All of them are exceptionally capable musicians. I would love to see them write songs, not just improv. But I must say that their improvisations are also unusually rhythmic and musical. So many musicians end up "masturbating" when they step out to do their thing. That is to say, that they don't play with the rest of the band they just noodle around. The music remained funky, interesting and together. It would be hard to walk away from them on the street, but even just watching this short video, I have a funky rhythm running through my mind. This is the kind of thing that picks up my mood and sticks with me. The next time I get a lousy song stuck in my head, I will be searching for this video again!

I love that these guys understand that it isn't about how many notes you play, but owning every note and they own there notes pretty damn well.

Maybe bob dylan could slap a bass like that ( i don't think so) but who would you want to listen to? I've played bass for 30 yrs & can't slap for shit (although it's my favourite style) but I have written better "music" than this.
