Mother of all those players who dont even try to notch radar missile incoming signaled by their screaming rwr during 2 minutes.... Sad...
It is not very expected in Ground RB, RWR warnings usually are by SAM in this mode. Also a lot of targets were drones .. it was a good session to understand and test the missile, the radar of the MiG is definitely not the best in my opinion, it needs to be like F-16 PD.

To be fair tho, this missile is incredibly fast. I mean he fired at a target 12km away and hit it 18 seconds. 18 seconds is just barely enough time to dive and evade. Sparrows can only dream of being that fast.
Most people don't know what that even means. It's not explained. There's no tutorial. A million key binds. Different vehicles have different radars and missiles. Life's too short.
@@cookiecracker2 yeah, I've had shots 22km+ off and it feels like the missile *still* accelerates after it's motor burns out, cuz it just hits them so much faster than I anticipate (even after having used R-24Rs, the previous fastest SARH)

If MiG-29 radar stayed at its current state F-16 ADF is better at both medium and close ranges because Sparrow + F-16 PD feels much better than R-27ER + MiG-29 PD .. and AIM-9L is definitely better than R-60M as well.

@@Hunter_i86 r77 is the russian version, and we wonjt see that for another 2 or 3 airframe variants because the russians considered the 27s to be a good enough match to the amraam for quite a while. (which to be fair, they kind of do, with their longer range and faster speed almost making up for being fox 1s)
Great video ! This video is like a tutorial for mig 29 R 27 :D. But the thnig is I think things change at GRB, because I easly lock and use sparrows with f4e in GRB but in ARB dont even carry them cuz of wasted radar. I wish to see this thing at ARB to how it reacts to flares or chafs or 90 degree sneak away...Overall this is better than R73 I think. 11:13 shows the strenght of 6Mac speed of this thing :D F16 also gets the sparrows too :D I guess top tier completed what do you think ?

F-16 has better turn rate and better short range missile, so I guess F-16 is better .. unfortunately MiG-29 treated badly in this update in terms of weapons and radar, thanks a lot :)
can you please explain the difference between the "green square" target lock method -vs- the "red circle" locking method. The green square is used on SPAA for distance and lead indication, but I didnt know the same method could be used for aircraft launching air-air missles. As always, thank you for your help and explainations.
Green square is radar lock, SPAA and jets have radars and can lock targets using their radars .. the red circle without green square is a heat-seeker missile locking a target ..

Nice shots! i think sometimes you are too easy on the throttle when doing bvr when you do have plenty of fuel. like in 10:10, felt like you should’ve gone full AB once you leveled off since you where slow. That could’ve been a 30km launch if you where going mach 1. Altitude is huge in bvr but launch speed is just as important. A missile off the rail going mach 1+ is going to be a LOT deadlier than firing at mid-high subsonic. The R27ER benefits a tone more from high launch speeds as due to its insane initial stage thrust. But anyway, enjoyed the video!

@@Hunter_i86 Very true, this is also applicable to the F-14's AIM-54. The Phoenix is fast, but it's also heavy and therefore takes time to accelerate. I haven't taken the F-14 out much myself, but I've heard from people that unlike me know what they're doing, that the AIM-54 is at it's best launched not only at higher altitudes, say 6000 meters and above, but also while doing at least mach 1.

R-27T should have the speed like a R-27ER, its slower than a R-24T rn
Interesting note, unfortunately MiG-29 is badly treated yet it is one of the most jets that players were dreaming of, even more than more modern aircraft like F-22 or Su-35 .. I mean if you don't know how to balance it do not release it, just delay it for a different time and release it properly with all its capabilities .. show some respect to this fantastic Russian bird.

LoL what rush man, I was driving in the entire map horizontally from A to C .. if they don't want to get out of base we will get them out .. also they were SPAA so they will stay there forever lol. I was doing a favor for our CAS pilots by killing that TOR and the other two SPAAs.

I absolutely love using the R27ER's in air rb, at the start of the game I climb to about 8km altitude, look for easy targets, and fire when they are within 25-30km and their aim7m isn't even close to me when my missile kills them. So satisfying!
Thats the whole point of the bias, shower you with artificial greatness.

@@gollygosh everyone can notch missiles, if they decide to notch then they will have to go defensive. I haven’t really randomly lost lock however the missile has gone for friendlies even though I had a lock on an enemy
its bullshit that they gave it the ER, which the 29s never used, and was also a 90s missile.

Hunter why don't you use SRC PD HDN?
Because I was trying to start turning after launch and stay far from the ground battle, and I knew that HDN is for pure head-ons only .. I could be wrong though, this session was for me to learn the radar as well, I don't understand it totally I mean.

@@Hunter_i86 From my understanding HDN like you said is for headons and it sends out many shorter radar waves which makes it easier to detect targets further away. However can’t be used when the target is closer than 7km and it can be notched quite easily I find. So having normal PD is probably best when you have a lock and don’t want to lose it so easily.

I don't understand how to fire the radar lock missile, i locked on enemy but when i press fire, it said require radar lock.
I don't think you really locked, I just think you passively locked it with TWS, you need to actively lock the target by pressing the lock on button .. this is not a Fox-3 missile, it is Fox-1.

Don't see a lot of MiG29 in air RB. At least not when I play. Aim9L meta. I hoped that it could change the way top tier worked but the F14 is still the most powerful jet there. Its too bad.
Maybe if they had given the Chinese tech tree a North Korean MiG29 instead. Or the East German one was added. If two or more nations had the jet perhaps its appeal would be greater. Many nations have the F16 with 9L. It kind of dominates. But only after the f14's have had their fill.
Its really sad to see such a remarkable aircraft just be sidelined.
I do not believe its sidelined, I even think its the best at 1v1 BVR fights but yes its not a sole top dog, it is just how top Air rb works no matter the aircraft if you can't win a 1v5 if your team gets melted
Ground rb air superiority I believe its the the best when it comes to it, you have way better acceleration over the F-4 and F-14 two really competitive BVR missiles that are hard to dodge at high altitude and you do not lock up like the F-16 currently, so someone who understands BVR can win any 1v1 in the Mig 29 the only way for it to be beat in a 1v1 BVR fight is if the Mig is out of fuel or if you manage to get into range to start the dogfight and even in that case the Mig has a lot of potential
@@popmordiscos I have not seen a single match where there are more than 3 of them in a team. F16 everywhere. F14 count is down from before the patch but they are still very present. The MiG29 is just absent in most matches.

I have 6 total deaths, honestly I don't remember I got killed twice by the same player .. I remember I got shot down once by F-16 Sparrow and the other 5 by SAM because MiG-29 radar is not the best and needs a buff, so I have to keep my eyes on the lock in case it is lost with no obvious reason to re-lock fast, keeping my eyes on lock makes me a nice target for SAM, that's why in the last 3 or 4 battles I was flying at 9000m altitude, to safely ignore SAM and the radar works better at higher altitudes.

@@Hunter_i86 whenever i try to lock it says radar lock required when i have 'select radar to lock and lock radar on target' just dosn behave and cant seem to use i effectivly

1- Lock Radar\IRST On Target button
2- Fire button to lock missile
3- Fire button again to launch
(Keep the radar lock on target until hit)
These types of missiles are SARH missile, semi active radar homing.
Russian tanks can move forward in the battle field, but don’t move forward in technology 😪

I can't watch these anymore. I am not one that gets political in every topic and post in the internet but seeing Russian war machinery just gives me bad vibes. I have seen too many of the vids out of the Ukraine. Now the Russian gameplay makes me feel sick. Can we just go back to like 2015? The world felt much better then. ;/
