Simple answer is honda elevate is for sensible buyers who want a car and not electric gimmicks and toys to play with.
But then it should be priced competitively not over priced.
It has most of those. Where it cut is engine. Image the price with turbo. It will be expensive than taigun. Unless u do apple to apple comparison it's insensible of sensible buyers.

Honda is Honda. 5 years down the line, most of the fancy tech is going to wear off, what’s gonna stay is the Engine, chasis, fit and finish.
But this basic engine without turbo would feel too underpowered 5 years later when 150 ps would be very normal by thens standard

Its a no nonsense mid size SUV…. No fancy features and the best part no panoramic sunroof… it will age better both inside and outside… it will still feel fresh 10 years from now… i just loved the fact that honda is bringing this at this time when you have all the gimmicks going on… these times needed a simple and elegant looking mid size SUV. No offense to competitors, but, this is the design which will be loved by all…
100% . I was looking for a suv without the pano sunroof and a simple design . In fact waited on the elevate . No I am not disappointed. Elevate ax MT white is my pick under 18 Lc’s ex showroom in the 1.5 na crossover segment
minimalist design, 1.5L honda engine, sleek interior and good comfort...Its a YES for me!
Although the major missing is hybrid engine

I own a 10 year old Amaze. This thing drives far better than all the NEW compact sedans and hatches from other brands.

Just as City is a no nonsense sedan, Elevate seems like a no nonsense SUV. For people who want to settle down in life, be a calm and composed man, go buy a Honda.

That last bit, well it’s true. These are reliable. However, we cannot be oblivious that Honda could do so much more in India but they don’t.
Reliability is great, but it shouldn’t be a crutch to justify not bringing your best cars to India.
Being a Honda owner, I can assure you that you will never face an issue with any Honda cars.. They are supremely reliable, last long, and the after sales experience feels really good (If you get the right dealer). The service is also decently affordable, just that the parts are a bit expensive, nothing else. The resale value is also quite good. Quality levels are fantastic. Dynamics are amazing. Engine refinement is also always the best in the segment. Comfort and space is another level. Just that they can do a bit better with the features.. Not an issue if you bother much about fancy stuff ow want to flex around...

What this reviewer and many other miss by oversimplifying it to "nice" and "inoffensive" is the ability of the car to balance drive quality, steadfastness, safety and being understated while doing that.
The car is for people who value these qualities and aesthetics which tend to be timeless. It's a car which one will grow to love, as is the case with most well designed Hondas. It's serious VFM.
I think Honda went and Gave this car to us because of how we as Indian buyers can't appreciate loaded things, you want a car, get a car, you don't want fancy shut, buy elevate... Ig?

I had choice Taigun vs Elevate vs City , purchased Elevate VX CVT because TSI turbo engine has thrill but not reliable, City was very beautiful and every thing was dine but rejected City because of bad roads

When compared to over designed competitors it’s understated design looks good but with Honda pricing will be critical.

If Honda gave it power windows of Honda city , ventilated seats and 360 camera setup. Damn this product wold have been a hot selling cake as many people don’t want that giant sunroof cause glass is a glass and glass maintenance is really expensive
Agree with you on the Glass. Hope they have on option of NO sunroof in the higher models.

That Grill in the front is an eyesore everything else in terms of design is just fine.
If you ask me honestly, people these days are more interested in stuff like what kind of touch screen/tablet they will be getting on their dashboard, how big is the overhead window(a.k.a "panaromic" sun/moonroof) rather than reviewing what sort of engine is under the hood, how does the car drives/handles and things like that.
One of the most natural review I have even seen. refreshingly different, with the key points highlighted and no rubbish like bitching about hard plastics and soft touch materials..... its a 15 lakh car and not a lexus or an audi....

Don't get me wrong.. I love the auto high beam.. But isn't it supposed to come mandatory for all vehicles? Because your drive becomes comfortable only if the OTHER car has it
This is what they should have released in 2016. They are 7 years late, and still they only have the ivtec to offer.

Very lazy company. Could have overtaken Maruti with their models long ago but just didn't care. Japanese and lazy don't mix very well, but here these guys had no motivation for sure. Elevated is a great SUV though.

The specs denote the Elevate to be bigger in size compared to the Creta, its main competitor. But its boxy shape makes it look smaller at least in pics. Waiting to see it in the flesh. The Koreans score in the tech specs of their vehicles. Some level of ADAS is a given today.

Most practical car. Pure Quality.
I was looking at Toyota's hybrid SUV but since the waiting period in my area is 2 years, i think i will book this one. I like the interiors actually. The leather & all. A practical car but I just hope the mileage isn't too bad on this one.
iVTEC always gives better milage than the test results. In light footed driving I bet it can churn out 17.5 - 18 kmpl easily. But if you rev the iVTEC then you will enjoy the sheer power @ high revs compromising milage. It can drop to 10-12 kmpl.
For a review video, this is missing some key details like ground clearance, boot space and mileage. Hope you mention those as well.
Its available all over the internet and in first look videos as well. No point repeating the same thing again and again

Maybe they should think of pricing top of the line, on road price as 17.5 to 18 lakhs, then there are some changes to strike a difference.

Sadly . Going by Honda's history with poor market timing and poor pricing , there's a very good chance the elevate will be on par or over the rest.

Ride quality Kushaq and Honda same, Honda a way better. If you are concerned about post buy service charges then Honda is far better

Back to elevate :- The only way this car will work for Honda is if they price it aggresively. There are many Honda owners who want to upgrade from their Old gen city , amaze and jazz who want a Honda car. This car can work for them if it's priced right.

Maybe expect a “sport” themed edition with all-black interior and blacked out wheels in the near future. Companies often capitalize on the black colour to freshen up the line up and earn a few more buck along the way 😉

I think the doorline of the rear window swooping up like that makes it look kinda weird/Ignis cues. Cars like Sonet has it too but the overall design manages to hide it and make it work together

CITY 5th Gen and Elevate both cars can score 5 star rating in GNCAP's updated protocols but for that honda management should send both of these cars voluntarily because Gncap doesn't have much funds to buy and test it or they r busy retesting maruti cars or They test cars on which they have doubt of scoring less for ex Creta,Seltos,i20,Grand i10 and various maruti cars
We believe in Ace body structure..Honda should be willing to send these cars..5 star rating will surely increase the sales

PowerDrift: Cyrus, Kindly let us know how tall you are to get a perspective of the height when in the driver’s seat, given the 220mm ground clearance, do you feel like you are driving much higher vehicle, does it actually give you an SUV feel or just feels like a Crossover? Would you be sitting Higher than say the Jimny or say the Creta, as a rough guide
As for the pricing, I do hope they price it correctly, unlike what Maruti did with the Jimny pricing and shot itself in the foot, well & truly.

Hi, I am planning to buy the ZX CVT but I'm just worried about ADAS's CMBS (Collision Mitigation Braking system). My usage in the city and typical congested Indian city condition.. bumper to bumper traffic.
I am worried about the system giving false warnings or warning it think is correct & then applying strong brakes. Worried about rear collision. Turning it off each time is impractical. Please let me if in your tests you found it to be problem or the system is good and not very intrusive to create a problem. Thanks
It doesn't have adas only the city is offered adas, in testing city has better adas than Mercedes,bmw it has the most advanced system available in india
There are 4 modes where you can chose the sensitivity.
Adas gets activated when you are driving more than 30km/hr.... driving head to head is never a problem with it .
Have ZX CVT. No problem in bumper to bumper traffic in Mumbai. It's smart enough to know what's what and how much of control are you in of the car.

The car has best boot space in numbers and usability wise. The car is having highest ground clearance. The rear seats are segment best for under thigh support. Its a Honda - a company which was thinking safety and giving global products to indians when junta never heard of GNCAP.
