Amazing thing is how close the Xperia is to the FX30. There's still the smartphone look but it's not as prominent or weird as other smartphones are. Pretty insane from Sony.
Really enjoying the VI, its amazing for me after not having a great camera on a phone for years. The macro lens is special for nature shots, i get that a pure camera is different. Additionally the battery life is superb, even when filming and processing 4K videos
Hi! I am also quite happy with my Xperia 1 VI. I finally got a screen protector and case for it too, now I can experiment more and take photos and videos. Thank you for this video!
I always take the photos in RAW and I think the pictures are really great for a smartphone. The 85-170 mm is a difficult topic The macro shots with the telephoto camera are incredible.Portraits and pictures of close objects in bright light also I don't think the quality is good for objects that are far away.Overall a great smartphone.
@@alxgr752 The zoom is really good at short distances From 85-170mm. Macro photos up to 170 mm are excellent Only with subjects further away you need a lot of light to get a reasonably good result.I have found that it is much better if you also take these photos in RAW And then edited Overall an excellent camera The 24 mm are outstanding The autofocus is crazy better than some professional cameras. The RAW photos have a lot of reserves for post-processing
6:10 G-Master lenses are not stabilized, too. Stabilized lenses on E mount are mostly only telezoom lenses such as 70-200, 70-300, 200-400 etc. Only regular lenses with stabilization are 28-70, 24-70 Zeiss, 24-240 and 24-105.
@@techmo2020 same here ;D I was always searching for a stabilized standard/extended zoom, but except for the 24-105 G the other lenses are all optically weak. And the 24-105 itself isn't a stellar lens in terms of price/performance (really bad CAs, bad zoom and focus rings). Sony tends to write "stablized*" into their lens informations but that refers to the IBIS. =)
Thank you very much for the video. Now it would be interesting to compare the RAW images or to look at the results achieved with appropriate software such as Luminar Neo
Very predictable results, nothing shocking. A smartphone still can't beat camera. Sony will never allow it happen - Sony can't afford to make Xperia camera better than their own dedicated camera. It will be shot in a foot and severely damaging to camera sales which are suffer from rapidly increasing smartphone cameras quality already.

@@joelconolly5574 NOT on ALL. For example, I can say with confidence that the Vivo X100 Ultra in Zeiss mode has a much more correct skin tone than Sonya, who either has a green face, or is pale, looks like a corpse, or is red. If I'm honest I'm not overly impressed with either one, sony needs some super firmware updates to make the xperia even close to samsung I would be very disappointed if I paid 1300 pounds and this was the results I got, why would yo use a cinema camera for still ???
I was debating between using canon or Sony and FX30 is the only Sony camera that I have and I wanted to test the color space compatibility. FX30 is very capable of taking single shots, the only problem is lack of burst mode which makes it challenging for sports or wildlife photography. Another thing is I messed up when uploading the video, it's not 4K, that's why there is a bit quality loss in the UA-cam encoding, I'm very mad at myself right now :)
I am disappointed with the galaxy s24 ultra because its cameras are very bad in almost everything for some reason, both in terms of color gamut it is fake and with some wrong colors, as well as when taking pictures, the s23 ultra was much better quality. And I was forced to exchange my s24 ultra for xperia 1 VI because I couldn't stand s24 ultra anymore, samsung still only makes quantity and not quality, too bad. Xperia 1 VI is of higher quality in most everything, more natural color gamut, yes, the light sensor should be bigger, while the xperia hasn't even had updates yet, while the s24 ultra already has several updates and it's getting worse and worse.

...can you write prons and cons of both? (I mean 1 VI and iPhone)
Except the part with the Sony Camera (no money :/) this is literally what i wanted to comment😅

They can't do it because of sensor size. Bigger sensor>better photo. And when you are into making photo's you use RAW and make them better afterwards.
Good comparison ❤
Hello techmo, have you figured out a way to capture time lapse videos? I can't find this in the camera app...
I think you should use MotionCam or open camera, I don't see such an option in the camera app itself, but I could be wrong.
This how camera comparison took place real camera device vs phone camera device..
