Safety rating is definitely more important to me. I love your attitude about driver rating. I somehow moved up to a low B rating and have stayed there but usually way off the pace, gaining spots only thanks to the mistakes of others, at least when I don’t make a mistake of my own. 2:23s were my good laps at Spa this week so still trying to improve. Planning on upgrading to the LCM pedals soon. The main thing is having fun. Racing in VR is the closest to the real thing for me after years of dreaming about something this realistic. This old man’s loving it.
So many racers could do with you advice! Too often people dont like to be passed (even for p10!). I try to have fun and race clean... when you trust those around you to do the same is where the competition gets good... 😊
I ended up losing enjoyment once reaching A grade. Was much more enjoyable back in B. Now back in A and just enjoying finishing 5-10th and avoiding idiot hot heads.
Dont take your rating to seriously.. the stress is not worth it, just race your race. I dont even bother w quali, i race from the back and have fun. Its liberating!
SR is definitely more important! Thank you for sharing this. I can totally relate to how you were feeling about your change in race style. When I get in that headspace I like to turn off all the info, mainly on sprint races like this one. I feel it helps me focus on my own race, rather than lap times and position. It does help with immersion in VR and for some reason I have the best races.
Great insight there, I've had similar feelings when racing in A. Can be hard to go from starting in the top 5 in B and then starting at the back with A.
Great content. I too recently acheived an A rating and avoided racing for a couple days but realized its better just to race and have fun bc really who cares, its a fun game in the end. I then spent a couple of hours on qualifying and finally got a 2:19 and now im right behind you on my friends list. As long as you get 6th or better supposedly your DR wont go down. So ill keep racing clean and pray i stay in A lol. Have a good vacation.
Completely agree with you here. I always want to race clean and keep SR at S but it seems the harder you race, you do get into these messes. I am also using the McClaren because for some reason that Supra is just so slippery. Can’t drive it. My best is 1:25 something and just can’t seem to improve. In fact, was almost a B end of last week, and now, lower C. I don’t like to engage either, I prefer to be steady and take advantage of mistakes by others. Great to hear your attitude and know that others feel like me. Almost don’t want to race cuz my hard earned rating is dropping. But I guess I should race and try to have fun and forget about DR. Thanks for the vid Cas. Looking forward to the next one and next weeks lineup.
Yeah, if we don't race, then what's the point. Dropping down should hopefully give better opportunities to take some wins! Good luck and just have fun, win or lose.
I like your approach Cas. It’s very similar to my approach although the red mist sometimes descends in the heat of the moment. I’m currently >90% on B and really want that A. However, it’s always a learning exercise to maintain patience. Case in point where you think another driver should give you some room after they have received a penalty. We ended up going through a chicane together because I felt like they should give up the place. Yet I ended up running into them, they ran off so I waited for them to catch up causing both of us to lose 3 places. Even though I didn’t think it was completely my fault, that decision to drive defensively or attack is a fine one and it takes a lot of practice to find a balance. Good job man, keep it up 👍
100% that fun week in the Toyota alphard wreck fest not only dropped my DR but destroyed all our SR I was down to B. Been a real struggle to get it back to S due to the lobbies your thrown in. Nice vid Cas, enjoy your Holiday 👍
It certainly is complicated. At first I wanted to reach A because that seemed like a cool goal and it looked like I could do it. But then I started filling the DRA bar, I'm like 80% A, so much closer to A+ than B, and it's become stressful. Also, I like practicing, doing hotlaps by myself with no one else around, so usually I'll have a *decent* qualy time, as to say, I usually don't start last. Then, if I join a race, I'm always surrounded by very fast people, both in front and behind me, and that's a lot of pressure, and sometimes you just want to chill and have a casual chill race, but everybody else is racing so fast, with all they've got. After having a couple of bad races at Spa a couple of weeks ago, where I started at the front but got taken out by dirty drivers, I had the third consecutive race where one guy passed me forcig his way into my inside, pushing me aside like I was an AI in single player mode. I was so mad that in the next braking point I just smashed my car into him, sending us both flying (i didn't ghost) and then rage quit the race. That was the first and only race that I haven't finished. I instantly dropped to SRA, and it took only one more clean race to go up to SRS again, but at that time everything felt so bad. I haven't been playing in many online races lately because of all the pressure. Ive been driving so fast and well that now I compete with the big boys, and whenever I get paired with slower people, they're so agressive and dirty that... ugh! So I'll enjoy this reflection time, playing single player with tons of different cool cars, and I'll be back wih a fresh mindset sometime soon, I guess 💪🏻
Yea, dont stress it, have fun and the fun races will just happen. Dont forget that if your racing dailies, its ppl your racing, ppl make mistakes. I dont take mistakes personal, when racing close. Chit happens, right?
I flip flopped a couple of times from A to B. Was comfortable in B. Now it’s A & A+. You’ll get comfortable in A like you were B, don’t sweat DR. You’ll just keep getting quicker, until you can’t. That where you’ll be & it’ll still be fun…

Hi there, Last weekend I (finally) reached A+ rating. I don't know if it's a coincidence, but since then almost all races are very messy. A lot of "agressive" driving around me. No clean overtakes. A lot of bumping. Allthough most of them are S safetyrating drivers... I've only been driving Race B this week. Also with the McLaren. Great car. One of the few cars I can drive without TCS. Actually without TCS the McLaren is more stable and predictable. Try it. You can also use stability control. I use that and TCS with the Supra. Nervous car 😅 And with the McLaren on Spa, you only need 6th gear when in a slipstream. You can use fifth gear all the way up too 161 mph. Love the channel 😊. Keep it up.

iv taken a break from daily races. I jump in a few lobbys with friends at the weekends and its far more fun. Not bothered about my dr anymore,, its not worth the stress.
You just need to not care about your ratings really and just enjoy the race, whether finishing good or bad. If you worry to much about it, it will just effect your racing and stress you out like I talk about in this video.
100% agree. i just race and laugh with my buds in private lobbies . Iv started to enjoy the game more since taking a break from the weekly madness. Im pretty sure it affects people mentally and becomes an obsession resulting in depression for some. @@thecasualracinggamer
@@thecasualracinggamer Fraustration will soon set in though and eventually quit if one constantly fails to get results in sport mode. Perhaps it should be do your best, practise the track till u hit a decent time trial then race and not care about DR.
