And now I'm crying. Sanctuary was one of my top most favorite shows and I'll never get over how they just cancelled it and I'll never know what happened. At least with Warehouse 13 and Eureka they wrapped it up. But damn, I miss those shows. Two of my all-time faves.
It was great but it's hard to narrow down!!! There are so many!!! Alphas, fringe, defiance, and I know I am missing more. They just cancel it so freaking quick while letting freaking lost girl-good but not the same category, and such run on forever.
I agree, back in the 90's Friday, in my apartment was SYFI Friday. refused to leave the house to go to the club. My friends knew not to bother me Friday nights. Had to watch my Farscape
Tom McGraw FOX....the network that continually orders Sci-Fi shows, dumps them in shit time slots then cancels them before they can get on their feet. Firefly, Dark Angel, Sarah Connor Chronicles, Almost Human, Brimstone, Terra Nova, Wonderfalls (not scifi but still great).
+BetterLifeAhead Dark Matter is better than Killjoys (though I stopped watching Killjoys after the first 3 or 4 episodes so it might have gotten better). I still think the Warehouse 13 was the best they had though
Killjoys and Dark Matter have become some of my favorite new shows to watch. For me, Killjoys is better than Dark Matter, but I love watching them in tandem on Fridays. The Expanse is pretty cool, somewhere in-between the two.
I'm not sure I'd say one is necessarily better than the other. They both have their strengths. I see the distinction as more a matter of taste. Some people think 2001 is the best scifi movie ever and all I can think about is the monkeys and the rainbow ending. I'll take Star Wars (even prequels) or Star Trek (even Nemesis, but I'd be hard pressed to ever like Insurrection), so I prefer Dark Matter.
Joel Eustice Sssshhhhh! It is forbidden to talk about... about... The-Second-Spinoff-Which-Shall-Not-Be-Named. SG-1 was great, Atlantis was great aswell, what came after are the dark times. We must not speak of it.
Fun fact, Warehouse 13, Alphas and Eureka took place in the same fictional universe, there was a major episode in Warehouse 13 where Eureka characters were trapped in the Warehouse, with a Eureka episode where Claudia from Warehouse 13 was featured, the Alphas connection is more subtle, but there, the Warehouse doctor, or main character Artie Neilson's love interest early on makes an appearance in the Alphas episode 'Never Let Me Go' if I remember correctly. Too bad Alphas ended so soon as we might have seen characters from Warehouse 13 and Eureka come back there. This might have been an attempt to have a sort of television universe like the MCU is. Other examples of this include all 3 of the CSI's, Law and Order and Law and Order; SVU, and In Plain Sight and Law And Order Criminal Intent. And Warehouse 13 is the ONLY show that I remember to shock me with events and reveals multiple times, I didn't watch it much near the end (up to the point that Artie reveals the time travel to save the Warehouse after the previous season's finale, after that nothing), but at least it got a short final season. I really wish that SiFi would go back to shows like these as I could never stomach shows like Helix, KillJoys may seem like something I'd possibly watch. At least Ghost Hunters is still there I think. Though The Librarians on TNT is kind of a Warehouse 13 successor.
Dark Matter, Killjoys, Continuum, and Lost Girl are all Canadian shows that have been imported. They've aired around the same time, but they've all started their life on a Canadian TV channel. That may be why none of those were featured in this list. I believe every show in the list had completed it's run by the time the list was created, with the exception of a couple of the honorable mentions.
+Randy Anderson No, It's not because they're Canadian, case in point Sanctuary, Stargate Atlantis, and Warehouse 13 are all on this list. For Dark Matter and Killjoys, this list was published on the exact day their 2nd episodes aired of Season 1. You can't judge an entire show after only seeing just it's pilot episode. Also, all 5 of those shows have always been picked up by both countries networks at the same time, having dueling partnerships on Syfy (US) AND Space (Canada) since the the start of their 1st seasons, not just only on Canadian TV; Hence, Syfy branding them as "Original Series".
I remember SyFy having that Alice (2009) movie that aired as a two-night event. It’s such an important part of my childhood and remains my favorite version of Alice in Wonderland, especially since I was never a fan of the original story. It’s available on UA-cam so you guys should watch it. It’s just one of those movies that are fun to watch, mindless enough to enjoy and yet it has enough substance and continuity to leave you wanting more!
not that much direction with it though like zombies in space one episode, ditched, some fillers filled with nothing happening... idea of AI takeover never going anywhere
Chiko was here They had great movies? Their movies tend to be horrible. Their mini-series like Tin Man, Alice in Wonderland, Battlestar Galactica, tend to be great.
My favorite shows on Syfy are: Stargate SG-1, Stargate Atlantis, Stargate Universe, Alphas, Eureka, Sanctuary, Being Human, Warehouse 13 and Star Trek: Entreprise and Farscape. I also liked the Dresden Files and my #2 favorite Battlestar Galactica
The original was just...painful. But the re imagined series was better. There's just something so fake about 70s and 80s acting that feels so...well, fake. And forced. Star wars was different though, somehow. It had decent acting , and great special effects. As well as a decent story line.
I didn't start watching Eureka until the 3rd or 4th season, but once I did start watching it I didn't stop. Syfy channel used to have such good shows, it was once my favorite channel.
Special thanks to our users mac121mr0, the man, Dallas Terry, Jared Carter, JDN22, Sinpansara Gaming, Eduardo Lalo Padilla and Andrew Ward for submitting the idea on our Suggestions Page at www.WatchMojo.com/suggest
Matt Holmes Best was the jet pilot in "Independece Day",flying an alien fighter into the mother ship. While the math wizard, Jeff Goldblum sends out autodestruct codes that make calamari out of the space squids."I have got to get me one of these!...
Sanctuary is still one of my favourite tv shows and I would've totally put it on first:P Also I love SG Atlantis (and SG-1 oh man) so I was really happy these shows didn't only get an honorable mention!
Anyone else notice that in these shows they're always saying "Welcome" ? "Welcome to the sanctuary" "Welcome to warehouse 13" "Welcome to Eureka" I'm just glad Game of Thrones didn't appear on the channel. "Welcome to Game of Thrones."
This brings me back memories of the great shows I enjoyed. I have always wondered why The Witches of East End and the Secret Circle were not moved to Syfy when they were each canceleld.
First of all, Stargate: SG1 should have been on this list. Secondly, this list should have been called 'Top 10 SyFy shows made in Canada, except for Farscape'. Let's face facts, the top 3 SyFy shows are: Battlestar Galactica, Farscape, and Stargate: SG1.
Steve -O Sanctuary wasn't a Syfy original either, it wasn't originally created for Syfy but they brought that show over to the network, as well. If they can include Sanctuary on this list they can include Stargate SG 1. By the way, Syfy and Showtime are both owned by Universal.
theylied1776 Santuary started out on SyFy's website as webisodes. When the webisodes proved popular, it got turned into TV. If WatchMojo had limited it to TV where the show got its start, then Sanctuary would have been out. Stargate SG-1 is owned by MGM and not Universal. MGM doesn't own it's own TV channel so it leases its shows out to other stations for airing.
Sarah Davis You might want to check your facts because one of the three owners of MGM is Comcast, which also owns SyFy. Why do you think Universal/MGM share a theme park in Orlando? They have a mutual owner. Check the Distributor for Stargate the movie, and the production company for the Television series, and it's MGM/Universal distribution. Showtime is owned by Comcast, which owns MGM/Universal. Stargate SG-1 was made in Canada on the same studio lot in Vancouver as every SyFy show, except for Farscape, which was shot in Sydney, Australia. I stand by my comment.
Syfy movies may suck for the most part, but their series have always been amazing! They really know how to deliver on the TV Show front! Love all of these! I can't even pick my favorite because they are all fantastic in their own rights! The one I grew up watching though was Farscape! Have a special love for Helix and Eureka because I am more than anything a scientist and love seeing shows with strong science storylines! But I have always enjoyed fantasy, and really loved Sanctuary and Warehouse 13! So yeah, can't really choose a favorite on this one! Anyone that has seen all of these shows might understand my dilemma!
Here's my personal favorites: Farscape, 12 Monkeys, The Invisible Man, Stargate SG1, Stargate Atlantis, The Outer Limits, Tripping the Rift, and Battlestar Galactica. I would also like the shows First Wave and Andromeda. I would love to put Doctor Who here, as it is my favorite Science Fiction franchise of all time, but it moved to BBC America, and is technically a BBC show. I am also looking forward to Incorporated, Aftermath, and Channel Zero premiering in a few days. Have a good one!
I really loved The Dresden Files and I read about 9 of the books. I wish the show hadn't fallen apart, even if it was... poorly designed to be just 45 minute stand-alone stories rather than a continuous plot-line, like it should've been.
Defiance!!!! I got no time to invest into the others. I felt the investing into the series and game was enough. Shows tend to go on long. Imagine being the guy that watches over 60 shows at a time and 20 of them get cancelled. Sucks to be that guy who knows all those characters and stories then poof... cancelled.
***** Holy shtako that season 3 premier was freaking hardcore. Beecher has gone completely nuts. Can't wait till tonights episode, will they blow up the arch?
heres my list ..... dese are all a must watch series .. show name - no of episodes 1. once upon a time in wonderland -110 2. grimm -110 3. vampire diaries -154 4. lost -121 5. supernatural -227 6. the originals -66 7. true blood -80 8. vikings -29 9. rome -20 10. the black sails -18 11. the flash -46 12. teen wolf -70 13. witches of east end -23 14. THE EXPANSE!!! 2015! Stargate all the way. And BATTLESTAR GALACTICA and CAPRICA! But yeah, Defiance, Alphas, Eureka, Sanctuary and Helix. I agree with this list.
Farscape and the remake of Battlestar Galactica..and I loved Caprica, too!. My hands down faves, and I am a trekker/trekkie since ST:TOS started when I was a teen. If I had to choose one, it would be Farscape, probably the most imaginative and innovative sci fi show ever! Thanks for this video!
Defiance was much anticipated, and after much of the first season made that anticipation worth-while, but somewhere at the end of the first season things took a strange turn that never really got back on course for me. I didn't like the way it went and stopped watching, finally picked it up again post-production but I still didn't like the way it went. I hate it when writers and/or production companies try to put an artistic flair to the story plot and end up ruining an otherwise good show (I still liked the cast and thought all did a marvelous job), why didn't they just stick to the style that the pilot was set in.
***** Basically, it is quite literally EVERYTHING The Walking Dead isn't. It is literally made by The Asylum, the production company that makes mockbuster films (ex. Transmorphers, Aliean vs. Hunter, Abraham Lincoln vs. Zombies)
I was addicted to Warehouse 13 for a while, it was so original and interesting. I stopped after the fourth season though lol I also have been wanting to watch defiance but idk
the thing about Defiance is if stuff happens in the show it happens in game and vice versa, there have been contests to have your game avatar represented in the show as well
Is this the one where the only competent person is the military guy that got killed by a newborn baby on the first show? If so, that is exactly why it was the ONLY show I watched of this. Maybe the rest of the series was good, but an extremely experienced military guy gets killed by a newborn zombie. Nope, blew my mind way out of reasonable suspension of disbelief.
I'd add Lost Girl as that's all I watch on SyFy (I'm WAY behind though as I haven't even started Season 3). But then I forgot that it originated in Canada's Showcase channel and that would probably make as much sense as calling various anime on Toonami and Adult Swim (Dragon Ball, Zatch Bell, Fullmetal Alchemist, Naruto, Cowboy Bebop, Inuyasha) a Cartoon Network show (pretty much why they won't put SG-1 on the list).
What about Lost Girl, think that should have made at least an Honorable Mention, the thing I don't like most is successful series like Eureka , Warehouse 13, SGU, all cancelled before their time, at least they let Eureka and warehouse 13 finish up their storylines, unlike SGU left us with a cliffhanger and still waiting to find out if they'll ever say what happened.
don't know if I would agree I found it a little uneven(really good at times and really not so good at times), but at the same tie not many other hardcore sci fi shows come to mind so....
BGS is not Hardcore SciFI. If you want hardcore you need to watch The expanse there you have the most realistic physicx and future technology. Nonetheless BSG is my most favorite series ever
Nef22 Really? It's a pure Hardcore Sci-Fi with advanced technology like Artificial Consciousness (Cylons) . Every episode tell you the meaning of human beings life / humanoid (Cyborgs) , and they explain the concept of politics, religious belief, philosophical issues and the Military (High Rank Elite) . If you want to talk about the spaceship battle, you will never see this type of battle in others Tv Shows. In philosophical issues, BSG weaves truly big ideas as opposed to merely interesting ones, like the effects of time travel-deeply into the story lines of each episode. From age old questions of free will and responsibility to such cutting-edge topics as the bioethics of transhumanism, BSG seamlessly incorporates philosophical themes into the narrative structure and forces us to consider how we should respond to such issues. no show has ever matched BSG ability to examine the effects of religious belief on politics, society, philosophy, and human (as well as humanoid) civilization. The religious themes in BSG are complex and often confusing. The humans are polytheistic, believing in a number of gods that are connected with Greek and Roman mythology while their humanoid enemy, the Cylons, are monotheistic. What makes the series interesting from a religious perspective is that the beliefs of each of the two groups (as well as the subset of agnostics as atheists) have serious implications. Almost every major character has strong religious convictions that shape not only their own individual destiny but the fate of all humankind/humanoidkind. In the military side, the structure and tradition from BSG is modeled loosely on the U.S. Navy, though it adds an intriguing level of gender-neutrality (e.g., living quarters are completely co-ed, officers of both genders are referred to as “sir”). This is characteristic of the show, for even when it falls back on clichés like pilots are cocky. While most shows about the military can’t even get the most basic details right (Marines with sideburns!) BSG goes to extraordinary lengths to achieve a level of realism. To sum up, no show on television has every captured the nuances of military culture like BSG. Although it may be a clever way for the writers to circumvent the basic-cable prohibition against profanity, it also adds a level of realism to the dialogue for in the military cussing is often used as a form of technical jargon.Battlestar Galactica reveals at the end that it took place in a prehistoric past rather than the future.
HC SF if am not mistaken refers to sci fi that is closely followed by current science. BSG as it is cannot be in that category solely on technology they use. For example FTL, gravity on the ship without rotation, explosions in space. If you consider this worthy of HC SF then Star trek, Star was and others are also HC.
Pretty good list. I would have switched 1 and 2, however. Farscape just went in so many different directions with so many creative, original ideas. More shows should definitely go to the Jim Henson Creature Shop for their alien creations.
I didn't start watching EUREKA until season 4 (because I heard there would be a W13 crossover). That turned out to be a really interesting jumping-on point: first off, by then it had become a well-oiled machine that knew exactly how to make the most out of its premise and its cast. Second, the time-travel shake-up meant the characters had plenty of reason to directly address their backstories in contrast to how their world had suddenly changed. I was surprised WAREHOUSE 13 ranked higher, even though I watched W13 from the start.
Great channel and I'm always watching 4-5 of them before I know it. Now that we have the television shows by the SyFy channel could you take a look at the original movies or other low budget science fiction movies that are surprisingly good or decent to watch.
Alphas got me interested in Syfy in high school, then Warehouse 13 got me hooked. Loved Dark Matter, binge watched it over the summer on netflix. Love the Magicians and Wynonna Earp looks interesting so far.
Wasn't Falling Skies in Syfy too? Might be mistaken. But Defiance/Falling Skies/Eureka/Expanse/Dark Matter/12Monkeys/BSG... Those are the shows that bring back good memories. Still waiting for someone to create somethin similar to Falling Skies. Was a really good one.
I'm surprised Syfy still has viewers tuning in, after cancelling so many good shows.
+DragonMasterThlayli Yea i had the same issue as you when they cancelled Alpha's
Legend of the Seeker originally aired on ABC, not Syfy.
***** Well, you learn something new every day. Still miffed that it only ran for 2 seasons though.
I am watching a pattern here.
How is our new syfy show doing ?
- Sir, it got high rating, it is a fan favourite and just ended its latest season on a cliffhanger!
Good, lets cancel it then !
I really loved Defiance and I hated syfy for cancelling the show.
100%. Defiance was rich with characters and world building, it was just so much fun to watch.
10 years later im still pissed off, and they won't put it on hulu, Netflix or prime.. and its such a great show
Warehouse 13 should never have been cancelled. It wrenched my heart out.
Dorothy B fun show
Dorothy B I agree
I loved it, too.
It was a blast, but lost it's steam towards the end. At least it gone out in sort of a high note.
Sy Fy is in the business of wrenching peoples' hearts out.

I watched Star Gate all time as a kid. Such nice memories.
CAMisterLadyOP7 i STILL rewatch stargate now and then. Such a great sci-fi series.
CAMisterLadyOP7 I have all 10 seasons of Star gate, and All seasons of Atlantis.
Providencenl sg atlantis i find a bit better
i kinda count atlantis as a part of SG-1 since its story lines are so entertwined :)
Providencenl
yea true/ i just see sg atlantis to be a bit more realistic or what eva / wich i think sg1 tried to be in the latest seasons where they kinda tried to make explanations of how the thinks work. but with atlantis there where explanations from the beginging. and not to meany op shite

Eureka was the best show Syfy has ever put out period.
It was great but it's hard to narrow down!!! There are so many!!! Alphas, fringe, defiance, and I know I am missing more. They just cancel it so freaking quick while letting freaking lost girl-good but not the same category, and such run on forever.
I didn't start watching Eureka till the last 2 seasons, but I soon realized why it was so popular.
yes exactly
Eureka is prob my fav from SyFy as well. Watched the whole series with my ex and now it's ruined it for me 😓
I miss Farscape, such a unique show.
I agree, back in the 90's Friday, in my apartment was SYFI Friday. refused
to leave the house to go to the club. My friends knew not to bother me
Friday nights. Had to watch my Farscape
Yes what hilarious show and John Crichton one of the most memorable characters in TV.
Sci-Fridays were great. I miss those shows and the Sci-Fi channel. It is to bad they pulled the plug on the channel and replaced it with SyFy.
I watched it about a year ago, it was so fucking good.
MrGoatsy you mean so FRELLING good LMAO
Half of these comments are people getting mad about their favorite Sci-Fi shows not being on here, yet they aren't on the SyFy Channel.
Tom McGraw was firefly on syfy?
i just got the normal tv senders
manyfails Firefly was on Fox
Tom McGraw
a ok thx didnt know that
Tom McGraw FOX....the network that continually orders Sci-Fi shows, dumps them in shit time slots then cancels them before they can get on their feet. Firefly, Dark Angel, Sarah Connor Chronicles, Almost Human, Brimstone, Terra Nova, Wonderfalls (not scifi but still great).
Cindy Kohler also Futurama
I think Killjoys would be in the top 10 now. The first season was so good
+BetterLifeAhead Dark Matter is better than Killjoys (though I stopped watching Killjoys after the first 3 or 4 episodes so it might have gotten better). I still think the Warehouse 13 was the best they had though
+Sole Servitor The Expanse is way better than Dark Matter and Killjoys combined.
+Aidan Blackwood Dark Matter is better than The Expanse imo
Killjoys and Dark Matter have become some of my favorite new shows to watch. For me, Killjoys is better than Dark Matter, but I love watching them in tandem on Fridays. The Expanse is pretty cool, somewhere in-between the two.

Why are they showing clips from SGU while talking about Atlantis?
My thoughts exactly...
Joel Eustice Sssshhhhh! It is forbidden to talk about... about... The-Second-Spinoff-Which-Shall-Not-Be-Named. SG-1 was great, Atlantis was great aswell, what came after are the dark times. We must not speak of it.
Joel Eustice I noticed that as well.
Ozeneu10 What? SGU was brilliant. It was a great addition to the Stargate canon.
Joel Eustice I spat out my croissant
I watched two episodes of "Defiance" on TV and instantly got hooked!!!
I must watch more!!!

I like Defiance. I'd check out the pilot episode. As with most shows, it gets better with each season :)

Well is awesome
not that much direction with it though like zombies in space one episode, ditched, some fillers filled with nothing happening... idea of AI takeover never going anywhere
This video was posted in June last year, just three days after Dark Matter's first episode aired.
Dark Matter's Canadian, and to my knowledge has no relation to Syfy. Am I missing something?
Anonymous Doosh yes a lot
I'm glade Defiance got a little recognition, it's pretty underrated IMO. Also, that wasn't Datak, it was his son.
Defiance was the best show of its period.. still mad about it being canceled
Anyone else remember when they were SciFi and had great movies? They had a great TinMan and Alice in Wonderland remake. The channel itself was awesome
Chiko was here They had great movies? Their movies tend to be horrible. Their mini-series like Tin Man, Alice in Wonderland, Battlestar Galactica, tend to be great.
And now everything sucks. Shame
+Chiko was here I think they finally make a good series again. The Expanse was awesome.
Haha I just commented smth about Alice
the alice in wonderland remake was awesome i would of bought that back in the day... i forgot about it til now ty for the flashback
The Expanse?
released after this was made.
Right? How could that not be on the list? That's one of the best shows around period!
yeah, it's the best scyfy show I've ever seen.
Hal Effect This list came out before The Expanse debuted.
yeah if they remake this list then definitely put expanse in the top 3.
Sanctuary and MST3K and Eureka and Warehouse 13 and Stargate SG1 were my 5 first Syfy Channel classic shows on DVD.
I love Dark Matter...
Haven, Eureka, Sanctuary, Warehouse 13 and Stargate Atlantis!!! Yeah I agree!! It's five of my best favorite tv shows ever!
Eureka
seeing this list just reminded me about how many shows I got hooked on before they were untimely-canceled.
I loved Eureka. It ended fine but I loved it so I definitely wanted more!
So happy Being Human made it on the list, just finished watching it and I must say supernatural shows could really learn from this one
warehouse 13!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Deisy Bello watch the expanse
Haven is so underrated!!!
yes!!!
Rewatchin' it for my third time now
I always like Defiance. Along with Z Nation.
A good new show from syfy is The Magicians! definitely should've belonged on this list of it was out before this video was made!
Was looking for thus comment. Too bad The Magicians aired much later after this video was uploaded.
youre right it’s a good serie but i only watched the 1st and 2end seasons i thouht it was to complicated i loved the eps i watched tho
#1. Battlestar Galactica
SO SAY WE ALL!
Remcō Schedel watch the original
Remcō Schedel Battlestar Galactica was so fn gay.
The original was just...painful. But the re imagined series was better. There's just something so fake about 70s and 80s acting that feels so...well, fake. And forced. Star wars was different though, somehow. It had decent acting , and great special effects. As well as a decent story line.
Remcō Schedel SO SAY WE ALL
Bring back FIREFLY
Bring back FIREFLY
Bring back FIREFLY =))
***** Firefly was on Fox...
Fox won't so maybe SyFy will =)
***** that ship has sailed.
Fox started renewing it's hit shows. First 24, then The X Files, now I heard they're going to renew Prison Break... Don't lose your hopes...
***** BRING BACK FIREFLY
BRING BACK FIREFLY
I didn't start watching Eureka until the 3rd or 4th season, but once I did start watching it I didn't stop. Syfy channel used to have such good shows, it was once my favorite channel.

Richard Mahn Somehow the Who doing Pinball Wizard is a perfect soundtrack to this. Especially when I'm drunk/stoned. Joy and Glory!...
Lost Girl should be in honorable mentions at least
Mason Payne yes agree it should be on this it has been on for 5 years
Battle Star Galactica sure was a work of genius!
Warehouse 13, Atlantis, Farscape, Battlestar....truly absolutly the best sci-fi series(many legends like Startrek yeah..but these were sooo good)
3:42 was not Datak Tarr its his son Alak Tarr
Yip I picked that to
Farscape and Defiance are two of my favourite TV shows ever so I'm glad to see them in the top 10!
Haven is only a honorable mention? Well, I guess it's better than nothing. But I really like this show!
I'm so glad you mentioned eureka! It's one of my favorite shows of all time :)
Lost Girl! All day, everyday! Thank you.
The proper writing of SyFy is Syfy. This is reliable info.
Sanctuary is still one of my favourite tv shows and I would've totally put it on first:P Also I love SG Atlantis (and SG-1 oh man) so I was really happy these shows didn't only get an honorable mention!
I love the shout out Defiance gives to the Rush album 2112.
Farscape!! How I loved that show when I was growing up

Anyone else notice that in these shows they're always saying "Welcome" ? "Welcome to the sanctuary" "Welcome to warehouse 13" "Welcome to Eureka" I'm just glad Game of Thrones didn't appear on the channel. "Welcome to Game of Thrones."
I hate SyFy. I loved SciFi Channel. RIP.
Me too!
Let's face facts, the top 3 SyFy shows are: Battlestar Galactica, Farscape, and Stargate: SG1.
theylied1776 SG1 got its start on Showtime and ran for like 4 or 5 seasons there, it wasn't initially created for SyFy.
theylied1776 SG1 got its start on Showtime and ran for like 4 or 5 seasons there, it wasn't initially created for SyFy.
Sarah Davis
You might want to check your facts because one of the three owners of MGM is Comcast, which also owns SyFy.
Alphas was my jam…dang it Syfy and your randomness of cancellations also bc of the eureka and warehouse 13 crossovers I wanted a bigger world
Defiance as thumbnail, great choice. Great show.
BSG was Good , but i was sad they dint give proper ending to SGU
+ricky fernandes They canceled Caprica as well....
But SGU deserved a better ending. I believe they thought it would get another season to wrap up by SyFy cancelled very abruptly.
If this was recent, Resident alien would be on this list.
The Lost Room should have at least gotten a mention.
the only syfy shows I watched are Helix, Lost Girl and Dark Matter hahha you guys should do this for other networks as well :)
I miss Being Human. I'm glad to see it on here.
*"Killjoys"
"Dark Matter" and "The Expense"* are the best there is in 2018
You guys missed “The Expanse”! Best canceled SyFy show ever!
How is Lost Girl not even a clip for the vid? Honorable mention...? 5 seasons lead female character smh
Thank you!! I was gonna say something! Lost Girl was the best since Warehouse 13!!
twat
I agree! It's a good thing Netflix has all 5 seasons. They also have Haven which is also excellent.
Thanks for including Farscape, and ranking it so high.
I really loved The Dresden Files and I read about 9 of the books. I wish the show hadn't fallen apart, even if it was... poorly designed to be just 45 minute stand-alone stories rather than a continuous plot-line, like it should've been.
This made me miss Warehouse 13 and SGU so much more than I already do.
***** it,s a good show yeah
Defiance had a well enough conclusion. I'm not mad at all if it got cancelled.
No shtako!! I loved Defiance!

THE EXPANSE!!! 2015!
Stargate all the way. And BATTLESTAR GALACTICA and CAPRICA!
But yeah, Defiance, Alphas, Eureka, Sanctuary and Helix.
I agree with this list.
Lucas Hood i'm still waiting for the end of StarGate Universe
That moment when you are searching for new tv shows to watch, but you watched them all ...
I got so happy when they showed Z Nation... Too bad season 2 hasn't come out yet....
DeadlySkittles I was surprised with Z Nation, I thought it was going to be a cheap Walking Dead rip-off, but it was really good in its own right.
DeadlySkittles It will soon!!!:D though wtf is that trailer?
I do like TWD better but not gonna deny that Z-Nation is also entertaining
***** Watch it yourself, it's the best way to figure out if you like something or not.
BSG at #1? Frack yeah!
the thing about Defiance is if stuff happens in the show it happens in game and vice versa, there have been contests to have your game avatar represented in the show as well
Now it's 2017. Time to trim one of these off and put the expanse up there.
Trim off 2 and add Wynonna Earp to the top!
Love it, love it, LOVE IT! Warehouse 13 - Fringe - stargate - everything!
PontusMusic P Syfy Is stupid they cancaled warehouse 13 it was best show And most popular
Z Nation? Show some love for that show man! It's good!
+AJ YT “FTW” Abbott Finally! I had to search and search but no one in the comments has even mentioned Z Nation! Finally, something different!
No problem. I'll support Z Nation till im a Z, myself.
But then I forgot that it originated in Canada's Showcase channel and that would probably make as much sense as calling various anime on Toonami and Adult Swim (Dragon Ball, Zatch Bell, Fullmetal Alchemist, Naruto, Cowboy Bebop, Inuyasha) a Cartoon Network show (pretty much why they won't put SG-1 on the list).
nintendoboy17 lost girl should be on this 100%
Yeah exactly. Lost Girl is probably my favorite Syfy show. Next to Warehouse 13 and Eureka. Lost girl deserves a mention.
+Liv Maccaroon lost girl got annoying real quick for me. such a mary sue.
Unless I missed a memo on origin channel or something shouldn't Lost Girl be in here?
Battlestar Galactica is the best ever Hardcore Sci Fi Tv Show.......
don't know if I would agree I found it a little uneven(really good at times and really not so good at times), but at the same tie not many other hardcore sci fi shows come to mind so....
Are you zero cool from hackers?
Dont mean to be picky, but why use footage from Stargate: Universe when talking about Atlantis, let alone naming main characters?
Mentioning Defiance without mentioning the music. The score by Bear Mcceary is fantastic, and easily makes the show worthwhile watching.
Stargate Atlantis for life
I didn't start watching EUREKA until season 4 (because I heard there would be a W13 crossover).
I like Eureka, Haven and all Stargate. This TV Show is very cool!
Great channel and I'm always watching 4-5 of them before I know it.
Now that we have the television shows by the SyFy channel could you take a look at the original movies or other low budget science fiction movies that are surprisingly good or decent to watch.
I wish they hadn't cancelled Helix... it had so much potential.
I'm really glad it was cancelled
Alphas got me interested in Syfy in high school, then Warehouse 13 got me hooked. Loved Dark Matter, binge watched it over the summer on netflix. Love the Magicians and Wynonna Earp looks interesting so far.
I liked "The Dresden Files"
I wish haven got an actual spot it's so good. Also, continueum and Lost girl?
Haven was good shit. SGA was good shit. Battlestar was good shit. Warehouse 13 was good shit. Eureka was good shit. It was all good shit.
