Love seeing all of your projects! I can't wait for the release of the Vice Versa Shawl. I recently learned how to spin and can't wait to use my handspun for this. I knew your colorway was going to be amazing, I absolutely love a teal/brown mix. Definitely going to grab this one and Meghan's color.

Hey, thanks for sharing your insights behind the cost of sewing. I have recently acquired a sewing machine but don’t feel really inspired to sew my own clothing for many reasons. One is definitely the price of beautiful fabrics. I like to shop at linenfox a lot which is very similar to notperfectlinen and I always wondered how the cost of fabric would compare to buying ready made clothing from them. So that was very helpful. I also considered making patterns of my linenfox clothes since they fit so great and just recreating them with other fabrics.

I’m glad you found this bit helpful :) there are definitely ways to sew your own clothes that are much more cost efficient and starter friendly too even when you’d like to use more expensive fabrics like linen - I’m always looking for secondhand fabric on fleamarkets or at thriftstores and you could also start learning on less expensive fabric and just make a few special pieces with linen whenever you feel very comfortable with your sewing! I’ve also found the berlin fabric market (featured in a blog recently) less expensive for linen 🤞🏼 anyways drafting your clothes from some you already have and love is a great idea ☺️

Wie war denn Deine Erfahrung bei BlackBird Fabrics zu bestellen - mit Zoll und allem? Ich würde da auch sooo gerne bestellen, traue mich aber immer nicht. 😅
hey! ich gehe in dem video auf die preise ein, wenn ich’s nicht ganz falsch im kopf habe 😄 also dass ich nur bestellt habe, weil es 25% rabatt gab, die dann wiederum die versand & zoll gebühren relativeren, die schon recht hoch waren
@@marleneknits Danke für die rasche Antwort. Meine Frage bezog sich eher nicht auf den Preis - der im Video vorkam - sondern auf die Erfahrung. War es umständlich zu bestellen? Wie war das mit dem Zoll? Wie meldet man Zoll an? Wann und wo werden die Gebühren fällig? Ich versuche aus der Zollseite schlau zu werden aber es ist hoffnungslos. Bisher habe ich nur bestellt wenn es innerhalb der Zollunion lag oder Customs vom Händler übernommen wurde. Ich fühle mich jedesmal wie ein Schmuggler 🫣 und will’s doch nur richtig machen. 😅
@@TheSolipsist0 achso, danke dass du das nochmal ausführst, das hatte ich nicht direkt verstanden! es ist überhaupt nicht komplizierter als in deutschland oder im eu ausland zu bestellen - es geht im ankunftsland, also hier in deutschland, dann durch den zoll, das unternehmen muss außen die inhalte des päckchens klar ausschreiben und anhand des wertes der ware wird der zoll berechnet - mehr im detail kann ich das leider auch nicht erklären, also wie viel prozent das genau sind oder wie es berechnet wird, aber meine erfahrung war so 15-25 € zoll für warne ab 100 bis 200€, mit teureren ausnahmen & gleichsam welchen, wo ich glücklicherweise nichts mehr zahle musste - gezahlt wird bar an der haustür bei übergabe von dhl (inkl 6€ auslagepauschale, die an die post geht) oder wenn es abgegeben wird bei einer station dann dort auch mit karte möglich! mach dir keine sorge, du wirst da nicht belangt, da muss sich der zoll schon selbst drum kümmern, dass er das geld von dir bekommt und das machen sie auch - aber wie gesagt, meine erfahrungen beziehen sich ausschließlich auf garn und stoff bestellungen, bei anderen waren mag das anders sein :)
