Correction: After the shift boot is re-installed, re-install the leather panels, then the carpet panels. The steps are available at the start of the video. First the leather panels go back in the way they came out, then the carpet panels.
Installed a Numeric shifter in my ‘07 Boxster S today. Could NOT have done this without you, man. I so appreciate your organization and positive approach. When I was sweating trying to get the damn console unplugged, I kept hearing you saying "keep at it," and wouldn’t you know it, it eventually relented. BTW: I unplugged the spoiler/PSM console after I disconnected the battery, but I did get a "PSM Malfunction" warning upon start-up. I was able to just push-in the dash-control lever to click "reset." The yellow warning light disappeared soon after I started driving, and did not come back after several restarts. No OBD2 reset required.
My ‘07 997 turbo tiptronic center console where the emergency brake and center storage console is rattles (not the center console where the stereo & climate controls are) its like all plastic. Any idea what it is or what to do? Thank you
Thanks for this! Could you do videos on this car for how to remove the dash vents and entire dashboard? Nobody anywhere on the internet has ever done a video on this.
@RuslanVideoFilms it's coo. No rush. I'm refinishing my stock black interior to terracotta and have gotten about as far as I'm able based on videos available on line. There are zero content related to 987 dashboard breakdown and replacement. Only thing I could find is a manual for Porsche mechanics but that dosnt describe specifics like what angles to pull from to avoid snapping plastic clips etc. Seeing as its a $1K to $4K part I want to make absolutely certain I get it right.
It is! It’s like 95% the same. If you really focus, you can tell, but it’s not egregious and looks pretty good. I think even with an OEM PCCM+, there will be a slight color difference due to the discoloration of the older plastic that’s already there
8 torx screws at the bottom of the lid and a catch pin Steps 26, 27 here www.macarbon.com/install_guides/Porsche/997/997%20CF%20Center%20Console%20Install%20Instructions.pdf
There are other center console removal videos where they are able to do it without needing to remove the PCM, the climate controls or the section of buttons below that.
Totally valid approach and thanks for sharing. The climate controls and buttons were removed to remove the storage bin without bending its tab down. You can remove the bin without removing the items above if you’re willing to bend your storage bin a bit. Taking out the climate controls and spoiler buttons takes 30 seconds or less.

By far the best video on how to do this from beginning to end.
Your words. Too kind they are. Appreciate it.
Within twenty seconds I realized this is the video I needed. Thank you!

Thanks for this guide. I'm putting a short-shift kit into my Cayman S this weekend and this has helped massively. Cheers
Glad it helped. Which short shift kit?
Thank you. This detailed video made it easy to remove my console

Wouldn't put it past loose wiring or a broken plastic retainer inside. Only way is to take a peek ;)
@@RuslanVideoFilms thanks I made a video of what it was and how I fixed it.
Awesome video great job!
Thank you 🙏🙏

On the list! :) Although it might be a while before I get around to it

Noticed you had an AliExpress head unit, is it the "Grey" version? How well does it match the climate unit for colour? Thanks

how do you remove just the center console lid?
8 torx screws at the bottom of the lid and a catch pin

Where did you connect the USB cables, I saw you installed them in the 12 volt but where do they connect?
To the new head unit, installation shown here:

Awesome work done!! btw, how did you add the ipod/aux board?
Was a factory option when I purchased the car
