Thanks for the early review. Looks are really cool, glad to see its finally coming to Australia. Well priced against Australian priced EV9 but still quite expensive. EV9 Seems to have more tech and for VW this seems like it's already using older gen VW stuff i.e. the lack of buttons. Keen to try one out either way!
Great review. The ID Buzz design looks great, inside out, and has the heritage. 👍 A Kia just doesn't compare. I was shocked to hear a Kia is $120 ! It's like paying $200K for a Chery....
Gosh the Zeeka does have strong lines to that of the Lexus LM. I'm a real fan of these big people movers and glad to see some great attention to the trinity of function, form and purpose.
Enjoyed your review, good stuff. Still debating whether to put an order down for one in UK region. Pretty expensive at £65k but there isnt much similar for same or less money. VW transporters sold by aftermarket customisers are £90k+ after VAT. If the LWB Buzz had 100 miles more range i probably wouldn't hestitate.
Nice one Matt. Thank you. The Buzz? Interesting, however, until I see it in the flesh it’s not enough of a buzz for a 50 plus male for a buzz to lose a wrinkle or two…
If I was to buy an ID Buzz this would be the one I want…. But VW doesn’t offer this colour with matching interior. BIG MISTAKE! For $4K I could get a wrap on white cheaper!
A 13.5kwh Tesla home battery costs $13-15k. On that basis, you’re basically paying for the 86kwh battery and getting a nice Volkswagen van wrapped around it for free.
@@therightcarthe top of the range Kia Carnival is about $72 k and the Multivan is supposed to arrive in the mid $70s. A much as I like EV,s and VW Kombi,s it’s difficult to equate the bottom of the range ID buzz at $87K not including onroad costs as good value. There are also no doubt a list of extras that you can add at a couple of thousand at a time in VW and Mercedes style. I once paid 46K for a golf wagon after adding a few items like leather seats, sun roof, a good sound system a proper spare wheel and a colour other than white. Luckily it was leased so the pain wasn’t too bad but to this day I wonder if it was worth it. . There are also a few very well specced Chinese people movers about to hit the Australian market that will be quite a bit cheaper than the buzz so even with the buzz charm I have my doubts about it’s saleability in Aus. Could be wrong.
I think there is something wrong with the WLTP range of km with a single charge. It cannot be more than 600km if the vehicle has an avg consumption of 20kWh/100km and a battery of 86kWh
@@therightcar I think you got a wrong spec. I found everywhere a WLTP range of up to 487 km. For example in an official document on the vw UK press page I read "Thanks to the 86 kWh battery and WLTP consumption of 21.0 to 19.5 kWh/100 km, the big ID. Buzz is capable of WLTP ranges of 453 to 487 km". Anyway it was just to point it out, thanks for your review 😊
C'mon Volkswagen... Far too pricey for the majority of people, too many hard internal surfaces and considering VW's long term history of unreliability I'd wait for a Japanese made alternative. Design is subjective and there's nothing offensive going on here, it's quite modern and contemporary I think. Looking forward to Mitsubishi's all new generation of the very popular with a cult following, DELICA van/ people mover / all terrain vehicle.
@@therightcarIt’s lazy and cheap engineering. And plenty of UK ID3 owners feel the same. If Peugeot for example can be bothered providing proper RHD wipers on a niche product like the RCZ (which has the same centre overlapping layout), sure VW could have. It is pretty annoying driving a car with wipers from the wrong drive side.
@@therightcarBut thanks for the laugh emoji. Your bogan schtick was always pretty cringe, so I guess I didn’t need all that much of a push to ignore your videos…
Thats a lot of money for this. I went looking at it thinking it was a 7 seater. Priced at 45k, and thats just the basic here in Ireland. When I went to look at it they told me the 7 seaters cost more. Insane ppl would pay that much money for this. You might as well go buy yourself a luxury car at that price point. 😂
Tried it last week. Typical VW Id with some really annoying details that would have been so easy to fix. The steering wheel sucks big time with the capacitive buttons. No camper mode sucks. Auto off after 30 minutes sucks. The auto off when you leave the seats sucks even more. As a family driver, how often do you want to turn off the car when you put the car in P and step out? Probably 20% of the time. The rest is servicing the kids, pick up post from the post box, loading off a kid or two at school or at the football field and getting back to the driving seat. In all those occasions you want to keep the car on. But it turns off all the f-ing time. Annoys the SHIT out of me. Same thing when I use it as my office when being out on job trips. I go to the back seat to work with my computer. 30 minutes later: turns off. Use the car for camping? No. It turns off. WHATAFAAACK, can you just give me an option to turn that stupid auto-off off??? How hard can it be? I really miss VTL too. Great for having power when camping for heating shower water, charging power tools and cameras and so on. No.
It’s a Chocolate Teapot….. Useless. There are NO charging points in the Middle of nowhere. It’s also almost £70.000 pounds, YIKES . I have a 1966 Split screen Camper and it’s the Coolest thing I have ever owned, It goes 487 miles on a full Tank. at first. Then i fitted a Long Range Tank that gets me a little over 900 miles. And guess what it only cost me £32.800 fully restored and updated for modern driving. No road Tax No dumb ULEZ , and best of all insurance to travel Worldwide is only £416 . You have to be crazy to buy this EV version….
I was so determined to get one of these…. Until I drove it. Terrible ride. Fell out of my seat going over a relatively small bump. Shockingly cheap materials. I was devastated. Probably the worst vehicle I’ve ever driven
Have you heard of Canoo. The most configurable EV VAn (or Car) ever made. This ID Buzz is over- Engineered, Lacks ground clearance as a Transporter. VW should go back to bred/butter. This ID BUzz will be a big seller as a Six/seat (3+3), double carb. for family. $30000US for base model. This is the to be the best selling car in the world. But this car company is currently run by Idiots. The only golden goose they 've got, the Transporter (which actually can double as an SUV because of Ground Clearance), is now a ford transporter also hogging the ground. totally lost the plot. This company needs a reality check.
Love Love it, style, charm and classic retro lines, all wrapped up in some kool tech.
It appears to be the best option for my family 👌 thanks 🙏

@@therightcar I took white-blue 😋

Looks like it's straight out of a Barbie Movie. 😊
Is that why I like it? Must be my 3yo’s influence.
I have one in Hot Wheels form! Same toy company even.
A great looking exterior and interior. I prefer the smaller model SWB the best.
Me too! Just a sweet design!

Agree. The Zeekr is striking. Can’t wait to see it and drive it.
Totally, they’re so much more family-friendly than high SUVs.

It's a winner!
"It boogies" classic. Thanks for the review. Do they offer it without the glass roof? That would be my preference. It looks awesome in and out.
Thanks!
That sunroof is $3290 as an option in Australia.

What’s about the small overlap crash test?
Cute..fun car
Let's face it this vehicle is a rip off and I will be shocked if this sells well. People have had enough of way overpriced ev's 😮
I don’t think it’s a ripoff. People pay more than that for a diesel Multivan.
