This time I paid close attention to Rudy's dancing skills. His form was on point. He moved very gracefully on the dance floor. He had rythem, and he was well disciplined. He enjoyed this very sensual art form, and he excelled at it. Rudy was magnificent on all levels.
June Mathis mentored and looked after Rudy, seeing a real talent, where others at the time thought only of him as a dancer or some sort of frivolous gigolo. Like many people, I was only familiar for years, with this justly famous tango sequence, which put him on the map, so to say. But when you get an opportunity to view the entire film, as I did twice..you clearly see what screenwriters call 'character development'. (June Mathis made sure the FH script contained it)...During the film, we can see Julio transformed from a shallow, layabout libertine, to a dedicated soldier: brave, and strong, and truly admirable. There is even a scene where he recoils in horror at his shallow life, saying something like, "No wonder she is disgusted with me,". And resolves to change his ways...Which then takes this film, and Julio's character in a completely newer, deeper narrative direction.
I've never seen a clingier tango than that (she + both guys). Seems to me that's what made eyebrows go up and ladies swoon. Today I guess the catcalls would be "Get a room"!!
A compassionate tango dancer. Notice how he took care of the old man and told his sexy dance partner off. ive heard Rudy was like that in real life caring person no divo attitude

My favorite silent movie. This propelled Rudolph Valentino into movie immortality.
A classic scene from a superb silent film. One of my favorites. Check out those spurs on his boots.
This is IT - THE ORIGINAL music score , , it sings the dance and tells the story - all the way through the movie. Valentino - you left us too soon.

Another of my favorite silent movie scenes is The Temptress fight scene. The movie stars Antonio Moreno and Greta Garbo.Check it out.
I'm here because this scene was mentioned in Diana Palmer's 2021 book, "Notorious"
Any idea what the name of the track is or the composer?
+yota kountouri The composer is Carl Davis. I don't know the name of the tango track, but perhaps you can ask him on twitter.
