Not sure if anyone's said it yet but the +7 I get at least is from wrong warping to faram via the four belfries portal and grabbing the stone at the 3rd grace before dipping. You just take the waygate there to faram, fast travel to round table, and as your loading bar hits the 100% mark you alt + f4 the game. Mohg is incredibly fire resistant because his blood is on fire. This is part of his connection to the Formless Mother, one of the outer gods, which also allows him to wield bloodflame.
@@DoomWolfOfficial The Formless Mother and her followers just want blood to flow. Bleeding isn't a bad thing to them. Mohg's NIHIL and his spear's Weapon Art are literally stabbing the Formless Mother, and even she's cool with that. Also, the dudes with Reduvia and Bloody Helice in Mohg's area and the place where you get Bloody Helice, as well as Mohg himself, all get boosted damage when bloodloss occurs. I'd assume the same of the guy in the Catacombs with the dogs, but I haven't fought him since they patched the dogs to NOT instantly kill you, so I never checked. I tried to check on Varre, but honestly, most of his damage comes from bleeding you, which is % based, and the actual hits that apply the bleed are pitiful, so I couldn't tell.
Pretty sure the Boulder falls short because it's aimed at your position as he readies it, and the shield blast moves you back a full sprite length, so you basically backstep the boulder by firing.
Perhaps, I mean that makes sense, but in unshown footage I actually held the shot until after the boulder landed and I didn't get hit (perhaps that was just a coincidence, who knows lol)
While it may seem pretty unclear at first, I think the obvious reason for the Beast Clergymen missing is rock is that flame spit pushes you back just a bit, causing you to just barely dodge the boulder.
I thought this too, but there was one instance where I just held the shot and it still missed (I didn't show that in the footage) that one might have been a fluke though, who knows haha
Theory on the rock throw from Beast Clergyman - you start the animation for shooting before he's throwing the rock. As he throws, you fire. The shot pushes you back a bit, and so the rock hits where you were previously standing when he threw it - hence why it lands just a few inches in front of you. Probably wrong, but that's my guess.
See this is a great logical explanation and i'm inclined to believe it but elsewhere in the fight I just kinda stood there and he didn't hit me with it, so. I don't know, further testing necessary haha
11:36 Seems like the rock is aimed to a fixed position just a wee bit right in front of you, at the start of throwing animation. And then the shield cannon kicks you back about two steps when you fire it. So, the throw miss.
I didn't show it but I feel like I remember doing a test mid-fight where I just stood there with the shot charged _and it still missed_ but otherwise, your explanation makes the most sense lol

At 11:17, it looks like the pushback from.the shot moves you literally just out of the hit box of the rock throw. Maybe the timing for when the attack position is determined lined up or something? Idk, I'm bad at the game but it just looked like that to me.
that's possible, and probably most likely but I seem to recall testing just readying the shot and holding it, then the stone missing. I didn't use that footage because it was test, or maybe i'm finally going hollow idk haha but your explanation would make the most sense
probably the ones in caelid, i think if i remember correctly the spirit jump near the Sellia Hideway you can land onto of the skull near Greyoll's Dragonbarrow ontop of it there should be a couple 7 stones
@@DoomWolfOfficial Well considering i am a noob and have atleast 200 hours into the game and i still cant get past Malenia and godskins without smashing everyting around me is a good thing i guess xD
The somber 7 that you were trying to get in volcano manor is the one they get. The other 7s are all in the sewers in leyndell for the most part. Also that jump isnt possible anymore they patched it out in 1.06. They just do the godskin noble skip to get to it.
I think it's still technically possible, but the timing is just too tight to do it consistently to the point where killing the noble is just more efficient.
I had heard the timing was just so incredibly strict that no speed runner does it because it's inconsistent and would kill runs, either way, thanks maybe i'll practice Godskin Noble skip! :)
@@DoomWolfOfficial Actually, and this isn't really gonna help, speedruns right now have moved from the Serpent hunter to a new route around the Bloodhound fang that lets you skip Volcano manor entirely. This means they fight Morgott with a +6 and then pick up the +7 on the way in the forbidden lands
Speedrunners normally grab the +7 in volcano manor after killing noble, the one in Nokstella after giving fingerslayer blade to ranni or the one in forbidden lands after morgott
You can get two serpent hunters by doing a glitch. If you want to do it here is what to do.Discard serpent hunter if you already have it and the invaders in front of the fog wall and when it says invading world then go into the boss room take the serpent hunter and after the invasion go back in the boss room and there will be a second one 👌🏻
This is likely, but iirc there was unshown footage where I tested by holding the shot until after it should have hit me but still missed, maybe that was just a coincidence haha, but this is the most logical explanation
true, I just like getting the weapon legit because some people try my runs after I make a video, so by cheating it in early I have limited who can get it to PC users (and even then PC users willing to use cheat engine lol)
I randomly found this shield during my third play through, coincidentally using greatshields The NPC holding it barely used it so I didn't know what was it's quirk until I took it I was physically in awe when I fired a fireball and it exploded on a wall, the sound was magnificent Long story short, it's now my favourite shield
@@DoomWolfOfficial the lore says that the formless mother gains power from wounds, also he might get a boost when someone bleeds nearby, but I’m not 100% sure about that
I think most speedrunners will do one of the skips you showed if they are confident otherwise they just kill Noble. I guess you could go to the Sewers in the room before Dung Eater to farm those hands, but you’ll have to wrong warp/ruptured tear after using the tower of return. Oh I guess you could also poison mist DTS, but that takes a year.
I don't know about speed runners but you can get a somber 7 by killing that astel like enemy in the way to nokron or you can farm in the giant hands before the dung eater cell
You can wrong warp to faram azula from the 4 belfries, when you got to the small island via the teleporter you need to do the wrong warp. So you basically try teleporting back to the roundtable hold and as soon as the loading bar jumps a big amount and goes above half you alt f4 the game and re-open it. Not actually hard and it takes few tries, make sure you hit the site grace. When you teleport to faram azula make your way to the temple where you find the ancient dragon cult prayerbook or whatever it's called and hit the elevator, there you can find smithing stone 9 on a body next to a tree where those worm faces are. and before the godskin fight you can find somber 7 on a body on a floating piece of rock, and then further dropping down you can find somber smithing stone 8 just before the site of grace. So basically that skip allows you to get a +10 weapon before any boss fight since you can find every other somber smithing stone except 7 and 9, which is cool. I hope you'll read this.
This is true, it slipped my mind about wrong warping. I tend to never do glitches in my runs (obviously here i straight up cheated something in but still lol) there's a 9 in Dragonbarrow, it's at the base of Caelid's Divine tower (it's the one I get in the video)
@@DoomWolfOfficial yeah It's pretty cool that this game is not entirely linear like most games, and this freedom allows for more build diversity and trying out new things which is really nice. I have almost 600 hours and I never got tired of this game. Plus it has a constant 50k playerbase if you look up on steam charts. It was a genuine surprise that we got an actual finished game that is in a playable state unlike many games released in the past decade, where developers release broken, half finished games.
Mohg is resistant to fire because there's something in the game that says his blood was lit on fire by the formless mother, so I guess he's into that or something.
If we're doing cosplay runs, perhaps Hawkman? Wield the Morningstar, or maybe another spiky mace weapon, and a brass shield. Get some set that looks appropriate. I'm sure one of them has something like wings. Use summons as you see fit, but always lead from the front. Die repeatedly to everything, and come back stronger every time you do.
ngl, when I first read this I thought you meant Harvey birdman, attorney at law and I was like "yyyeEEESSSS" lol Hawkman still cool though, thanks for the suggestion :)
I believe with high enough mind, full cerulean flasks, wonderous physick, and starlight shards Rykard is *technically* possible. Not that anyone should *try*
In my discord someone asked if it was technically possible. I did the math and I wanna say at my damage output (which isn't optimal, for example red feathered branch is more damage than sword talisman) it was 187 shots to his weak point? Assuming the damage is consistent in phase 1 and 2. At 10 shots a mana bar that 19 mana bars. So with starlight shards I...I mean I _guess_ but rykard won't just sit there and let you hit him for 187 shots lol
Bloodhound fang ur way through godskin noble in volcano major and get it, I swear that weapon is op. I guess it would be hard in a "this weapon only" run
Random idea I had for a challenge if your up for it: How lazy can you(r character) play to beat elden ring? Or at least for bosses and significant fights, but like basically letting summons do all the work for you, overlevelling defensive stuff, using shields and just walking around the arena, and using cheese strats everywhere you can lmao. idk, I can see it becoming tedious but it did sound like it could be fun and make for interesting content, who knows
I think better way of getting the Filigreed talisman would have been going to mistwood, go to Kale, get snap emote, go back, talk to Blaid, then go kill Darwill bloodhound knight with Blaidd. After that you talk to Blaidd, get free Somber 2 and then he tells you he knows a smith in liurnia and you talk to Iji, exhaust the dialogs and behold, he sells the Filigreed Talisman.
@@DoomWolfOfficial Yeah. When I wrote my comment I was not thinking Ranni's quest and that Somber 7. What I suggested might be slightly cheaper way to get it, but then again Somber 2's are easy to get. So in the end I think my suggestion is just and alternative way to do it, rather than better. You can get Filigreed slightly earlier by doing Blaidd's quest part, but not that much earlier.
@Doom Wolf Keeps me entertained, so keep at it. I enjoy the fact that your commentary and script is not soaked in profanity and blasphemy like a lot of challenge runners, while adult in nature at times, you focus on wit and comedic timing which is not only more enjoyable, but I feel it gives your content a longer lifespan compared to someone "rageing" and screaming f bombs for the 100th video.
I'm stuck on Godfrey's stompy phase, I'm doing a Dragon Communion spells only rune level 1 run. I can rot him right before, so he's taking damage during that phase, but I need to hit him with something around half health to get to the Hoarah Loux phase. I could unga bunga with Godrick's dragon fist, but I've made it this far with just the spells. I want to find a window for my slow ass spells, but man it's hard.
oof, dragon communion only RL1 sounds tough. I did it but not at RL1 and at that point I didn't find any safe opprotunies to attack. i noticed one where he stomped first and then swung, there _might_ be enough time to do something in that, but I didn't check. a lot of people commented saying for Hoarah Loux you can actually avoid his grabs using dragon maw or claw, I don't....it never worked for me but they said if you time it right you're just immune to the grab. idk haha
I feel like im the only person who actually enjoys when the runner cheats in a weapon instead of fucking around for half the video to get the weapon and already being basically 50% done. Im here to be entertained and see how viable it really is i dont care how you get it.
Some of my viewers like to do the run after I do, to see what it's like. If I cheat the weapon in the Console users can't (unless they wanna do NG+). That's also why I try to minimize the amount of enemies slain before actually getting the weapon haha
Speedrunners and also not speedrunners (like myself) get the somber 7 from vulcano manor, and through the noble skip. It took me about 6 hours till i got it the first time though
Somber 7s in the bottom of Lyndell sewers so I thinks it's either GS nobs or the Draco tree sentinel are the hurdle to get 7s early on. But Varre knows I'm know expert

Note: you don't need to clear out Caria Manor to get the Carian Filigreed Crest talisman. You just have to go talk to blaidd in limgrave then summon him for the bloodhound knight evergaol and he will tell Iji to sell it to you
I believe this is true, but it is faster to punch Loretta in the face and talk to Ranni lol
6:56 - In this challenge, this was the only chance to get Skill damage boost, since Alexander is immune to Fire Damage. Yea I know, weird.
7:54 - Animal-type enemy, thus weak to Fire. -20% is not a lot, but still :)
he isn't immune to being blown up i'll tell ya that lmao
Well damn been a long wait but happy to see it
haha, hope it was worth it my friend
Just got BUFFED! DO IT AGAIN!!
Maybe if it ever gets nerfed I will lol
When Doom giggle in the intro, you know the video will be good.
I hope that giggle lived up to the expectation lol
1:25 I see what you did there, nice :D
glad you laughed haha
The fire giant didn't see that coming
surprising, what with that big ol eye lol
At 11:17, it looks like the pushback from.the shot moves you literally just out of the hit box of the rock throw. Maybe the timing for when the attack position is determined lined up or something? Idk, I'm bad at the game but it just looked like that to me.
that's possible, and probably most likely
but I seem to recall testing just readying the shot and holding it, then the stone missing. I didn't use that footage because it was test, or maybe i'm finally going hollow idk haha
but your explanation would make the most sense
probably the ones in caelid, i think if i remember correctly the spirit jump near the Sellia Hideway you can land onto of the skull near Greyoll's Dragonbarrow ontop of it there should be a couple 7 stones
Those are regular smithing stones.
Unfortunately those are regular 7s, thanks though :)
@@DoomWolfOfficial ah geuss i didnt remember correctly :(
I beat Rahdan on my 2nd attempt too! 92hrs later when i was arguably over leveled😂
haha nice!
Bruh, respect for doing these runs.. i would smash my pc in the first 1 hour of playing xD
lol thanks, this one actually wasn't that bad all things considered :P
@@DoomWolfOfficial Well considering i am a noob and have atleast 200 hours into the game and i still cant get past Malenia and godskins without smashing everyting around me is a good thing i guess xD
Considering how many times I've watched doom beat this game maybe I should beat it myself for the first time 😂
lol, it's a good game! I hope if you do try it then you enjoy it :)
"sparky boom boom man!!"
"HE HAS A NAME"
do....does he? lol
@@DoomWolfOfficial yeah zuko said it, but i like calling him sparky sparky boom boom man anyways lol
@Darthplagueis13 no, it's not possibile now they add invisible wall there
I had heard the timing was just so incredibly strict that no speed runner does it because it's inconsistent and would kill runs, either way, thanks maybe i'll practice Godskin Noble skip! :)
@@DoomWolfOfficial Actually, and this isn't really gonna help, speedruns right now have moved from the Serpent hunter to a new route around the Bloodhound fang that lets you skip Volcano manor entirely. This means they fight Morgott with a +6 and then pick up the +7 on the way in the forbidden lands
yet another banger thanks doom!
Glad you enjoyed it my friend :)
Speedrunners normally grab the +7 in volcano manor after killing noble, the one in Nokstella after giving fingerslayer blade to ranni or the one in forbidden lands after morgott
Dang so only the volcano manor one is doable without two shardbearers defeated, thanks!
I wanted you to say Oh look! A one eyed serpent hunter spear!
You are a comedic genius
haha sorry to take the easy route on that one, honestly I just didn't want to rev up CE when the results would have potentially been the same
9:17 “unhappy bunga my way through it” is most of my elden ring play through
Unga bunga is always the way, happy or otherwise :P
Is the reference Combustion man from ATLA?
Anyways, another fantastic video, Doom Wolf. I absolutely love your content!
correct! and thanks, glad you enjoy it :)
You can get two serpent hunters by doing a glitch. If you want to do it here is what to do.Discard serpent hunter if you already have it and the invaders in front of the fog wall and when it says invading world then go into the boss room take the serpent hunter and after the invasion go back in the boss room and there will be a second one 👌🏻
neat! not sure if Id ever have a chance to use it but that is cool!
I appreciate the ATLA reference. Sparky Sparky Boom Man was great.
I'm glad to see so many cultured people, knowing about ATLA still haha
I think you dodged Gurranq's boulders because the blast just about pushed you out of the way with the recoil, which is incredible
This is likely, but iirc there was unshown footage where I tested by holding the shot until after it should have hit me but still missed, maybe that was just a coincidence haha, but this is the most logical explanation
The comeback of "That will cost you extra" was not missed
it's become my favorite thing for enemies to say lmao
Your videos make me happy
I'm glad my friend :)
what some folks forget is that the challenge is supposed to come from using an off weapon or playing in a funky way, not getting the weapon itself
true, I just like getting the weapon legit because some people try my runs after I make a video, so by cheating it in early I have limited who can get it to PC users (and even then PC users willing to use cheat engine lol)
I randomly found this shield during my third play through, coincidentally using greatshields
The NPC holding it barely used it so I didn't know what was it's quirk until I took it
I was physically in awe when I fired a fireball and it exploded on a wall, the sound was magnificent
Long story short, it's now my favourite shield
It really is a chunky good sound effect. Personally I'm not a fan of the way it looks, but the fireball is amazing haha
14:40 He's near immune to fire damage because he has fire coursing through his veins at all times (bloodflame, duh)
So then...why is he horribly weak to bleed? Lol
@@DoomWolfOfficial Seems like his sugar mommy doesn't care who bleeds so long as the job's done
@@DoomWolfOfficial the lore says that the formless mother gains power from wounds, also he might get a boost when someone bleeds nearby, but I’m not 100% sure about that
yet another great and entertaining video
Glad you enjoyed it my friend :)
The reference is most likely the three-eyed guy from Avatar: The Last Airbender
I'm glad to see people still know ATLA :)
Cultured golden boy reference, you win a sub
haha thanks my friend :)
Guess I should just learn the noble skip lol
Love the avatar reference ( at least that is what I think the reference is )
it is, glad you got it :)
I don't know about speed runners but you can get a somber 7 by killing that astel like enemy in the way to nokron or you can farm in the giant hands before the dung eater cell
thanks for the info!
As the Bloodborne Powderkegs once said "If it ain't got kick, it ain't worth it."
Ha, ya know what. Fair
I tend to never do glitches in my runs (obviously here i straight up cheated something in but still lol)
there's a 9 in Dragonbarrow, it's at the base of Caelid's Divine tower (it's the one I get in the video)
8:10 Flame Spit actually has mild homing if used with lock on.
I saw it happen again in the Niall fight (though I didn't show that), so yeah, checks out lol
The goat strikes again
Just wait until I make a ram ash of war only run lol
"Big explosion make me big happy" a man by my own heart
I'm a simple man, what can I say lol
That was the most explosive defense I’ve ever seen
Ayyyy good pun! Haha
I always just grab the somber 7 at the bottom of sewers with the crayfish guys. Just use sleep pots to sleep them.
That a good one, I don't remember why but I might have had a narrative reason here for not going that way?
0:21 this is gold
glad you liked that joke lol
Mohg is resistant to fire because there's something in the game that says his blood was lit on fire by the formless mother, so I guess he's into that or something.
well, I can dig being into that, but why then is he so weak to bleed lol
I feel you man doing an incan only run you have to get into leyndell for the catacombs or kill the godskin noble without the cheese
Early like if you went for radhann then just get the other one
It can be difficult yeah haha
this video predicted the bigmouth imps from shadow of the erdtree
unintentional lol
because of this video I have started my friends saying "oh jeff~~" when they're going to find an enemy to kill in games
HA! Love it!
At 13:11 it seems everyone else was mocking while Godfrey genuinely meant it
Godfrey has honor among warriors
Pretty much no one will care if you cheat it in, we all just come here for comedy and suffering! Which you do both extremely well, good luck!
yeah that's what I've gathered, I was expecting at least one person to say something, but no one did lol
I imagine Mog is so resistant to fire because of his Blood Flame abilities. Working so closely with both kinds of damage makes you resistant to it.
but he's super weak to bleed lol
The Kintaro "Golden Boy" was unexpected. I didnt know you were a Mechwarrior fan.
so few people have mentioned that, I'm kind of surprised lol
Doom Wolf, that's a name I like to see.
Doom Guy, also a name I like to see
Haha, like the part you say: “Knock, knock.” And the enemies should say “Who’s there?” Really good joke.
it's a classic!
I know, right? 😀
You know what would be cool is if he beat it with only tongues of fire
I did add this to my notes, so maybe some day!
great video!
Thanks, glad you enjoyed it :)
@@DoomWolfOfficial i heard if you press up down up down left right install cheat engine you can force him to stand still :p
Bloodhound fang ur way through godskin noble in volcano major and get it, I swear that weapon is op. I guess it would be hard in a "this weapon only" run
Ya know, i've heard good things about that weapon but never used it lol
the true challange of most of the games is, that you need a friend
an impossible run to be sure lol
@@DoomWolfOfficial sadly yes
Random idea I had for a challenge if your up for it: How lazy can you(r character) play to beat elden ring? Or at least for bosses and significant fights, but like basically letting summons do all the work for you, overlevelling defensive stuff, using shields and just walking around the arena, and using cheese strats everywhere you can lmao. idk, I can see it becoming tedious but it did sound like it could be fun and make for interesting content, who knows
well, I do have the "summons only" idea written, going the extra mile to make it lazy only might not be so hard haha
This actually seems like a really fun run
It was a lot more fun than I thought it would be, and you can push it even further with flame grant me strength too
@@DoomWolfOfficial I definitely wanna give the shield a try!
I think better way of getting the Filigreed talisman would have been going to mistwood, go to Kale, get snap emote, go back, talk to Blaid, then go kill Darwill bloodhound knight with Blaidd. After that you talk to Blaidd, get free Somber 2 and then he tells you he knows a smith in liurnia and you talk to Iji, exhaust the dialogs and behold, he sells the Filigreed Talisman.
he needed somber 7 from ranni quest it was better to get it after lorreta
This is true! ...but it is much faster to punch loretta in the face and talk to Ranni lol
Margitt really did underestimate the extent of both your foolishness and ambition.
I feel like at this point Margit (and the other bosses) see me come in and think "what dumb shit is he doing now" lol
I did it but not at RL1 and at that point I didn't find any safe opprotunies to attack.
i noticed one where he stomped first and then swung, there _might_ be enough time to do something in that, but I didn't check.
a lot of people commented saying for Hoarah Loux you can actually avoid his grabs using dragon maw or claw, I don't....it never worked for me but they said if you time it right you're just immune to the grab. idk haha
Mohg lord of blood. Weak to bleed, nearly immune to fire
This is a more accurate name for him lol
Literally bringing a gun to a sword fight
hey it isn't my fault the enemies are stupid lol
From what I have gathered, it is the Nobel skip that people use, guess I should learn it lol
I think it missed bc when he throws it ur low to the ground, so the rock doesn't go as high and falls juuuuust short
This is possible, and if so I love those kind of interactions haha
Somber 7s in the bottom of Lyndell sewers so I thinks it's either GS nobs or the Draco tree sentinel are the hurdle to get 7s early on. But Varre knows I'm know expert
the problem with the sewer 7 was that I hadn't beaten two shardbearers so I couldn't get there yet D:
but I think you're right
