Funn fact:: Around the time the song Hatred was being recorded, singer Eric Adams learned that the recording company was charging them twice as much as other bands. While he was angry and shaking all over, Joey came to him and told him to use the energy. To imagine that bastard in the recording company and put that rage into the record. Eric done it on the first go :-)

Should have picked the Imperial Edition, Eric sounds sooo much clearer - so many details in his voice you can't hear in the original version here

Im an original metal head from the early 80s greatest time for metal. It was new. Every band had their own style. Now days alot sound the same imo. Thanks for the vid

This is my favourite Manowar album with hatred being the stand out track for me , Manowar viking metal long before viking metal existed 🤘
Yeah Hatred and Gates of Valhalla are both early viking tracks. great songs

I'm always fine with some ManOWar, They be my Barbarians of old..lol Especially their early work early work really thrills me, culminating with my favorite song Blow Your Speakers. Thier sound was really taking full shape with this one, and I love that old school sound. Some sick riffs for sure,

To really complete your reaction to this album you should react to the "Defender"-single which was recorded in the same session but did'nt made it onto this album for some reason...
Really great stuff with Orson Wells and a lot of Zeppelin-flair at the end.
(Don't accidently pick the castrated Defender version that came ot 3 albums later.... )

A note on production, there are a newly remastered versions of this album and the next (Hail to England) from 2019 where they take the original recordings but use modern mixing technology. They would be labelled as "Imperial Edition MMXIX". They add in the studio chatter from their recordings, though. If you ever do Hail to England, try listening to the Imperial Edition.

@@TheMetalJunkie the imperial versions has better sound, but not that authentic to the the time they were recorded. It has a different feeling.
