It's even harder to hell them that they have bin fooled if they drop tears of extasy while practicing around him. AS you can see in many Videos or in an experience in the Yoga center which you guys for sure do not want to See. You can have Empathy on different levels. If getting fooled feels like this is will try to get the biggest of all fools.
If I encounter people like Sadhguru......I react in such a way that I believe in him.....but my actions in practical life depend on my own discretion
But don't you think that people will be fooled by your acting of believing in him? Better option will be to not act like it but also not raise voice against them in the public to prevent harassment......

The sad thing is, Sadghuru actually gives some pretty good life advice. Where he goes wrong is making empirical claims when he's not a scientist. He should stick to the philosophical and leave the rest to science.
Thing is, anyone can give such vague advice that sounds good.
And the thing is he gives the life advice and gives some truth then he tell the wrong things that’s why people trust him. If it were all wrong no one would follow him you gotta add some truth

I agree with the video. I appreciate the work that you did. On the other hand, I use isha kriya meditation every day as a way to relax and help myself to deal with stress and it works, not because of some metaphysical power but just because it is a physical process of slowing down for me.

Hinduism is also not a religion but a way of life, you can be of any religion and live a hindu way. Gods appear only in worship rituals, where you can follow any gods or Messiah of your choice.

I would link to add that the Isha yoga practices are not invented by Sadguru, rather he learnt from his guru and school and he is using it under his name.
I don't refute his philosophical insights, but I do disagree Sadhguru when he says something about psychology and science.

After the same manner the Kshatriya, the Vaisya, and the Sudra, all become so through original creation.

302:1 Nisargat is literally through creation or original nature, or birth. Of course, what is implied is that one becomes a Brahmana, or Kshatriya, or Vaisya or Sudra, through original creation as such, by the Self-born, that is, birth.
303:1 Ugra means a fierce or cruel person. It is also applied to signify a person of a mixed caste whose occupation is the slaughter of animals in the chase. The commentator is silent. I think, the food supplied by a fierce or cruel person is meant here, What is said in this verse is that the several kinds of food spoken of here should be renounced by a good Brahmana.
303:2 The sense is this: if a Brahmana dies with any portion of the food of a Sudra, a Vaisya, or a Kshatriya in his stomach, in his next life he has to take birth as a Sudra, a Vaisya, or a Kshatriya. If, again, during life he subsists upon food supplied to him by a Sudra, a Vaisya, or a Kshatriya, he has to take birth in his next life as a Sudra, a Vaisya, or a Kshatriya.
we see it's clearly stating that caste is based on birth😶. Okay I'll give you one more to elaborate my view.
i) Padma Purana II.38.20b-24 “[The Sages said:] The three castes viz. brahmanas, kṣatriyas and Vaishyas are twice born. This (i.e. the Veda) is an ancient sacred text meant for all the castes. The beings behave according to the Vedic practices; therefor they (continue to) live. You are born in the family of Brahman. (So) you are a brahmana only.” Tr. N.A. Deshpande
ii) Gita 18.41 “Of Brahmanas, Kshatriyas and Vaishyas, as also the Sudras, O Arjuna, the duties are distributed according to the qualities born of their own nature.” Tr. Swami Prabhupada
Ramanuja Acharya writes on this verse,
”The character of Brahmanas, Kshatriyas, Vaishyas, and Sudras arise from their various inherent dispositions. In other words, their past Karma is the cause of their being born in a specific social group…”
Swami Swarupananda writes on Gita 18.41,
“According to the Karma or habits and tendencies formed by desire, action, and association in the past life manifesting themselves in the present as effects. Or, nature (Svabhava) may here mean the Maya made up of three Gunas, the Prakriti of the Lord”
It is mentioned in Brahma Vaivarta Purana,
Brahma Vaivarta Purana, Krishna Janma Khanda 74.10 ”According to Karma, some go to heaven or are severally born in the houses of a Brahmin, Ksatriya, Vaisya or a Sudra.” Tr. Rajnedra Nath Sen
Chandogya Upanishad 5.10.7. ‘Those whose conduct has been good, will quickly attain some good birth, the birth of a Brahmana, or a Kshatriya, or a Vaisya. But those whose conduct has been evil, will quickly attain an evil birth, the birth of a dog, or a hog, or a Kandala.” Tr. Swami Nikhilanda

But it turns out """""KARMA""""" falls in the position, read the verses above. I gave the interpretations by Indian based translators, they're authentic.
SO. it is not based on skill; A person is birthed into a caste and needs to do his duties in his respective caste, moreover, the reason for being born into that particular category is because of his past life. So why do you say it is because of his intellect? If you want to argue, base your argument on the verses that I've stated. I cannot fathom your understanding on saying that it is skill based whilst your scholars and your translators and your scriptures teach the contrary that it is birth based and that particular birth is because of his/her past karma.
Even if when Brahmans slept with Sudra women which they did a lot in the past to fulfill their lust, in that process they used to have children. In that particular situation here are the verses that state as follows....
Mahabharata 13.48.5 The son that is begotten by a Brahmana upon a Sudra wife is called Parasara, implying one born of a corpse, for the Sudra woman’s body is as inauspicious as a corpse. He should serve the persons of his (father’s) race. Indeed, it is not proper for him to give up the duty of service that has been laid down for him.
So it even shoes that the son born to a shudra woman by a Brahmin dad, the child does not attain the caste of the father because of the Sudra woman's body as she was compared to a corpse!!! And it also states that the kid should serve showing that it is birth based and not intellect or skill.
Here is the real Hypocrisy now MANU comes along and gives this verse
"""A Shudra who has an intercourse with a woman of the higher caste guarded or unguarded shall be punished n the following manner; if she was unguarded, he loses the offending part; if she was guarded then he should be put to death and his property confiscated.” (Manu VIII. 374.)"""
A brahmin can sleep with a shudra woman but A shudra man should not sleep with an high caste woman? If that happened the genital of the shudra man should be cutt off said the verse!
Easy way to identify false teachers: “All books you have ever read and will read are wrong and made up. But you have to believe exactly what I say, simply because I say so, otherwise you’re dumb and you won’t find spiritual enlightenment without ME. You know i just noticed that people who haven't practiced meditation by themselves or looked inwardly tend to come up with these statements. Sadhguru or Jaggi Vasudev is just teaching others meditation and making people aware of some of the logical teachings of Ancient India or vedic India but the ignorant are happy sitting in their bubble or pond without getting to know about the world outside or from other people's perspective.

Hello, I am a sports nutritionist and a sadguru follower. With my honest and open mind I have experienced the benefits of yoga. It's not right, if you doesn't understand any perticular thing, it doesn't mean that it's rubbish.

The doctors have prescribed a surgical operation in which they will cut out the bulging disks. The doctors do not believe that yoga / ayurvedic therapies would help me. I have taken only 8 sessions with iyengar yoga and I am already at 50% recovery. My doctor continues to remain in denial and says that this is not what is taught in their medical schools hence if I continue down this path, I have to stop coming to his clinic. Dude, about the slip disc, better get the surgery done...I myself had this issue (L4 and L5 discs) and tried various yoga, ayurveda. The best ayurvedic treatment, Kottakkal Arya vaidyasala treated me to benefits which were temparory. You feel good for sometime and then again back to sqaure one. They scared me into saying that surgery is bad and all bullshits. But later I did that surgery, which by the way is a very small procedure nowadays, with advances in medical science. It's now years and I am perfectly alright. Fuck, I ran a marathon after that. GET THAT SURGERY DONE!!!!!!!!!

I was young and believed relatives and delayed my treatment, but the best treatement (yet there is no cure) is given by science and they never claim for any magic. While obviously not against questioning Prophets, I firmly believe its the duty of people from every religion to reform their faith. Christians did it 400 years ago and look where they are now (West Europe, USA vs catholic East Europe and South America). It is evident that we Hindus lie somewhere in the middle in the reform scale and hence not in a philosophically awkward position like Muslims. But imagine if we never reformed and customs like Sati, Vidhava keshvapan, untouchability, child marriage were going strong. And all these reformers were exactly opposite to these yogis and sadhgurus. Sadly we haven't completed this job of reform so lets improve ourself where we can and let others be inspired instead of spreading hate and cutting progress on both sides.

There is one thing I feel needs to be said. Between the people like sadghguru and the scientist and engineers. There is a huge difference. One side can say anything and get away with it. Even if they are wrong there is very little in terms of repercussions, but if the other side messes up there can be serious repercussions people can die or be injured and they can get into trouble and have to change course. One side seems to know things for centuries but have very little to show, the other side have actually been able to use the information in a meaningful way, in some cases in a tangible form.
There's legit an in-depth video by Vertisum speaking about how 80% of scientific research is actually wrong.

Most of what you said is actually right about his pseudoscience teachings, especially the eclipse part, except the last one. When he said "if it is from the west it is science , if it comes from the east it is superstition", please watch the whole video , he said it sarcastically . He is very well aware of the scientific achiements of Indians and other eastern countries which he has mentioned in other videos. But you misunderstood it .Seems like you didn't do your research well.
Secondly, his beard is not the only great thing he has. And he is not a scientist but a philosopher. He is actually against the idea of a "God". what he teaches about approaching problems in life, rational thinking , philosophy, seeking absolute truth etc, is what's great about him

He in one such instance spoke about how cows don't release methane gas or any other green house gases for that matter which we all know is wrong, so I treat his words like a buffet table I only pick what I like and avoid what I don't.

But why is it called a 'Donation'. It should be called a 'fee'. But NGOs aren't supposed to ask for fees but donations. For example, you go to a temple. mosque, church, you can donate from Rs. 1 to Rs. 1000 crore depending on what you can, that's exactly why it's tax free. Organizations like Isha and Art of Living demand a fixed fee and call it donation to enjoy the tax-free benefits. That's the most basic scam of these spiritual organizations. They commercialize it, don't pay taxes and ultimately make it a channel to rotate black money

It's donation because Isha Yoga is free in villages. A fee is supposed to be equal, unless some regulatory waivers or reservations apply.

My point is according to the commercial tax law, when a fixed amount is charged as fee, there should pay GST and TDS. But Isha and AOL come under the ambit of NGO which means they pay no GST and TDS but on the contrary they charge a fixed amount of money. I suggest read the law of Trust formation. I request you to read my comments with objectivity and no bias. Isha and AoL might have done good work, but they are flouting the systems as well, which needs to be pointed. The truth of India today is when people look at Sadhu, they think they are fooling people. And you just prove it.
You said a lot, but also nothing at the same time. Almost like trying to find a needle in a haystack. I understand the idea of healthy criticism, but when you try to criticise someone at least find something more obvious and factual. I am most certain that Sadhguru said some things in the past that are in conflict with science, but things that you mentioned are just not enough to be criticised for. I'm sure that the guy just tried to deliver his thoughts to the people the best that he could. He never charged me anything so far yet i have learnd so much from this man. I am not a fanboy, but i try to apriciate everyone who opened my mind to think, observe and seek the truth. The first thing that i heard from Sadhguru when i stumbled upon his video is something like "don't believe anything, not even what i say, just be curious and seek the truth".

The method is called The Trivium as it has three parts: acquiring data, analyzing data, and lastly presenting the data for replication. What you have stated here is an anecdote, nothing more. Anecdotes are not scientific facts. For it to be an considered actual scientific fact, randomized, double blind control studies are necessary to verify the anecdotal claim. The studies then need to be peer reviewed and published in a reputed journal to have any scientific merit whatsoever.

Sadly, humans are unable to fly without technology. Sadhguru's explanation for how levitation works is pseudoscientific gibberish. I'm not trying to be disrespectful, please hear me out. If any person in the world could demonstrate that they could levitate 1 inch in a controlled setting, they would be made world famous, and awarded 1 million dollars by the James Randy foundation. The fact that this hasn't happened, and the fact that there is no footage of this happening, proves it doesn't happen. What Sadhguru said was not true. Man cannot levitate. He knows its not true, but he still told that to a crowd that is likely to believe him unquestioningly. Do you see any problem with this?

@Kapish Agarwal There is great wisdom in these ancient mystical Indian traditions. But i must reject your notion of what you call "yogic science" . There is no such thing as "yogic science" just like there is no "christian science" or "American science" Science is science. anything else is psudo. If so called "yogic science" could actually stand up to legitimate peer review, and the scientific method, It would be accepted as legitimate. But it can't, and it won't be. So, calling it "yogic science" is entirely misleading. There is nothing scientific about starting with a conclusion, and working towards it to reach your conclusion. Claiming that levitation is possible is an extraordinary claim, and one would be foolish to believe it with no evidence. People can't levitate. that's evident. Sadhguru knows that. Yet, he makes up stories about yogis levitating off the ground to impress his followers. When he tells a weird lie such as that, it makes me question his motives and authenticity.
At this point I am feeling the community of people following Sadhguru blindly is getting out if hand.... downright dangerous.
I like some of his views and ideas....but some people are fanatics and make it their entire goal to defend him and spread his views to anyone and everyone.
