Michael McDermott 'American in Me'

A solo performance of a standout track from his latest CD 'Noise from Words' which was the closing song of his Saturday afternoon set at the Greenbelt Festival, Cheltenham. You can see Michael walk off stage as he end the song ends and he did not return.

In the United States we call that song "My Country Tis Of The," which you might note he mentions in the song. We have a different set of lyrics for the song than the Brits do.

No doubt this is a great song, great performance and a great artist.
But I my guess would be that the first few bars in are in reference to America (My Country 'Tis of Thee), not God Save the Queen.
(even though both hymns have the same melody)
