I finally built my kayak livewell system that I have been wanting to do for a long time. And thanks to shoreline scavenging finds, I did it for basically free.

Strong work! I did a similar thing on my TI... 2 4x8 lifetime non-foldable card tables from sam's, took off the metal frames & legs & used 3 1&1/4" wooden dowels length wise on each held on with parachute cord to keep them rigid from flexing when I load them up.

You can rip a piece of that deck board down a couple inches wide and screw that to the side of the platform, it will stiffen it up and keep it from flopping around

Of all the flotsam and jetsam you could find floating out there, that can be used for many things and is a great find Steve. 👍

What a cool find! Lots of multihulls have a side platform. For a rig like yours I see most folks using an aluminum stadium bench about 7 or 8 feet long. A five gallon bucket cut into quarters with make good pieces to glue or screw in to round out the corners of your chest and the bait will last longer. And if you attach the angle iron underneath by bolting it to the cross pieces it will be even more rigid. You will have to make the angle shorter to fit between the cross bars. Thanks for the inspiration!

Strap handles to the tube base to secure the cooler with bungees. Very nice !!!

Steve, I happen to have connections to a large junkyard and can provide you with a stainless steel top for your counter, just post the size you need when you fiqure it out and I'll get it to a public location where you can pick it up!

It's called ""potential"" I have a shed full of piece's and left overs from other projects... The angle iron you kept from the mattress ...the ice chests all have ""POTENTIAL"".. SO YOU KEPT THEM 👍 YOUR NOT A HOARDER 👍 YOUR A GREAT FISHERMAN 🤙🤙🤙

Now that you have the platform in place there are lots of things that you can do. You mentioned height. You could use a collapsible step stool, ladder or raised platform with similar anchor points as your live well. It could be made more steady than standing on a rotten old cooler.

You need the 2nd outrigger for buoyancy with the extra weight from the live well, off shore

I’m like you. I try to find other uses for what I find knowing I can use that some day. As soon as I do a clean out I find myself needing what I just threw out.

Good job, except for the steel. There's an aluminum recycler in Marathon by the airport. I suggest swapping out the steel for
    aluminum

You’re probably better off getting a half piece of 1/2 OSB board and building exactly what you want, It would be half the weight. That piece you found is going to eat up more gas and make you go slower. In the long run you’ll end up spending more in fuel and probably killing your motor faster.

I just snagged a crate top at work Sunday night that looks just like that. Had no use for it but shame to see it tossed out. I'm hoping the crate pops up soon around the pallet trailer.

Hey where did you get the outrigger btw? It’s plastic and not inflatable I assume…? Can’t really find anything like it on Amazon, will probably have to look elsewhere. Any way thanks and very much enjoy the channel.
