- How I truly miss these days and miss the CBS of this era (Channel 10 in Philly was my area's CBS at the time). When TV was worth watching and when jingles were just as cool as pop music on the radio.
the February 1979 sweeps period was a crucial one for CBS and NBC as both networks lost their affiliates to ABC in the past months.
0:59 - The only one comedy series that got picked up and became an instant hit, a feat that would last the next six years: The Dukes of Hazzard.
Did you not notice MASH, the Jeffersons, or All in the Family? All were *_HYUUUUUUGE!_*
I can never get whether ABC did Wonder Woman but love the nostalgia of YT 😊
@@whiterabbit75I know that already. I was referring to the latter show out of the three that premiered by early 1979 and lasted longer than “Flatbush” and “Co-Ed Fever”.
@@dougfredricks2017ABC carried the first season of Wonder Woman.
I saw the thumbnail, and immediately in my head, I heard, "Making their waaaayyyy the only way they know how! That's just a little bit more than the law allows."
The late Danny "Superman" Dark providing the VO at the end.
Great TV lineup!
"CO-ED FEVER" lasted ONE episode (as a "sneak preview" following a "special movie presentation" of "Rocky" on February 4, 1979); "FLATBUSH" was on for THREE episodes.
Funny thing, though...I didn't see "Good Times" in this promo. Thankfully, "Good Times" returned to CBS' schedule in May of '79 to finish out the remainder of its sixth (and final) season.
It was used in the midseason of 1979.
I don't remember this jingle I thought in '79 and '80 it was you're looking good with CBS
The 1979-80 season had the "You're Looking Good" campaign. The following season came "Looking Good Together".
"We're Coming On" was the promo used by CBS for the February sweeps period of 1979.
We"re Channel 8 We"re coming On KLAS-TV Las Vegas Nevada
1:24 - Bob Hope in a CBS promo?! And the clip is, I'm almost certain, from a "Tonight Show" appearance...Bob must have been a prominent guest star in one of those Feb sweeps specials.....
This promo is very rare.
I'm crazy about Ron Leibman so it's a bummer that there are no reruns of Kaz.
the voice at the end was Danny Dark huh?????!!!...before he went to NBC
My Areas CBS was also WCAU Channel 10 Now NBC
Now NBC took over WCAU and now CBS is KYW 3
But CBS had some great shows back then
Oh my god, Co-Ed Fever is in this promo!
I hope y’all will reply to this I was surprised to see Bob Hope in this promo I thought he was under contract with NBC
Do we know the singers and/or production company recording the jingle?
I hope y'all will reply to this I watched M*A*S*H All in the Family Alice WKRP in Cincinnati The Dukes of Hazzard Peanuts and the Bugs Bunny Roadrunner Show...I still like Peanuts and Bugs Bunny and friends though I'm almost 55 years old
