As an Arc User on the Mac for more than 1 and a half year. I think what they have been doing in the browser space is nothing short of revolutionary, especially this app for ios.

The tab manager is so much worse, as you can only get a decent preview of 2-3 tabs at a time, while you see 6 in Safari. Makes navigating through tabs really annoying

Yup, same for the multitasking, it's really stupid for navigating between apps quickly and well organized. Hate the iPhones for that reason.. (I have an iPhone as my workphone, use android as my daily driver)
the summarization feature is the coolest thing i’ve ever seen come out of a browser app. might look into it considering chrome and safari aren’t the greatest browser options out there.
I suspect we will see the summarize web page in iOS 18. I know Google just released this feature as well along with the Pixel 8 devices. Lots of AI features incoming at WWDC.

They could just make the AI services fully online for older devices but well... AI will be their next "innovation" and selling point. Before downloading this app, read their privacy policies and specifically what data they collect. There’s a reason almost every tech UA-camr has been recommending this app in the last 6-8 months.
I just read it doesn’t seem crazy like tiktok knows everything about you. On Apple Store under Data Linked to You it says user content oh and btw while at it I checked safari and it collects the same data as arc. I’m not sure what kind of info you got regarding arc collecting data
It’s identical to any other browser you use thankfully. As soon as you download it, it’ll ask if you want to transfer all bookmarks and folders from other browsers you’ve used.
I love Arc! That team works tirelessly putting out new updates. For a young company they have done so much in a small amount of time meanwhile Safari throw you a bone or 2 of a major update a few times out the year
nah, these things end up just sitting around on the phone. Best thing to do on iOS is to just use the basic apps as intended and be able to use continuity to keep things in sync across devices. Chrome also works, especially if you need extensions. But, if you use apple password manager, then Chrome won't work well with it. So, Safari lives on
you can make safari use chrome password manager along with keychain. just go into settings and search for passwords then tap password options and it will let you choose chrome as an extra password manager
in my opinion , chrome is better in general BUT if your an apple user , just use your defaults, it feels awkward moving to something else that your not use to.

It lets you ask an AI chat bot any question son a page, and it will read the page and answer it Also if you have lots of tabs, you can use the tidy button to AI generate sub-categories for your tabs plus soo many AI features to make your life easier. Just Google it ig to learn more
Used to use Arc on my desktop but I found myself wasting my time on organization. After the released the mobile app I was excited to try but found that it just complicated my process. Still sticking to Brave who also has the option to clear unopened tabs after 24hrs. If it wasn't for Brave I'd probably still use Safari since I did enjoy the features for a while.
@@Lovish8190if you’re on Mac it’s great, especially when paired with the the mobile app as well… I’m not sure how far they are with the PC version, but that’s going to be out soon.. It’s completely replaced Chrome for me. Still use Safari as well
I use Arc for windows and on my phone. It’s great!! (it’s only in beta on windows rn and it uses a little too much ram so i only use it on my PC. I still use chrome on my laptop)
I've also tried arc on my windows laptop. I resulted in back to using Edge 😅 I feel like, in its current early beta testing state, it's trying to be Safari on macs. I feel like I had to learn to use a Web browser for the first time. But overall it is really beautiful and well made. I can see many people enjoying it, but maybe not myself 😬

this video is highly inaccurate and incomplete since it omitted a key piece of information: Arc is a MacOS Browser, Chromium as a matter of fact. It’s a young startup, but the Arc browser on MacOS (which released for Windows last week too) is insanely good. I’d suggest you try it out. Arc Search for iOS is just for quick browsing and can now (as of this week) sync bookmarks and tabs with your desktop Arc Browser. The desktop version is packed with features and I’m still to find something missing, tbh. On top of that I don’t see your point since Chrome for iOS doesn’t support extensions either
Still you didn’t mention The features that would make me move to Arc. I see none personally. I mentioned extensions with Safari not chrome. For me Dark mode is important and it’s not there yet in Arc iOS. Safari does the job and is stable

Arc Search has no point in being used if you don’t also use the desktop browser on your pc. This applies to any browser in existence to be honest, since the syncing part is a fundamental of any web browsing across platforms. If you want I can tell you about Arc’s features on desktop (Arc Search for iOS is literally everything you see in this video plus the “bookmarks” and tabs you have open in your desktop spaces, which as I mentioned were added after this short released), but I strongly suggest looking at their website or trying the browser for a few days. I don’t know if you have a Mac or a windows pc, but both are supported; I believe the Mac version could be more refined since it has existed longer, but definitely go for it, if you’d like it 😄
Agree. And its biggest disadvantage for adoption is that it doesn’t give you any of the good features unless you make it your default browser. That really turned me off of them as when you click certain links like UA-cam etc they don’t open the app, and open inside of arc. Super annoying and renders arc completely useless for me.

Another major flaw I’ve already run into,and this is for shady sites but still. I make a lot of ringtones from UA-cam videos 🤷♂️ but when a pop-up tab comes and tells you something silly like “your phone has a virus” or etc naturally you close that tab and go back to what you were doing. However in this browser there’s NO other option but to press okay on the malware page. You can close the browser and when you open the app again it will take you right back to that page leaving you nothing but to press okay 🤣 so obviously one doesn’t have to visit sites with malicious pop ups BUT I’m going back to safari regardless.
all ios browsers were based on Web kit, thats far from a "Skin". webkit is btw. opensource and is not mandatory anymore. And even if you consider all the stuff around webkit a "Skin", thos features are the important part of a browseer, not the HTML renderer, not the JS engine.
@@la6188 No, on macOS you can use any engine, so all browsers that are chrom based use chrimium, (Chrome, Edge, Brave Vivaldi etc.) Opera,Tor etc. are Firefox based. Arc, Orion etc. are Webkit based. No difference to Windows and Linux, except the webkit browsers
In the latest update if you raise your phone to the ear in the arc browser, it launches their voice assistant, and you can talk to it as if you’re talking to someone on the phone and ask a query and it gives you the answer in your phone speaker

That’s exactly why I switched back. Now as for the desktop version, that has the best tab management out of any browser and it’s not close.

They definetly nailed the design aspect of the browser, but that’s about it.

The FTC or and most other international regulatory bodies require creators to formally disclose sponsorships, and present them to the user/make it clear that a video is sponsored. If there is no disclosure, there’s no payment, and if there was to be payment without disclosure, then there would also be a fine and a UA-cam ban for Will. So not sponsored. He wouldn’t risk that much for a browser.
