I miss those promos when we only had three channels and UHF with a few more. Sometimes at night I could get New York stations as my bedroom was on the third floor of our house. Now we have so many cable channels with little to watch. I miss those days before cable diluted television. I had not realized there were so many good shows back in the days before cable.
Oh I miss these days when you had to be home by a certain time because one of your shows was coming on it you would miss it. It's funny how we look back at our childhood as the very best of times but our parents thought the world was going crazy and that their younger years were the best times.
Words cannot describe the EPIC compilation brought before us... The sheer volume of love has no bounds. Thank You for your extreme efforts. I can go happily now...The Eightiesgod has spoken...
Fred I bet your home is decorated like it's 1974.lol!!!! Thanks for taking the time to bring us these time travel videos so we all can take a trip down memory lane.
I remember so much of this. makes me think how big the big three really were and how things have changed. You used to be able to strike a conversation with someone about tv shows but now your lucky to find one friend that watches what you like to watch. Don't get me wrong! I do like the selections of today's cable/Internet, here we are on UA-cam watching this 🙄 wish I could watch some of the shows on these teasers. -Thanx Fred for the beautiful videos!!
Some ABC stations had a promo based on the Orleans song "Still The One" (You're still having fun, and we're still the one) During the jingle they show some of the station staff. Our local station, channel 13 Rockford, used that promo.
Ah, the days when networks mattered. When the Big Three competed for viewers with just each other. When slogans like "Let's All Be There!" and "We've Got The Touch" were meant to get viewers to have an affinity for a network. When a network's stars got together to do promos. Different era.
I could recall my parents seeing the TV series of "Logan's Run". Although, I've seen the 1976 movie a few times (my latest time was on Blu-ray) but a little of the series. Maybe I might get the DVD, release sooner or later. 00:00 I recall seeing a "shortened" version of this. 21:38 I remember that commercial bumper, it must've been my 2nd or 3rd time in my life that I've seen "The Wizard of Oz". 26:02 I remember that bumper when NBC showed a movie. 26:08 Something I remember back in the day, but hardly heard about these days. 37:09 One of the shows I've seen back in the day. 43:25 One of my fond memories of Saturday morning cartoons.
I'm back Fred! I know you've been posting big bro and I'm behind a little bit. I've been playing resident evil 7 and got hooked on it, such a good game! 👍 However, I'm here now and ready to watch some Friday Night Goodies! Oh let me get some popcorn and like always, thanks Fred! 😉
Alice? Well, to each his own. I don't like '80s TV either. But as a compiler of TV treasures the '60s and '70s have been all but mined out, unless someone strikes a new vein.
TimelordR I was only busting your chops a little. I still watch Classic Who on MeTV network. For me, it is the ONLY Who. I tried watching the New Who and felt it deviated too much from my idea of what the show should be like. Then again I am in my Forties and prefer classic tv shows of my youth. To me, DW was about an anti-hero type. It just is geared to mass appeal. Not the way I remembered it back in the 80s.
16:36 I remember the "pot" episode of The Nancy Walker Show . VERY bold and daring ; because it was not a "very special" warning show. LOL. I think the "joke" was , someone replaced the pot with regular tobacco - and Nancy & husband smoked it - and were acting all "high" but they really were not. Blansky's Beauties was a better show for her. Holy moly - Nancy was BUSY during the mid to late 1970s !! Rhoda , Rosie's paper towels, McMillan and Wife, etc.
like i let everyone know FredFlix you all can make copies of my videos i upload to my Bill Green youtube video channel and facebook williamp all for free cause i care to share freely what God gave me freely way before there was ever a world wide internet ps but im thankful to Jesus there now is a world wide internet to share all the knoledge tvmagic specials
Only 3 channels but there was always something worth watching.

Me2. Great times. If nothing was on TV. Time to shut it off. Go do something else.
@@supercoolyguy Same here, if there was nothing on worth watching the few channels we had I went outside to ride my bike or over to a friends house.
Today, they don’t want voice over promo’s like they did in the 80’s, but I love them.
My generation when television was worth watching ❤️

Ironic how when we had 7 channels there was much more on tv. Now that we have thousands, you can't find anything.
I don’t know how many times I have seen this video, but it brings back the best memories of my life. Thank you so much for posting!!

Glad you enjoyed it, Eighties God.
Incredible work compiling this. Remember when you used to actually get excited for the new fall shows?
Especially in the '60s with new shows like Man From UNCLE, Jonny Quest and Star Trek coming on for the first time.
Yes but sad too cuz it meant summer was almost over

OMG I love every minute of this. Brings such amzing memories. Thank You.
You're welcome, Gary.
Amazing how small t.v. Used to be. Three networks. And one local channel.
Thanks for the good memories. We have seen many of these shows here in my country.
What country is that?
Ecuador
Nice. Thanks for watching.

RIP Miss Moran! In addition to her in the Happy Days promo... I believe that's her at 1:21! Sadly, There are many performers we lost in that promo!
Ed Asner passed away at 82 today 8/28/21.
@@luisreyes1963 Thank You for the info! Just saw that last night! RIP Mr. Asner!
That's the way tv when I was a kid the good old days

Love Suzanne Somers!!!!!!! A very funny, real person with a sense of humor!!!!!! Keep it up, Suzanne!!!!!!

That opening song and dance needs to be uploaded in its' entirety - with CC of course!
The movie Shootists, a great John Wayne! MASH, Trapper John, Chips, kojack, Columbo, Rockford Files, and the Jeffersons.
41:19 Has it really been 30 years since ST:TNG debuted in first-run syndication? My, how time has flown...
The ABC promo in the beginning had to have been from 1980.
Damn, guess I missed these out partying in the 80s. Thank God for handheld tvs now. ;)
Tom Hanks at 1:07.
So many dead people RIP to all.
"HIgh Performance" - I didn't see reference of that ANYWHERE else on YT.
Looking back at these shows and how desperate networks were to keep original shows going by making spin-offs that were way too stupid.
That ET promo, from the way it sounds, might have been from the mid-to-late 80s.
21:29 Shatner raids Cosby's sweater closet.
What? A “Hunter” promo with no Stepfanie Kramer? This blows.
Was that Kenny Rogers singing We Got The Touch On CBS?
i miss the block N
I thought the song in the beginning was "on Broadway" by George Benson for a second.
That was some funky shit at the beginning.
Can you imagine, say, Lena Dunham and Peter Dinklage, doing a song-and-dance bit like that to promote HBO?
At 3:17 there's a brief flash of an ad for "Night of the Comet." You love to see it.
When shows were good and clean.
I"m embarrassed for the "stars" in the opening of this.
Cringeworthy, wasn't it? 😅
How old are these promos?
Tom Hanks appearance @ 1:25
now you can see where australia get its ideas from
it was so exciting! !
MICHAEL BAY, WHERE'S MY FALL GUY MOVIE?
Only if they can coax Dwayne Johnson to play the lead.
Best of the West---didn't last a whole season. Lucky for Joel Higgins Silver Spoons showed up the following season.
For the love of god, someone please make networks bring back the cheese as hell 'You and Me' type promos.
Just trying to get through that first big ABC promo without hearing ‘On Broadway.’ Finding it hard.
ABC Television, used to Promote a Lot of Great Music and Entertainment
Where are Pam Dawber and Robin Williams from Mork & Mindy?
33:44 Joe Don Baker IS Mittens!
I would love to see modern day redoing of this. All the stars of Fox(or NBC) doing a song & dance together.
Yeah, right. 😆
For me, the 80's wasn't my favorite time for TV since the only shows I remember were Darkroom, The Twilight Zone, V and of course, Alice.
Alice? Well, to each his own. I don't like '80s TV either. But as a compiler of TV treasures the '60s and '70s have been all but mined out, unless someone strikes a new vein.
Darn nearly forgot Star Trek:TNG. Me & my brother used to watch it when it was on.
TimelordR What!!! You did not watch Classic Doctor Who? Shame on you!!
rangers199487 I did watch Doctor Who back then & I still do to this very day. Never doubt a Timelord....

and if it was a clear night, you got 4 channels to come in
4:00 This is the voice of Len Gochman.
I get it I'll see something else on You Tube
Good lord. That first bit is beyond cringe.
I liked Robert Urich in everything except as the creepy guy who tried to seduce Tabitha!
10:08 Marie Osmond in her own new series .................. FLOP !
ITS A GUY
Lol....

Way to go, Josiel. And thanks.
@ 1:27 - That guy in the lower right won’t last long in the entertainment industry. No talent.
I'm the first to comment
What's the point of this? Most of these people are dead
Please get off my channel. You obviously should be watching something else.
What's the point of Gone With The Wind? ALL of those people are dead.
What's the point of us making pointless comments to your pointless comment on this awesome gem of a video?
We'll all eventually be dead!
