I always appreciate your take on new gear, especially innovative things like what Hohem is doing with controls that double as a remote, as with M7, V3 etc. This one being the only one with a monitor/ touchscreen. I've used a 2nd phone as a monitor, but this makes all functions available at the remote. It's pricey, but it brings a lot of creative control. Between this and DJI Pocket 3, we are living in a photo gear renaisance, wouldn't you agree?

I noticed you are choosing to use the Rode Wireless Micro over the new DJI Mic Mini. I did audio tests of the Rode Wireless Micro & Wireless Pro vs DJI Mic Mini and found the Rode Wireless Micro to actually have more bass/warmth then the Rode Wireless Pro or DJI mic mini. The reasons why I don't like the Rode Wireless Micro are no usbc pass-through charging port. I live stream for 6-15 hours a day and I need to be able to charge my phone while using the device. Also, No 3.5mm out jack. And you have to take the windscreens off each time you put them back in the case and the windscreen plastic seems cheap like it will break and very easy to forget, lose, or misplace the windscreens...Hopefully, they address these issues with the next version. I ended up sending my Rode Wireless Micro kit back because of these issues. Maybe they will address the thin eq sounding audio quality of the DJI mic mini with a firmware update like they did the Mic 2?? Fingers crossed.

I have a Lumix GH7 I shoot with a lot, along with my Iphon 14 ProMax,, but gimbals seem so large and heavy for the Lumix. Any ideas on a lightweight gimbea, simple to set up, for a Lumix ? I tried one and it was very heavy and vrey complicated to set it ? Is the Hohem easy to set and activate or is there a balancing set-up you need to go through every time.Looks simple. Thanks !
Have been troubleshooting a NEW m7 right out of the box since Saturday as I explained to Hohem through tech support this was a gift for my wife and it’s defective. It jerks in tilt mode, then flips the camera facing down and gets stuck, all 3 switches are unlocked, tried recalibrating. This was the suggestion by hohem tech. “Please try rotating it up and down for a week to restore it to its initial state.” After him having me send several videos for over an hour he then requires me to do a zoom meeting with another tech for an hour. Wow!? Any suggestions how to get this thing to work properly?
There are some good reasons for still using a phone gimbal, but $299 seems a bit pricey for the Hohen. The DJI Gimbals are much cheaper and do a very good job. Great video, and thanks for sharing.
@ A different price category, the DJI OSMO 6 mobile is currently going for $89 on Amazon, vs $299 for Hohem. Some users don’t need all the bells and whistles, and are looking for the best value. The most important feature is how stable does the video look, and OM 6 is rock steady.
@@RonaldBrown59i just couldn’t bear to be forced to use their app to have access to tracking. Also the limited ROM on DJI forces extra work to re create shots that should be available- it’s also why you buy a gimbal no? This you can livestream- Insta - DJI not rocking really even for 89 bucks

It's basically the iSteady V3 but Pro. I have the V3 and it's a good phone gimbal if you don't accessorise. It's main bad points is other than the undetachable clamp (I don't mind), the magnets on the AI tracker and remote is kinda weak. I hope the M7 addresses this issue. The double tap to track on screen is kinda cool tho 👀.

You use a $700 camera after taxes and extra battery that gives almost no extra time. You can't even use it in extreme weather or rain. For way less than that you can get a great action cam and a great gimbal that u can use for not only your cell phone but also your camera. With action cams like the ace pro 2 or action 5, they beat the osmo pocket 3 any day on a good gimbal and probably costs the same with the gimbal as the the Osmo Pocket 3 cost by itself.
@@blackmamba6938 Each setup has pros and cons. Gemini lives in pacific nw where it rains a lot and she shoots outdoors. Outside there enough light for even phones to look good. Osmo pocket can't film in rain and is easy to damage.

We all know what you have to do if you got sponsored. I personally ditch mobile gimbal since iphone 13 Pro. I use ninja walk technique while I shoot B-roll is good enough. Mostly still videos. Other then that, it's all on Pocket 3 now. Ditch my heavy camera gimbal too, it's too heavy for my lower back to handle.
dumb take. Phone stabilization crops into the image. Using a gimbal allows you to disable digital stabilization and get a wider image. On top of that, it allows for remote control and tracking. Plenty of reasons to use a gimbal.

FYI The 1/4 20 threaded mount with the second hole is specifically to support Hohems "Briefcase Handle" EX-02 that is articulated to mount multiple ways, has several cold shoe mounts and is style and color matched to iSteady M7. Find it on their website. It's expensive but worth every cent!

I love this gimbal. What Hohem did with this new gimbal is like Goldilocks. I wish it would fold down smaller like the other iSteady 3 gimbal.

If you’re in 14 day window - tell them to replace it. If you bought direct they honor it. If you buy on Amazon, they won’t support.

DJI phone gimbals lack many features that this gimbal has and their payload is 300g, not 500g. It's a different class of product.

AI tracker on the M7 has a lock, in addition to magnets. It won't fall off like it could before.

How is the battery life
12 hours, likely because it has to power a small screen and the tracker. M6 had 18 hours.

Hello, it is a deal breaker for me not to be able to record with log i apple proress at 60fps, so what about attachement of a external ssd?
What about it? 500 grams would absolutely permit a nice SSD setup as you see fit. Several reviewers have mentioned it.
