To come back and become champion at his age and size is an incredible story and as a kid I looked up to George Foreman for being a great boxer and an overall great man. Read his biography years ago and learned a lot about the man. George Foreman is an American icon.
@philmccrackin9260 Guys like him do worry my because they take so much punishment and keep fighting. George Chuvalo, in his older, years seemed to be on a mental decline but it is hard to say how much was just due to age related decline. Jake LaMotta, arguably the best chin ever, was extremely sharp into his 90's. Jake tool an unbelievable about of punishment in his career. I am not sure what became of Texas Cob after boxing. He is another that although lacking skill just could not be hurt.

That Cooney "walk through uppercut" was just brutal! Then he hit him again with right cross as he was falling! Cooney looked like he died as he was falling!!!
Não havia mais necessidade do cruzado, Foreman era perverso e os fãs adoram este tipo de comportamento. Poderia ter matado Cooney. Isso seria realmente bom para o esporte?
There was no need for the crusader anymore, Foreman was viciou and fans love this linda of behavior. He could haver killed Cooney. Would that really be good for the sport?
One of my favorite knockouts ever. The walking uppercut. And that moment right after, when referee Joe Cortez and the commentators already know that Cooney is out, but George had to know for sure and end it right then and there and throws another right hand.
One can only say....what a journey George Foreman had, from a slugger to Minister to again a boxer. Second time around a more patient hard hitting person. I'm very glad we still have one of the 70's great boxers around...truly a great.
It wasn't just his power. George was a much craftier fighter than people realize. He would set traps, feint, and do all sorts of things to dupe guys into moving a certain way, take certain levels of punishment to lull a fighter into doing the same thing over and over again, forcing them to duck when they didn't need to, or thinking they could walk into him. Then he'd have the hammer ready. How...the heck...did Sekorski stay up after eating at least 3 dozen, unblocked monster punches from Foreman?!
It’s weird how he appears slow yet his hands are literally flying. Very planted heavy puncher. He put So much weight behind the punch it’s hard to get a feeling of how fast and hard those hands are moving.
He made the mistake of just wasting away his stamina throwing bombs against Ali and he reflected for 10 years and figured out that he could just fight more relaxed and make his shots count rather than throwing all your weight on them in a swarmer boxing style. Even being slightly overweight when he was older, he could fight for much longer in comparison to his first tenure. This time, he still had a granite chin and a lot more wisdom and experience behind him, he just had to make sure not to waste energy for nothing and connect his shots well.
I have a cobblers Anvil, and I wanted to understand George's punch, so I went outside and punched a tree with it, and even at low speeds the impact is major and jarring
WOW! Didn't know that, but it makes sense! I remember Gil Clancy making the comment that Moorer got 14 stitches in the lip from that one pig punch 👊 🥊.
I haven't seen a more effortless puncher than George Foreman Incredible technique and shifting of weight transfer. He really mastered it. He was taught so well
The Cooney fight how Foreman walks out does a small shimmy and then smash! Uppercut. And then gives him the goodnight kiss with the cross! Oh baby Forman is the man
I'm so glad that fate conspired to give big George a redemption arc. Having been born in '75, I missed out on seeing all the hate that "Mean" George had accrued and I couldn't understand why all the older generations of fight fans were so strong in their dislike of him. All I knew was the big ol' "Teddy Bear" George, that I instantly liked. As I grew and learned of George's personal history, and how he conducted himself when he was a much angrier young man, I really got to appreciate just how far he had progressed as a human being. It says so much about his transformation that he eventually even won over all the older guys that I knew, who were just watching his comeback fights in the hopes of seeing him get his ass knocked off. Now that I am older than George was at the time of his second championship reign, I can truly appreciate what an astounding physical feat that it truly was. All hail King George!
Just imagine the feeling of despair in that ring when you are a trained heavyweight and after dishing out everything you got, the man just keeps on chasing you, literally unfazed. I bet it was like a horror movie for some of these fighters like you're fighting jason vorhees or something
At 45 years of age, this man was STILL a "wreaking machine"! Imagine how absurd his strength was in his prime! It's no wonder Ali winning against Foreman in "The Rumble in the Jungle" was so huge!
Foreman coming back to win really proved how great the old fighters were. Muhammad Ali, Joe Frazier, George Foreman. All three of them were GOAT and had to fight each other. Joe Frazier only ever lost to two people. Muhammad Ali and George Foreman. His only losses lol. And he actually beat Muhammad Ali once.
Watching the Moore knockout in real time, with the original camera angle, you asked yourself did Moore take a dive? But then the side view of it shows just how brutal of a punch he was hit with
Moore was well ahead on points but the round before the knockout was when George started landing some good rights. However he wants really putting everything into them. He was getting the timing down and making Moore think that was the best he had. Moore had a false sense that George had nothing left and fell right into the trap. I recall George throwing a lazy jab and then throwing a right in which you could see his hip turn with the punch. Moore never knew what hit him.
Totally agree. The first time I saw this I was like what the fu... But then from the other angle you understand why. Also, just looking at Moorer's face. And I've heard that punch was so hard, that it actually broken Moorer's mouthpiece in half. And looking at the Frazier fight, when George becomes the heavyweight champion for the first time. Joe goes down after the seemingly light punches as well. Big George was the definition of heavy handed.
Always loved how he would immediately walk away and go to his corner after every knockout. No shttalking or bad sportsmanship, just straight professionalism
You know George Foreman's special when you even play fight night round 4 and fight night champion and you get both the George Foreman's, The Young Big Prime George Foreman and The Old Big George Foreman and both versions of him is a knockout artist and extremely powerful and extremely heavy handed with every punch and blow the man himself ever throws🥊🥊🥊🥊🥊 was heavyweight champion at 24 and came back and won the heavyweight belt/title at 45🥊🥊🥊🥊🥊
No matter what you think of Teddy Atlas, the man saw exactly what George was trying to do. Moorer had that fight in the bag. All he had to do was listen to his trainer. George played on his arrogance, and let him believe he could bang with him. Superb tactics. Just superb.
Anyone seen the movie yet? I am hoping to soon. I was young child during his first stent. But I really loved seeing him in his comeback years. What an amazing story he is.
It's said that George was the hardest hitting boxer to grace the ring. They may not look fancy or showy, but there's an insane amount of heft in them. His jab was lethal.
OMG el upercut a geri cooney es de leyenda ...uff menuda ejecucion andando y rematando con el directo ...foreman es historia viva del boxeo mundial ..un heroe de la humanidad ..
Nobody EVER ate punches like that from Foreman. I had never seen that fight and I am floored by that man’s durability. Holy shit can you imagine how long he was having migraines after that fight?
What was dangerous about Foreman was not only his raw power but how he delivered his punches, he would mix lightning fast jabs with devastating hooks and uppercuts. He would purposely change the speed of his punches to throw boxers off. His punching speed was deceptively quick for a big man. Some of these boxers didn't even see some of those punches coming. He was very good at finishing off his opponents, if he tagged you , you can rest assure a finishing blow was coming. What makes Big George one of the best stories in boxing and one of the greatest ever is heart , his heart was even bigger then he was.
Mr Foreman's strength during his comeback after retiring in 1977, in my opinion, he somehow channeled Ali's precision punches, Frazier's toughness and combined with Mr Foreman's strength finally created a truly powerful and compassionate man of all time.
George's strength was absolutely awesome to watch, he was a much better boxer second time round as he developed guile and tactics, brings a smile to my face every time I watch him, absolute gentleman!!!
Anyone who could last a few rounds against Big George is worthy of tons of respect. George was a frightening puncher.

@@abo3258 actually that is impressive
@@smackingnoobsonfriday134 furry getting cooked by 70s George
To come back and become champion at his age and size is an incredible story and as a kid I looked up to George Foreman for being a great boxer and an overall great man. Read his biography years ago and learned a lot about the man. George Foreman is an American icon.
The guy in the white trunks was unreal. He took so many brutal shots but never went down.
@@bobbywise2313 Jake LaMotta had that Roman centurion strength in him.
@@bobbywise2313 Tex became a movie actor.
Bruh foreman punches is cutting up your damn face wtf
@@bobbywise2313yea guys like him don’t want the fans to waste there money so fans are hypocritical at times because if he quits people wasted there money if he stays an fights an takes a beating is better for the fans because it will be just a loss not a quit that’s why some of them take the beating
Knocked him into cartoon land.
Cooney landed like he was thrown from a helicopter
The Cooney knockout gets me every time
Yeah that was tough to watch, though I have many times. I'm amazing he lived
One of my favorite knockouts ever. The walking uppercut. And that moment right after, when referee Joe Cortez and the commentators already know that Cooney is out, but George had to know for sure and end it right then and there and throws another right hand.
Cooney still can feel those shots 😅
Cooney’s great grandchildren will still feel that last one.
Agree, just brutal lol Also love the Tyson Marvis Frazier KO.
One can only say....what a journey George Foreman had, from a slugger to Minister to again a boxer. Second time around a more patient hard hitting person. I'm very glad we still have one of the 70's great boxers around...truly a great.
The only guy to have two seperate careers with both being immensely successful
Ali also had two different careers. The crazy fast butterfly of the 1960s, and after his three year exile he came back as a boxer/bruiser.
He has two more careers: he became a preacher, and a businessman. He was immensely successful in those careers too.
Sneaky ass combos
Yup, looks very slow but the power just kills you.
@@fuckzogtubeyou just described the the best boxer in history
He’s in his 40s and he still hits like a beast
U seen him hitting the bag at 70?
Big George Foreman, thrilling and willing whether punching or grilling !
Bars
Even a 45 yr old George foreman would of knocked out all the current top heavyweights today . .
Amazing legend of a boxer
I remember Moorer's handler saying that last punch broke his mouthguard in two! I've NEVER heard of such a thing.
WOW! Didn't know that, but it makes sense! I remember Gil Clancy making the comment that Moorer got 14 stitches in the lip from that one pig punch 👊 🥊.
Whoa
You can actually see his mouth gaurd fly out of his mouth! It's insane!
BRO WHAT
After 9 rounds, Moorer was ahead on all 3 scorecards .... he did give George a heck of a fight ....
Teddy Atlas warned Michael Moorer about what George was going to knock him out! 7:35
He is Best Heavyweight Boxer on the Planet 👊👊
I haven't seen a more effortless puncher than George Foreman
Incredible technique and shifting of weight transfer. He really mastered it. He was taught so well
He knocks out guys and makes It look easy
It wasn't effortless back in the seventies.
That Moorer knockout will never get old for me.
I'm glad this was given to me. I was just watching some of his fights and forgot how phenomenal he was in the ring
“Don’t stay there because he’s looking to set you up with one shot” so what does Moorer do?
He stays there😂😂
Fighting Foreman was like fighting a tank or slab of super heavy concrete.
He just mows you down.
Just imagine the feeling of despair in that ring when you are a trained heavyweight and after dishing out everything you got, the man just keeps on chasing you, literally unfazed. I bet it was like a horror movie for some of these fighters like you're fighting jason vorhees or something
A slab of super-heavy concrete that keeps hitting you in the face with the butt-end of a 2x4.
Its more like fighting someone thats hitting you with a sledgehammer and you have to suck it up and pretend it didnt hurt.
Not to mention that wrecking ball for a head! 😬
but Ali is an anti tank bazooka😅
Foreman doesn't have a jab, but rather a sledgehammer in his right hand. One of the most spectacular knockouts in boxing history.
Gerry Cooney was very tough fighter! He took so many clean punches 😮
I think George was actually stronger during his comeback.
God Bless George Foreman.
Yes
The way he approaches a match is refreshing. All business, no showboating just getting down to it.
George has a ton of knockouts where it didn't look like a hard shot but the guy goes down, he's got tons of power
Hbo Legendary nights featured this fight. It shows another angle of Moorer trying to get up, and his eyes were totally crossed
Yeah the fight was fixed. I fixed it with a right hand. ~Big Gorge
He'd give anyone a fight.....strong,and tough as old boots.Love watching him.
he NEVER needed to step into his own punches being so grounded with his strength... is like he was just throwing Bricks into faces 😅😅
Always loved how he would immediately walk away and go to his corner after every knockout. No shttalking or bad sportsmanship, just straight professionalism
To think that this fantastic boxer who is simply a tank and in his youthful years was outwitted and knocked out by Ali . Unbelievable.
I am old enough to have seen George right from his beginning. Thank you George for decades of superb entertainment
This guy is larger than life ❤
FOREMAN is Number One ❤
Foremans combos are actually super slick
You know George Foreman's special when you even play fight night round 4 and fight night champion and you get both the George Foreman's, The Young Big Prime George Foreman and The Old Big George Foreman and both versions of him is a knockout artist and extremely powerful and extremely heavy handed with every punch and blow the man himself ever throws🥊🥊🥊🥊🥊 was heavyweight champion at 24 and came back and won the heavyweight belt/title at 45🥊🥊🥊🥊🥊
The man was just so strong...I love watching big George work
That's what they all say🤪😝
Very cool, great editing, no stupid music, just the announcer when needed. The greatest comeback ever !!
The ko of Cooney is for me the best ko of all time. George Foreman blows away Jerry Cooney. Classic.
What are you , like 15 ?
@tomhearns143 mental help you need
No matter what you think of Teddy Atlas, the man saw exactly what George was trying to do. Moorer had that fight in the bag. All he had to do was listen to his trainer. George played on his arrogance, and let him believe he could bang with him. Superb tactics. Just superb.
Big George! ❤
Foreman is my all-time favorite
Its insane that even his jabs were power punches. Basically snapped everyone's head back with a jab. I imagine its like getting hit by a log.
George Forman should be an inspiration to anyone who is down and out, if you believe in yourself and put in the effort you can come back.
Anyone seen the movie yet? I am hoping to soon. I was young child during his first stent. But I really loved seeing him in his comeback years. What an amazing story he is.
I want to see it, too
Great movie
It's said that George was the hardest hitting boxer to grace the ring. They may not look fancy or showy, but there's an insane amount of heft in them. His jab was lethal.
OMG el upercut a geri cooney es de leyenda ...uff menuda ejecucion andando y rematando con el directo ...foreman es historia viva del boxeo mundial ..un heroe de la humanidad ..
Moorer learned a lesson for standing flat footed in front of big George Forman.
Moorer looked good when he was moving and boxing.
Absolute Monster of a fighter... He just uses his size to his advantage
he's not even that big.. 6'3" 220lbs.. very weak HW era.
BIG George....on the short list of the most powerful men to ever enter the ring
Big George, biggest puncher, nicest guy in boxing history
Effortlessly powerful
Legend ever. Top 30 ever. Always had own style. Great
Top 30?!!!????!! I think more like top 5, or top 8 at worst...
@@milojanis4901 There's so many great boxers a lot of people don't know about. Top 30 is a huge compliment.
Big George deserves his name.
One of the best punches devasting KO heavyweight next to sunny listen to ever live. That right hand left hook is mean & nasty!
I like the way that after George delivers the big blow he just stands there like, “Well, that oughta do it”. 😂
Sekorski was 35+lbs lighter and was still able to take those punches on his feet. Wild. George was an absolute monster.
Nobody EVER ate punches like that from Foreman. I had never seen that fight and I am floored by that man’s durability. Holy shit can you imagine how long he was having migraines after that fight?
@@MechAdv Check out Foreman vs Chuvalo. George was bombing him badly, but he didn't go down.
Those people getting drunk on punches 😂😂😂 ... Brutal!
He’s the Walking living Tank. Each shot he threw was so powerful you can see each blow doing damage.
The GOAT. Ali said it himself, if George beat Moorer.
I had not heard Ali say that,,,, but if he did the most truthful thing he ever said.
Simply Best 3 Boxer of all Time.... Ali , Tyson , Foreman
PRA MIM UM DOS MAIORES LUTADORES DE TODOS OS TEMPOS. DENTRO DO RING E FORA DELE TAMBEM
E Maguila foi pra trocação franca com a mão mais pesada da história do boxe. 🤦🏽♂️
Espetacular George Foremam sou seu fã cara
8:03 coach just told him don't stay there at one place. He's looking for that one shot. . . .
George Foreman is tough and has power in his punch which all opponents respect him for.
Moorer's trainer knew what was going on ... 🙂
Mr Foreman's strength during his comeback after retiring in 1977, in my opinion, he somehow channeled Ali's precision punches, Frazier's toughness and combined with Mr Foreman's strength finally created a truly powerful and compassionate man of all time.
foreman punches hit hard and painful like Stoning a person with a bag of cement
George's strength was absolutely awesome to watch, he was a much better boxer second time round as he developed guile and tactics, brings a smile to my face every time I watch him, absolute gentleman!!!
His right jab or hook was devastating not so much because of the speed but because there was such a lot of unstoppable mass and power behind it.
Foreman most underrated heavy weight boxer in the history of the sport. He was a Monster
Poor Mike Moore, his coach told him watch out, move to the side because George is setting you up. Well, he didn’t listen and paid the price.
1:05 ..hell naa 💀 you got it
Thw way he throws punches almost looks like hes just practicing or shadow boxing slow but man he throwing some sledgehammers
The way Foreman just walked up and level Cooney with that uppercut was savage
