I actually really like this new camera app,.I really don't understand why soany people complain. All the functions are there from from before, and the basic tab has access for the most important additional adjustments. I think it's great.

This app does not have the same functionality, it does not have the video pro and cinema pro features.

We complain because they have taken the key apps that we know and got familiar with. They could've left the apps there and added the new camera app, there was no reason to remove them.
Sony uniqueness is rare in an era of copy cats, 3.5mm port, memory card slot etc. Hate or love them, they're like no one else.
The same features are now in one application and easy to access

You have to buy the mark vi to access the new features, that's what will make people upgrade. I'm using the 1 iii i think the mark vi is a major Go for me.
I'm using 1 iii as well, but after seeing I vi I guess my next phone will be either 1 v or pixel 8 pro, but I'm still enjoying 1 mark iii, even more after the announcement of 1 vi.
I used to change my phone every year. All of them are Xperia 1 series. Until I watched the Xperia 1 VI Announcement video, I decided to discontinue on this mark for two reasons. One is about it's aspect ratio which is not 21:9 anymore. Another one, the main reason, is the new Camera application. I'm happy that the brand wants to be familiar with any type of user. It's okay that there's Basic mode in it. BUT for Pro mode, it's UI should be the same as it was. It's not hard to understand. It's very easy to adjust things I want before pressing the shutter button. It's exceptional and unique. Please bring it back. I'll wait for 1 VII or until the REAL PRO MODE is back again.

I did pre ordered through Amazon UK and it’s a rip off tbh but I want this one so badly.
Samsung Galaxy S5, S6 user and using a Samsung Galaxy a54 5g. I'm just leaving Samsung, I had enough with this Exynos chip, display issue. The phone updates by itself, is just a nightmare. Google pixel another nightmare 2xl, 4xl .. last one died in the last update I got.. battery went dead. Sony Ericsson was my 1st phone I ever had. Just trying to return to you guys, even though it will not be perfect. Japan technology is great.

The design, functionality and interface of Photography Pro, Video Pro and Cinema Pro are impressive. It motivates you to learn new things, shoot more professionally, and unlock the potential of your cameras. The new standard application makes it possible to adjust the same settings, but I absolutely don’t want to do this. Ugly black and white interface, ugly zoom slider. How will this help your sales? Why don't I feel Photo Pro when I switch to Pro mode in a new app? Leave the option to use old applications, make a new application as the main one for the crowd. I understand the lack of a 4k display. I understand the resolution is 19.5:9. 21:9 is brilliant, but can be off-putting to a wider audience, so 19.5:9 is good. I understand the simplified camera interface for a wide audience, but completely removing the applications that set Sony apart from its competitors is a crime. The professional design and professional interface of Photography Pro, Video Pro and Cinema Pro is what we loved about Sony.
Excellent change, very well-designed phone; Sony made this phone appealing to everyone who expected a high-quality product with unique features. So far the best phone for 2024👍🏼

I was going to buy this phone, but soon as they got rid of the 21 x 9 aspect road ratio and the "professional apps" I guess I’m gonna have to give it a miss. I think Sony has messed up here.
Maybe the next xperia 5vi would feature 21:9 & improve professional apps to mke it different from 1vi & 10vi

Not really liking this app. Tried a ported version. Sure its not made for my xperia 1 V, but it works. But dont like it, and were is 21:9 format? They could say least had the option to film in 21:9 format, even iPhone can do that

It's all messy. They thought of going mainstream while keeping the dedicated people who already had an Xperia and were looking to upgrade being happy with the new app. What would have really helped was a fourth app for easy access to auto camera for photos/video along side the already existing magnificent pro apps

The new photo App is not very good , tried a ported apk version on my xperia 1 v and it does not compare to the previous dedicated PHOTO PRO app. It does make it faster to flip through modes and lenses ill give it that but its definitely butchered.
they announced it will be updated soon. they are launching early just like 1V (Overheating on first firmware)

Is it just me or this just seems like a downgrade? From the previous Xperia 1 series smartphones. Like how do you come from a 4K 21:9 aspect ratio OLED HDR 120 Hz display to 1080p? Like what phone in 2024 have a 1080p screen that's a company's flagship phone? If there is one they're not known. And now you take away the photography pro app? that made it like a Sony alpha a7 camera. I wonder how much this phone costs because if it's over $500 this is not a good choice. It's just so basic... Why even keep the look of the Xperia 1 series It should have started this own thing.

They listened to much on American influencers like MKHBD who crapped on Xperias for years. Sure MR whostheboss did like the Xperias of lately but Marquez never got over and talked about how he would really like Sony if it had the features it had but with 19:9,5 and better AI camera mode. This is in a fact just what he wanted.

I don't agree with you with the 4K screen I've been hearing that every since Sony released the Sony Xperia Z5 premium and I always compare the 4K screens to every other phone for years and even they would agree it looks better on a 4K screen not only that but zooming in on text with a higher PPI it's undoubtedly noticeable.

When best innovative apps were replaced by old, like on every other phones, app by a popular vote. Disappointed but understand. There was a great pressure on this one. Sony fought and lose( It would be more difficult to use but hope functionality will preserve
BUT... is the Xperia 1 VI compatible with the Sony Creators' app? That's what I want to know. Their website says the cheaper Xperia 10 VI is... but NOT the 1 VI. (At least not YET...) How can their European flagship phone not confirm it runs with their fancy app for pairing with THEIR OWN high-end cameras?

I don't know what Sony is doing. The identity of the Sony Xperia series has been built in 5 years. Why do you simply abandon 4?K I don't know, but I see the new Xperia as a device that has become a very normal device, and phones in the $300 category are much better. What used to distinguish Sony, the powerful Sony screen, Sony cameras, and the amount of options available to the photographer, has now become a regular phone.I love Sony devices. I hope you will reconsider the 4 screen 4K

Many people here have wrong expections and or bad reasons to like the phone overall.
Everything theyve done is for the best. Unless they increase sales, they might have to kill this photography niche entirely.
Theyve compromised things well and I dont see why youd think that the new camera app would reall hinder your creative process.
Even so, as a photographer, arent you almost always out and about with your camera? There has never been anything super serious to be gained from phone shots.
And the display change is a good thing!
4k is severely excessive for a phone screen. Such pixel density barely makes a difference.
A bigger problem than having a lower res screen is having a low battery life, because that will impact your daily life and if you intend to use a charge limit for battery longevity, as someone that has no access to a charger throughout the whole day, the phone would certainly run out of juice.
What Sony has done for the mark 6 is for the best.
Improve on the things that should only be improved and compromise on the things that makes it needlessly hard for some.

I’m very surprised that, as a phone that’s already in its sixth generation, it still doesn’t offer a front camera mirror mode or the ability to horizontally flip photos. It’s frustrating that such essential features for users are completely overlooked. This really forces users to consider abandoning this series and looking at other products that genuinely meet their needs.
Is there a manual or similar for the app? I am interested in the drive mode. Is it possible to shoot bursts of 30 pictures per second as before? How long can be shoot in this mode?
Where are the videopro mode? And the cinematography mode features?

I'm really sad they removed photo and video pro. It's a real shame, it (along with there old displays) made them what they are. Those things set then apart from other generic manufacturers.

I translated the comment into English in the hope of being heard, but I will also add it in Russian. Bring back Photography Pro, Video Pro and Cinema Pro. The new default camera app in the Sony Xperia 1VI is a big mistake. Why do I need a huge white camera shutter touch circle in Pro mode when I'm shooting in landscape orientation when I have a perfect physical shutter button? That huge white shutter-touch circle just cuts down on your workspace. I hold my smartphone vertically in Pro mode and rotate it horizontally to take beautiful photos. All controls rotate, and the mode selection buttons lie on their sides and hurt the eyes (the inscriptions Pro, Bokeh, Photo and others). It turns out that in Pro mode (!), I get white labels on the right side of the interface, lying on their sides, and on the left side a thick black bar with a mode selection, flash and a menu button. You just removed the convenient buttons from there, leaving an almost empty black bar in Pro mode. You cut down the menu on the left side of the screen, now there is an empty black bar, so my left thumb is free, but you take the zoom slider and move it to the right side, closer to the terrible round white shutter button. There's nothing professional about it. There is no pleasure in using this mode for professional shooting with advanced settings. This is the most mediocre interface possible. Pro means that all the buttons are in their place, just like in the Photography Pro app, where there are no inscriptions lying on the side, no bold empty bars, all the space is filled with convenient and important settings that are always at hand. This is what Pro means
What an ugly camera interface. In Photo Pro, manual focusing can be easily done with one hand, which you hold your smartphone with. For some reason, in the ugly new app, manual focus is on the screen and not in the function menu. Previously, you could hold the phone firmly with your left hand, and move the sharpness slider with your right hand and press the shutter button. This reduced the shaking of the phone. Now you have to move your finger across the screen with your left hand, and set the settings with your right hand and press the shutter button.
Without Cinema Video Pro mode i dont buy this version of xperia. I will stay on Mark V.

buggy camera app especially video mode, some delays and freezing, less AI features compared to the competition. Software requires updating for a smooth user experience.

im preety shure that next update to 1 V will bring the new camera. about the support even tho i can relate i kinda understand that its really hard to make your phone updated, sony i a huge company, but phone section is actually really small
except you can't buy the 1 VI in the USA. And was forced to buy the 1 V instead. Very sad. Hopefully the 1 V lasts me 4 years like my 1ii has and thus in a few years you get your head out of your ass and come back to the US. Maybe this time selling your phones at carriers so you can actually be noticed more.
Sadly, it's a crappy app; They killed photography pro, which was basically the only thing that made their phone different, which made them an option compared to other manufacturers: pixel, samsung, etc. It has hidden manual controls, they are not at hand and are destined with this interface to be forgotten. If I wanted a basic phone I would go for a Pixel, cheaper and basically with the same crappy camera. I would ask for the resignation of whoever came up with this, he just killed Xperia.
They didn't killed it. They combine photography pro and cinemapro into One app. Just like alpha camera did
@@arx117 The result of said merger took away all of the identity of photography pro, therefore, it is no longer pro, it is something else. Before you had all the information at hand, especially those of us who liked to use manual mode had the options accessible, now you have to go through Fn, while the shot is lost. photography pro was designed by and for photographers, what we have now is an Honor type application, sad, they killed a good application.

I am a sony fan since Xperia Z3 until Xperia 1 . The last XPERIA phone was XZ Premium, wich i used every day, since 2017, and still my main phone. Xperia 1 it was a mistake to buy. This 21:9 not fit in to poket so i can t used everyday, the battery it not like a flagship, the equaliser from Music APP it was a mess. This Dolby equaliser its duing nothing... The rounded corners it not a Xperia design. So anyway, the die hard sony fan are waiting for Xperia to come back on track, and make some real XPERIA. Look at Samsung s24. It just like a XZ Premium design, aluminium and i like it so mouch, but i cant buy Samsung. So i still waiting for you, with my XZ Premium in poket in 2024 (clean and unteched) to make something because i will need to buy another XPERIA , not this rounded corners, with bugs and rounded corners and FULL HD in 2024.....! Are you joking there ?? Still have my Z4 Tablet since 2016 using everyday like a media and TV , ofcorce on charger all the time.... But i want to buy another one 10.1 inch or more with all the rings and the bell on that.... We don t undrestend what you want to do for so long ......
The phone is OVER PRICED. Rest of the phone doesn't work smoothly. Sony is blowing its only chance to capture phone marker
