I quite like the cage you show over the gimble but i have not used either. it somehow seems more versatile particularly when you use the handle
As you say it depends what you are doing but if a level horizon is important then its hands down the gimbal, which reminds me I must charge my gimbal . 😀
every phone have built-in leveler :) it's not a problem to hold the phone in horizon level
@@jackdanyal4329 absolutely, works for stills , slightly more problematic for video and I’ve noticed when operating in sunlight , on my phone anyway the level is only slightly more bold than the grid.
@@Chris-NZ just learn to fill the horizon. it's a matter of practice
I almost exclusively use iphone for my videos, no gimbal even though I have two of them. the built in stabization is SO GOOD.
What iPhone do you use, and is the inbuilt stabilisation available on all the lenses?
Great Video...I am new at this and bought both and I think I prefer using the Rig,
what about phones with screen protectors and lens protectors. any issues when using this ? Cheers
great trick using tripod with cage to stabilise, can share what tripod? looks cool
Based on the Video, I would guess it's the RODE tripod?
Perfect timing
Thanks for the great review! I personally prefer the image quality from the cage, the picture quality from the gimbal seems a bit distorted and overexposed. Will check out the cage when I upgrade to iphone 15👍
I've always thought about trying a camera cage, and this one seems interesting. Great review, and thanks for sharing.
It’s surprisingly useful!
The answer is obvious...put the cage on the gimbal ;)
lol! It’s worth noting that most of the cages are all metal and add quite a bit of weight to the rig. I’m not sure gimbals could support the weight.
@@Gemini_ConnectCrane M3 is the only gimbal I have used that supports the weight of the smallrig cages
@@Gemini_Connect Aren't there a lot of gimbals that can support that weight? But of course, not on this price range and portability. It's more for 300+ $ gimbals and those will be heavier and less portable too.
I've seen a video recently by Full Time Filmmaker : "How To Film A Travel Video w/ iPhone". They use a gimbal and that exact same smallrig cage and an iPhone 15 pro max, with a 120g lens and a SSD, so decent total weight.
The gimbal they use is expensive though, the DJI RS4 Pro which is like 800+ $
For selfi video at arms length i see the benefits of the dji gimbal. For short takes (filming) the cage has some benefit. I think a person needs both products. One your hand are touching functions on the screen more often. The other I’m selfi mode it’s more of a simple solution
GREAT VIDEO!!! 💯
Can you share the brand of your camera bag on this clip please?
It’s this bag: ua-cam.com/video/dDYRFK44BJo/v-deo.htmlsi=dPk7EgKP-OoAZrgw
Why not both? I recently saw that Tilta makes a cage for the DJI Pocket 3 that has a bunch of ¼-20 threaded holes and Nato rails for a plethora of accessories. So that will be a cage on a gimbal.....err....gimbal camera
What is better option, a cage for an specific model or a cage for universal phones
?
I use a gimbal for my videos and I find it works well for me. Gimbles are a little costly in India (100 dollars = 8330 rupees) so I used to take rent Mam
For shoot and go nothing beats a cage
Your comment about the price is incorrect when you add the cage and the 2 handles it’s almost the same price as the DJI gimbal
Very Nice!!!!
Very good
I prefer the cage on the gimbal
based on your clips it seems the cage is sufficient
It looks like you're driving a Tesla when you use it. 😂
True! It has a cool look to it IMO
