      You're right. We don't hear enough from these great men. If it weren't for their sacrifice, we wouldn't be here today enjoying freedom. I had the honor of speaking to a 1st Canadian Parachute Battalion D-Day Veteran in 2014. It was hard to hold back tears knowing what he went through for all of us. If any of you have met these heroes, tell your kids about them, and make sure they tell their kids too.

    Traumatized veterans are a tragedy. To selflessly act in defense of others, and have their souls saddled with the emotional horrors of doing what had to be done, is where the sacrifice of veterans in our protection continues past their end of active service date. Thank you for your service, your sacrifice, and the trauma endured on our behalves. @Pub Thumpin
      Dialogue between therapist and myself. Initially I thought he was as thick as a brick. I didn't understand how talking about and reliving the moment was going to change things, so in my "gotcha" moment I said that, where he in turn said, "easier said, than done".... It all comes down to wanting to live life, and that's a big problem for me. Life isn't easy to begin with, and is now terribly complicated emotionally. I'm (like everyone else with PTSD) misunderstood and I have trouble making decisions and often end up making the wrong one anyway, I'm afraid to try things or be a little adventurous because of what I do, might turn to shit. I don't like explaining myself, or spending a half hour trying to explaining PTSD to someone who only knows the acronym "Post Traumatic Stress Disorder".
      I also have stage 3 type "A" melanoma cancer, and I don't fear my cancer, or have concerns or worries with it. My therapist asked why and I told him cancer had a beginning, middle and an end, simple... My PTSD is what's going to kill me, because I don't know where the beginning, middle or end is. My therapist agreed, so, I guess he's not that thick after all. By a sheer stroke of luck he's also a cancer therapist, so I can go double down in therapy....
      Best, and hang in there...

      Well said, and all was spot on. Working on my old truck and house, mowing my grass is all therapeutic, because it's a distraction and takes concentration. Mowing is the best distraction for now, because the drone of the mower, and getting the wheel marks back in line with one another prevent/surpress the thoughts or *constant* flashbacks.
      Your friends response with the chemotherapy, is very similar to the question of "faith" asked by my therapist. He asked about my "faith" and I told him I didn't believe in that stuff because of the "evils" (of mankind) here on earth. He pushed the issue and I said upon my death that I couldn't lose. He asked me to explain;
      *"If there is something after this life,... when I die my Hell ends. If there is nothing after this life, when I die,... my Hell still ends....."*
      I think this is why so many of us kill ourselves, in our mind, *it's a win, win...*
      Best,

    My grandfather (on my father's side) had PTSD for awhile. He had been a POW in Germany during WWII. Drank and smoked heavily for years. He was also very hard on my father and his two brothers growing up. By the time I was born. He had an accident that gave him some brain damage and it soften him up a lot. He had became more child like. So I didn't see him at his worst. We still weren't allowed to ask him about the war.
    The only thing that anyone ever got out of him, was. He was a POW in Germany. He was dangerously under weight by his release. And the only thing he thought saved him. Was a guard at the camp he had been a prisoner at. Allowed him to trade his roll in for more of the beef stew they handed out.
    So sir, I solute you for your service. And wish you the best in finding a way to cope with the nightmare you experienced.

    I don't know if people realize that PTSD flashbacks are not just like memories. Flashbacks can be so intense that you feel like it is happening for the first time.
    Sometimes (not all the time) you can actually lose awareness of the current physical world around you. You feel as if you are there, stuck in the most horrible time of your life. But get help, because you can have victory over the pain & enjoy life again.

      Well they could have ptsd from getting bullied or their parents verbally abusing them you never know someones experiences

      @@saydey3804 bullying and "cyber bullying" are (mostly) children's school yard issues. Not something that causes or even qualifies for a PTSD diagnosis

      @@rlee3538 They could have passed experiences or something else is playing a role besides the cyber bullying. Everyone's ptsd is different. People are sensitive nowadays but ptsd is a different thing. They may have already had ptsd and people bullying them triggers it

    It sickens me how some people show so much disrespect to our veterans. This man, just like many other men and women, are TRUE heroes. God Bless you sir. Thank you for your sacrifice for your country. I am so thankful to have someone like you to put your life in danger for the betterment of America.

    MDMA (Molly) has an unprecedented success rate with curing PTSD, if it weren't for the drug laws that completely ignore science we would be able to save thousands of veterans every year. Would love to hear Ben discuss the possibility of reforming the disastrous drug war.
