Caught my pb bull dolphin from under a 2×4 half that size; 53 lbs, off of Miami way back in '94. Always check anything floating, because that small board had not only the bull but also 3-4 good size cows as well as small schoolies busting all around it.
Love the fact that it's possible these days to fish blue water in a kayak. Having the capability to run out miles and fish the Gulfstream for about $20 in fuel is game changing.
Tight lines and following seas!
Steve has all the bases covered!! I really envy your world!!!
Know the keys well' Wife & I dated there, 46yrs, ago always had A line in the water!
Steve, that was an awesome confidence trip, and a beautiful day to go offshore. I'll always pickup anything out there. It's good for our fishes, and the fishing gods! 😁 💯 🎣
Nice calm day on the blue water. Great adventure, no break downs and caught some fish……
A good day.
Cheers
Love your adventures
Hooray deep ocean. Gotta say watching you fight the ajs and thebtuna on thebdeep was as real as it could happen.
Sweet video, man every time you go out it’s an adventure. That’s why I love watching your videos. lol 😆🤙🏻
Hi, been following along for years, recently started watching videos more closely. Would like to suggest a bait for you to try, not a sponsored add I'm just a 74yr old man whos fished all my life. Paddle mostly inshore B-Bay stalking Bones and Permit on artificial.
Offshore when trolling for Dolphin we always have, for years, a Billy Bait Mini Turbo Slammer, blue sparkle / white, get the one with cable leader rigged and ready, in on the short line other baits are usually skirted ballyhoo. Seldom loose a fish, easy to quickly deploy., and more times than not it gets hit first.
Question. You’re saying you should have kept the small
Mahi for bait. Isn’t FWC regulations for Atlantic state waters 20” from the fork?
Just don’t want you to get in trouble! Also, can I buy you a new hat? That thing has gone from horrible to awful
FUNNY HOW YOU'RE CATCHING BONITA... BUT EVERY FISH YOU LOSE OR FISH BUSTING IN THE DISTANCE ARE ALL TUNA... 😅😂😊
Should have sprinkled some chum on the board for the bird.
What do you use to charge the fishfinder battery
Last time I was out not a single flying fish was spotted. That was the main prey for dolphin years ago they have all but disappeared
Why stop and reduce tension in line when hooking fish on the troll? Basic trolling rule is to do the opposite of what you do, reduces risk of pulled hooks.
You keep moving if you're pulling two or more rods.
What’s he supposed to do, reel it in with one hand? Tiller steering and throttle…
I think that theory is false, too much tension and you pull a hook
Bro that kinda fishing in that kinda water you have to be ready and prepared with NO screwups! Wrapped lines and other things that delay your casts and you are doomed.😳
Awesome. Is that outrigger/pontoon come as an accessory with that kayak or is it a home-made addition
If you look up Hobie it comes with the models that you can sail. Island Adventure is the model name if I remember correctly.
Guy above is correct they are the outrigger for the island adventure kayak and they even have them on both sides. People also take them and rig them to all the other hobie kayaks. I have a pro angler14 with a setup just like this. I also like the netting that goes between the kayak and outrigger for my insulated fish bag
Great video
Got rain? 😁
What's wrong with Bonita?
Looks like an older video??? Pretty windy lately
Florida's been getting dumped on, I assume the storms have been affecting the Keys, too...
@@Backroad_Junkie I got to the keys yesterday….no chance it’s this calm or sunny recently….as some one who gets seasick, I dream of these calm days offshore
can I send you 20 bucks for a new hat, seriously man you sell those hats, you're killing me smalls
👍😎✌
