Thanks so much, literally bought G20 today never fired it and had this issue. I was about to go bring it back, and you saved me the trouble. Thanks again.
Man thank you so much my guy I had the same exact problem i was worried because I thought they sold me a faulty gun but some how the seller still fixed it but neither him , me or the old head couldn't figure out the problem some how we just put it back . But now thanks to you I know what it is .
This video was very helpful! Thanks, I thought I was going insane trying to get my new G20SF slide back on after cleaning. My other Glock's don't have this issue at all
I haven't had any issues with other glocks, just this model. It was frustrating to say the least once I figured it out, I thought I'd share. Thanks for the comment.
@@demidog4549 I just bought a new G34 gen 3 and had this exact same issue (i.e. same as my G20). Your video worked perfectly to get my slide to rack after I put it back on 👍🏻👍🏻
Thank you Man I've owned Glock pistols since the mid 90s just got my first model 20 gen4 and it was driving me nuts trying to put the slide back, something I've done hundreds of times.
Just got one, same thing happened when learning how to field strip I have not shot it yet. I heard this is common with g20. Does not happen all the time, but my solution was on the frame, you push the ejector hook foward ( 3:48 exactly what you did there. not sure what it's actually called , but pull or push towards the barrel) . That hook is that first one on the right side of frame by the magwell) now that hook will go into into the slot of slide properly and slide all the way back . Not sure why that plunger is a problem as well, I wonder if I'll have to deal with that after the gun is shot , but if I do then I will know what to do. Thx for video. I was freaking out for about 1 hour because I thought I had somehow damaged it.
Excellent video brother, I literally was having this issue last night, and it was that plunger button that was causing the problem, I pressed it, and it went back on the frame with ease, I'll tell my other Glock brothers about this, so far it just seems to be happening with the 10mm Glocks? Well thanks again!👍
Disassemble your slide available make sure there isn't any crud inside the striker safety plunger causing it to hang up. Also check the spring under the plunger.
I have a Glock 21 .45 ACP gen 3 never had any issues with it. Same frame as my new Glock 20 gen 4 I just got I have been stumped by why it struggles to go back together after take down. Pulled them both apart compared one to the other I figured out by pushing the trigger forward and resetting it I can get it back together. Read my owners manual it does not address it figured maybe mine was a one off problem looked it up online I’m clearly not alone. Very strange Glock does not acknowledge the struggle of reassembly after tear down on these.
I ran in to this exact same issue a few yes ago with my G20. Like you I would take it apart a few time, screw with it and then it would magically just slide back together. Even had an (non Glock) armorer look at it when it happened at the range. He thought it was a bent ejector. I eventually stumbled across that it was the firing pin safety. I now have several 1000 rounds through the G20 and albeit not as frequent, it still hangs up every so often when reassembling.
I had this issues also on a brand new Glock. I read it helps if you disassemble it with the barrel pointing up as gravity helps the pin stay down opposed to the barrel pointing down when breaking it down will cause pin to stay forward due to gravity

Glad i could help

I had it happen to me at the gun store, the guy selling it couldn't even figure out how to get the slide back on haha.

Its definitely something Glock needs to look into. I've never experienced anything like it on any other firearm.
Thanks, I got the same issue.
