It seems quite clear Noel values the relationship with his brother more than the band Oasis. I think that's just natural and the way it should be. I know fans of the band don't want to believe that. Noel gets it. Oasis has been and is no more. Let their music be their legacy.
@ Maria - Isn't that the truth! I'm an only child, but when Noel said he would "take this to the grave" with Liam, I cried. Noel can be such a dickhead and Liam has no filter, but it's obvious that there is such emotional pain there on BOTH sides. Liam loves Noel and wants (and has always wanted) his brother to say "You have talent too and I would've been nowhere without you". And Noel tries to cut his emotions off. I really think he still loves Liam, but is hurt by all the things that Liam has rashly and recklessly said about his (Noel) family. And his way of dealing is to completely cut off that person. Childhood abuse can have so many repercussions on adults.
@Maria - Hopefully they will be able to forgive each other and have some kind of relationship before it's too late. Life is so fragile....... and if anything happened to either of them, the other would be devastated.
Jennifer Shelley Exactly. I think it's kind of funny that they don't talk to each other in their private lives but they always get asked about each other in their interviews. It's like the interviewer tries to make peace somehow
Liam is wild and he probably didn’t mean it but people say things in anger and sometimes you can’t fix it. Would be amazing to see a reunion but actually think it’s been good for Liam’s solo career. Both brothers are better off solo at this point musically.
I grew up about 15 minutes down the road from them in Ladybarn and I vividly remember my dad telling me in about 1993/4 to go and see them at the Hacienda before the got huge. Of course me as a 17 year old metal kid, I basically said something along the lines of "they don't sound anything like sepultura therefore they're shit and I don't care" and I never bothered to check them out as I clearly had more important things to do. A year later after they released their debut, my official line to all my friends was that I hated it and everything about them but secretly I was listening to it on my walkman and loving it more and more. Despite loving more intricate music, there was something about their approach, its simplicity and their directness. I'd go further than most people and say that after they recorded Some Might Say, they only recorded about another 10 truly great tracks. In much the same way that in a technical sense Steven Adler is most definitely the worst drummer that has ever played in Guns and Roses, he also happened to grace all their best songs. I think history smiles on Tony McCarroll and his contribution to music! Also Liam has one of the best voices in rock history but to be honest, I think most people would find it difficult to work with him as let's face it, he's a bit of a cunt.
I think if you watch the latest BBC documentary on liam your opinion of him will change .Behind that hard image is a really nice bloke and hes turned his life around thanks to Debbie and good on him i say
Noel is the person in a group project at school or work who puts all the time, effort, and work into the presentation, and Liam is the person who can show up late, not work at all, but does a fantastic job presenting and then proceeds to get all the credit. I can't blame Noel for holding a grudge against Liam back then or today. He did everything (writing, producing, interviewing- all while his brother was out drinking all day and night), got no credit (except monetarily), and his brother gets all the attention while being a total psychotic pain in the ass. That being said, I love them both. Oasis 4 life
In that Liam is the one who is desperate to reform oasis but his big mouth has made sure it'll never happen - and he knows it - and tries to blame noel for everything he miself has done.
Honestly, It is no ones business but Liam's and Noel's. Yeah, it sucks the band broke up, but they kind of lost more than that, which is horrible to think about. Of course two brothers that fought like that will talk shit on each other. You can't blame one without blaming the other.
Behavior is typically cyclical... Noel rode Liam's rollercoaster for so many years, he's obviously decided to step off the ride and take a breather. He's well aware any "truce" would be short-lived, Liam would lip-off and they'd be estranged once more. There comes a point when you realize that you can (and should) choose to associate yourself only with positive individuals who bring something meaningful to your life, and you cut the toxic people out. Does wonders for your emotional well-being. Everyone moaning that Noel needs to grow up simply because "he's your brother" have obviously been fortunate to never have found themselves in such a situation, or they would better understand it's not that simple. That being said, Noel would be wise to stop mouthing off too and demonstrate his maturity through some discretion... he's hold the higher ground that way. But that's not the Gallagher way, is it?
just went to see Liam in concert and i was not expecting much (im not a massive fan i went along with bf 😀) but i have to say he performed amazing ! its a shame what happened between them and obviously fans would love oasis back ..i dont think it will happen..as Liam somewhere said they have been offered millions to get back but its not about money. wich i think is a good thing seeing they wont pretend to get along great just to bag a big deal. we can only hope and wish things will change and maybe someday we will see oasis again! ❤️
Noel talks about his brother and why he doesn't get along, and he goes "now it got personal". Really Noel? It got personal with one of your family members? 4:35
you can count on noel to be interesting and say something and all he has to do is be self reflective and think for a moment before he answers. can't get enough of this guy. wish his interviews were more in depth. and i believe liam has aspbergers and possibly some mild alcohol brain damage. that's why he should forgive him. my brother has aspbergers, i got a restraining order against him. but i forgive him and love him and wish him well even though being around him is too much risk for me.
I think the rivalry between Liam and Noel stems from their father. Apparently Noel was always the main target of the beatings that their father dished out and Liam was the baby and was the one who was favoured (although probably wasn’t immune to a beating either) and it would have been natural for a bit of resentment to have grown from Noels perspective towards his brother. Fast forward a few years and Oasis are flying high and the fans dress up and act like Liam, Liam is a great front man, a great rock singer and is better looking and becomes the face and attitude of the band and again it is natural that Noel would feel the same resentment and it would have caused a lot of friction between the pair. I in no way think Noel is at fault. His resentment was born from his fathers aggressive and hideous behaviour. Noel is a great song writer, but I guarantee that he would have also wanted to have been in Liams position too. It’s not Noels fault, and maybe Liam never realised that the impact of their childhood may have had a bearing on their relationship later on, and could have done more to support Noel in that respect. They are both at fault for the breakdown of their relationship and It’s such a shame that they don’t talk to each other, when really they should be supporting each other because as it stands their father has won.
I could listen to this dude all day, and I never say that about music stars because they rarely have fuck all of interest to say, no matter how much they try. But this geezer is a different kettle of gravy.....and funny as fuck....
Noel’s a legend for writing all their great hits and ripping on guitar for sure and Liam’s voice which is a great unique voice really made the songs that much better
Liam admits Noel is a great songwriter. He (Liam) also said that singing is his gig, and he is happy when he do the job and not happy when he's bot doing the job. So when Noel does the writing and singing, Liam has nothing to do but walk around the stage and wait around until the song is done.
If Cyberpunk (2077) becomes reality (IRL), i'd want Noel as my Johnny Silverhand !! Just popping up with his little hologramatic nuggets of pure genius !
I can see why Noel would think insulting his wife and kids is unforgivable. Liam would have to offer a huge olive branch to them first, but Noel probably doesn't want Liam to contact them in any way ever again. On the other side, I don't like the whole "I'm incapable of forgiveness" mindset. To have that, you have to believe that you're better than the person who wronged you. And I think that's how Noel sees Liam. He looks down on him like he's better so he has no urge to forgive someone he doesn't have any respect for.
I think you're right, but I think it also goes both ways. I think Liam has always been jealous that Noel was the main man in Oasis, which is where a lot of his anger and aggression has come from over the years. There's definitely an inferiority complex there. it's sad, but that's family dynamics played out in the public eye, I guess.
He can say that, and Liam can say what he wants, but both are just too arrogant to work together. They play music and act like they're so much better than any other human. Be humble, appreciate the talent you've been given. Show appreciation to your fans over yourselves... (THEY ARE WHY YOU ARE RELEVANT AT ALL!)
Noel just swallow what happened what's been said that's family if you are the strong one in this case make it happen..from a fan that follows you for the last 23 years ..
It's not about words Liam said it's really about Noel can't take the fact, Liam is the front man and supposably the "leader" of Oasis even tho Noel does all the work. They both wanna be Lennon none wants to be McCartney. That's the real issue.
It's true... while Noel may not have gone far without Liam... he doesn't need him NOW... in life you have to take what's good for you, discard them when they are no longer useful or piss you off too much....
It doesn't matter if someone is a brother or a sister. There are some things you can't come back from. I haven't spoken to my brother and a couple of sisters for years. A may be able to have some civility with the two sisters, you know like "Hello"..."Good-night" but that'll be it. But with my brother, no, fuck him. Some things can't be repaired or fixed. Sometimes, that's just the way it is. Family is more than just blood. It's not enough to just be blood to be close.
For me Noel Gallagher is a bully. He is doing the same thing that is father did, but in a different way. He likes to control his brother. I think that Liam is more honest and transparent. Noel is more creative, but he seems like a person more concerned about power.
EricSamuel Aguirre Noel is a little more subdued however Liam is an incredibly real and honest person and there’s something very special about that. One day soon everybody in the world will know the amazing thing he did
That isn't the first interview that he has said something like that. He said in another interview recently he doesn't care what the fans like or want. He doesn't do it for them etc... He's the problem, not Liam.
@@cos626 I just watched an interview where he walked out of an airport and that was one of the things he said. I think he genuinely cares about his fans but he said it. although it was from like 1995
@@PrestonDTLT No I know, he has always had his I'm a god and am untouchable moments. But he did that mostly or all in his young days. He loves Oasis and the fans the same. Noel is more a asshole now than ever.
if anything, screw OASIS i just want them to be brothers, but itll never be how liam wants it, where they together in a band, think liams gonna have to accept it, hes better off alone anyway, and remember the memories with Noel, cause i dont think their relationship will ever be the same. Noel wants somethign different, and even tho Liam doesnt know it or want to know it, hes changed too,,, changed is the wrong word, theyve both grown as people, and sometimes you grow apart and new peopel come into your life, thats just the way it is.... but noel and liam and making good music. let it be. if anything liam NEEDS to write a song with Chris martin, maybe a few songs... it could be incredible.
As a son with an Irish mother who hasn't talked to her sister for 30 plus years I can identify a bit with noel's so called 'Resolve' and I think it very unlikely he will go back on his word about taking to Liam again let alone oasis getting back together.
Comparing the two, to me, offstage... I see them both as egotistical, narcissists. But Liam goes about it like he's unaware. Like an underdeveloped, punk. Liam seems self aware, and isn't apologetic about his behaviour which to me is better. It's almost funny when he shows that side of him, with Liam it just annoys me.
It was Liam who started the band, not Noel. Noel was a roadie and had no intention of being in a band. Liam is responsible for everything and that includes Noel’s success in the business 😉
You can see how Noel’s upbringing affected who he is. How he had to annex his father is how he now treats another family member. Which is totally unfair on Liam. For want of a better word, it is pathetic. Noel’s walls are still up within his mind, his sharp wit, his songwriting accolades, his solo career, his wealth... he now answers to nobody outside of his bubble. It’s textbook psychology at a really basic level. He is still the child protecting himself from the pain and horrors of his past. I don’t doubt he knows all this because he is far from stupid, however he isn’t brave enough to deal with it. Thus it gets directed it at Liam, blaming him for the situation rather than just growing up and sorting it out. He is still the hurt child.
To be fair, Noel did nothing irreparable...made a few comments ect. Let’s not forget, Liam threatened to sue Noel, fact. He slagged his wife off in a very public method. I wouldn’t feel there’s any coming back from that either. But I’d love them to sort it out, one day they’ll regret it if they don’t
Yeah I think Liam doesn't quite get it. Noel certainly made jabs at him constantly l, but I see some similarity to how my older brother jabs at me. He is a little bit joking, and a little bit trying to get him to get his shit together. Liam seems to not be capable of the nuance and never crossing that line that everyone has.

It seems quite clear Noel values the relationship with his brother more than the band Oasis. I think that's just natural and the way it should be. I know fans of the band don't want to believe that. Noel gets it. Oasis has been and is no more. Let their music be their legacy.
Yeah we can see he never got into therapy
Jennifer Shelley You've read my thoughts. I knew there must have been something wrong with his past but hearing that from him really shocked me
@Maria - Hopefully they will be able to forgive each other and have some kind of relationship before it's too late.
Life is so fragile....... and if anything happened to either of them, the other would be devastated.
Jennifer Shelley Exactly. I think it's kind of funny that they don't talk to each other in their private lives but they always get asked about each other in their interviews. It's like the interviewer tries to make peace somehow
Sad to hear the "to the grave" comment. Their respective impact on our culture begs for them to reconcile.
They’re back together now so don’t be sad anymore! Lol
Just because he is your brother, don't mean you have to like him..
No you have to like him just because he's your brother.
If you loved him in the past what changes now, its not like he's your friend or a wife
You don’t have to like him, but you should still LOVE him.
as the years go by. i think liam is actually the smarter brother
Oh you mean that one who goes on to twitter blabbering insults to his brother? Riiiiight....

This was a great interview! Truly open and honest
Liam is wild and he probably didn’t mean it but people say things in anger and sometimes you can’t fix it. Would be amazing to see a reunion but actually think it’s been good for Liam’s solo career. Both brothers are better off solo at this point musically.
Liam Gallagher's voice is so unique.
They were so good man. Fantastic melodies
Oasis 4 life
I prefer Liam, but that's actually an interesting way of putting it
The lesson is, be handsome and you won’t have to work so hard and make a fool out of yourself
James Hargreaves believes 'D'you Know What I Mean?' is about Noel's abusive relationship with his father.
Finally the obvious truth.
In that Liam is the one who is desperate to reform oasis but his big mouth has made sure it'll never happen - and he knows it - and tries to blame noel for everything he miself has done.
2:50 He literally looks the same as now
Honestly, It is no ones business but Liam's and Noel's. Yeah, it sucks the band broke up, but they kind of lost more than that, which is horrible to think about. Of course two brothers that fought like that will talk shit on each other. You can't blame one without blaming the other.
Never want to hear champagne supernova sung like that ever again!
kobyjones why
Dude that was their greatest era. Liam was untouchable.
Think he was on about Noel singing it
@@badgasaurus4211 Yeah Noel shouldn't sing Champagne Supernova. Ever.
@@evilubuntu9001 Why? He wrote it afterall?
I know it's none of my business and that it is between them. But I do hope that these two brothers work it out. I really do.
just went to see Liam in concert and i was not expecting much (im not a massive fan i went along with bf 😀) but i have to say he performed amazing ! its a shame what happened between them and obviously fans would love oasis back ..i dont think it will happen..as Liam somewhere said they have been offered millions to get back but its not about money. wich i think is a good thing seeing they wont pretend to get along great just to bag a big deal. we can only hope and wish things will change and maybe someday we will see oasis again! ❤️
Noel talks about his brother and why he doesn't get along, and he goes "now it got personal".
Really Noel? It got personal with one of your family members?

@@George-gg4pb Are you asking me or yourself?
Liam brought his wife and kids to their feud who has nothing to do with it. Fucking fangirls....
@TheGooners11 do you know her personally then?
you can count on noel to be interesting and say something and all he has to do is be self reflective and think for a moment before he answers. can't get enough of this guy. wish his interviews were more in depth. and i believe liam has aspbergers and possibly some mild alcohol brain damage. that's why he should forgive him. my brother has aspbergers, i got a restraining order against him. but i forgive him and love him and wish him well even though being around him is too much risk for me.
Liam has aspbergers hahahahahaha
Imagine liams reaction if he read this 😂😂
Where is this interview from?
tcruzale Sunday Morning

"I haven't been in here since I left."
Noel coming out with the head scratchers.
This one makes my heart hurt. 💔
Lol why nobody mentioned asked what’s the interview it is
Liam admits Noel is a great songwriter.
He (Liam) also said that singing is his gig, and he is happy when he do the job and not happy when he's bot doing the job.
So when Noel does the writing and singing, Liam has nothing to do but walk around the stage and wait around until the song is done.
Just dropping by to retroctively doubt Noel's resolve and joyously wrap myself in his pity.
LITERALLY
I was lucky to grow up enjoying Oasis when it was fresh and new.
If Cyberpunk (2077) becomes reality (IRL), i'd want Noel as my Johnny Silverhand !!
Just popping up with his little hologramatic nuggets of pure genius !
They should bury the hatchet before it's too late. They are brothers after all not friends. They share same blood.
@@propjoe1060 I 100% agree, def insecurity from Liam's side that added to the strain and messed with the dynamics of the relationship.
@@propjoe1060no Liam was the main man as he was the front man.
Noel at Sifters is akin to Macca showing up at the barbers on Penny Ln.
He seems to be more at peace then Liam is.
Liam appears more angry and volatile.
Its because they are too alike and both stand their ground.
I think Liam and Noel have a long way to go yet. Baby steps.
I traveled back in time and I put that Guitar in that room.

Noel is quite the witty man
It's not about words Liam said it's really about Noel can't take the fact, Liam is the front man and supposably the "leader" of Oasis even tho Noel does all the work.
They are two fully grown men with families what do you think they are gonna just start hanging around with eachother again lol
They are now! 😂
One day soon everybody in the world will know the amazing thing he did
Noel looks exactly like his father.

Nope. They literally didn't
I did just hear him say "it's not about the fans" right?

if anything, screw OASIS i just want them to be brothers, but itll never be how liam wants it, where they together in a band, think liams gonna have to accept it, hes better off alone anyway, and remember the memories with Noel, cause i dont think their relationship will ever be the same. Noel wants somethign different, and even tho Liam doesnt know it or want to know it, hes changed too,,, changed is the wrong word, theyve both grown as people, and sometimes you grow apart and new peopel come into your life, thats just the way it is.... but noel and liam and making good music.
let it be.
if anything liam NEEDS to write a song with Chris martin, maybe a few songs... it could be incredible.
God they were class weren’t they?
Godammit guys, leave Noel and Liam's brother relationship alone
As a son with an Irish mother who hasn't talked to her sister for 30 plus years I can identify a bit with noel's so called 'Resolve' and I think it very unlikely he will go back on his word about taking to Liam again let alone oasis getting back together.
He was taking it to his grave before that bs. Knob
please don't say that your relationship with your brother is beyond repair. time passes, things work out.
4:33 💔
Ffs before the world ends I want these two brothers to make up....for the love of the 90's guys please end the feud and get together.
It was Liam who started the band, not Noel. Noel was a roadie and had no intention of being in a band. Liam is responsible for everything and that includes Noel’s success in the business 😉
except noel wrote every song lmao
Noel is the level-headed out of the two, his brother is a maniac and that is the problem.
Other way around
Two sides to every story!
Poignant interview.
lol Noel’s height compared to the interviewer makes me laugh so much for calling Yorke a dwarf 😂
Forgiveness goes a long way. Noel said it, he’s a cat and Liam is a puppy. Cats are cold.
Remember who the real enemy is and has been.
Come on Noel mate, get it back together
