    When doing a blooming onion, put them in the fryer upside down. They will spread out better as they cook.

      If you used a an Apple slicer try slicing down one cut and cutting it a second time equally to make those thin slices, they looked thick on the video, will cook faster without scorching the batter. Texas Roadhouse is my fav SwordChux, steak and all, they’ve got a killer pork chop!

    Friendly tip: If you plan on re-using that oil, I strongly recommend letting your fish sit for a few minutes after coating it in your flour mixture, or a lot of it is going to just dust off into the oil and make it much dirtier much quicker. Letting them rest also helps with flavour and texture, the same applies to fried chicken!

    Justin, I have that fryer. You dont even need to filter it that often. Maybe 2-3 times a year. The particles settle at the bottom and the bottom doesnt get above 150°F so you dont have to worry about it burning. Best fryer on the market hands down.

    • @cl112688
      @cl112688 4 роки тому

      and you need to find that setting on the burner that you dont turn it down. It should be able to keeo rocking and rolling once you start frying. You may want to check that gauge to, it can be off a bit and you can adjust it on the back of it. 350°F might not actually be 350°

    Cold front here kept fish uninterested in feeding. Two days and two nights of warm gentle rain washed insects down into the pond so the little fish we could see were just not hungry, even for live worms. Water was still below 50 degrees, I guess. At least we could see the fish to about seven inches down the following week. I went to a larger lake and pulled first fish of the year out from under what was left of the boating dock--they remove the other dock units to protect from ice damage. When I ran out of live worms the blue gill were not hungry. Mid afternoon hundreds of minnows came to see me so next time I should bring a minnow net for bait to use on my DIY spoons over where the shrubs lean over the lake rim. Feels like it is going to be a very good year for fishing. Felt so good to yell Fish On! Nice catch LFG. Have a great year!

    Adjust the angle on the thermometer. Put whatever temp you want to cook at the 12 o’clock position. That way you can see when it’s ready from afar.

    Loved the video man. I used to catch white bass when there wasn't a limit. Shows how old I am, but from the bank before the Corpe fenced off the lakes. My wife loved fishing with me even when she was pregnant. We'd Seine for ghost minnows then wade out with a floating minnow bucket and fish basket and fish until we were too tired fish anymore. Eat fish for days and freeze the rest. Then we'd go back the next day.

    Just an water survival tip, those rubber boots are almost impossible to get out of if you fall in the water. I would recommend some jip up pak type boots when its cold so you can kick them off if you have to to get back in the boat. Stay safe out there!
