Ninja levels of attention to detail and genuine, massive ability. I swear a part of Stuart’s soul must live within you. A massive thank you for keeping what we love and cherish about Stuart and BC alive. (Skulks off to contemplate how far off the mark those patches on my Fender Mustang are……..)

Right on! Nice collection of the classic gear they used and your tone sounds dialed in. I have the same blue face MXR 129, with the display unit and original footswitch. I had it listed for sale for several years but nobody seemed to be interested in it so I just put it back in my rack now.

Excellent video! I was recently watching some BC videos from The Tube and I assumed they were using Eventide H3000 harmonizers but I subsequently read about the MXR pitch shifters Stuart & Bruce used. You sound examples are spot-on. Thank you for demonstrating all this.

I really enjoyed this video ! The only thing that is missing to get that perfect tone is the showman amp. Which I might be getting. I think it's the only way to get that exact whaling overdrive. Thanx for posting. :) wish I was in scotland, would share a beer and talk gear :)

I may have missed it but I figured it was worth asking -- are the delays running into the loops of the amps? If not, how do you control them from getting too intense when run into the gainy amp? I've been trying to program some Big Country-esque sounds into my Source Audio Nemesis but even at low mix volumes it is a very aggressive delay sound.

Is this the exact same combination of the exact same racks Stuart and Bruce used ?
It’s the same contents as the racks had when I saw BC live in 1986. The Bruce rack only has one Pitch Transposer, but has a Flanger/Doubler and a Yamaha SPX90 which Stuart’s doesn’t have.

The accent is fine, was waiting for the “Fields of Fire” tone 😉! Do you have a duplicate system for your co-pilot, and if you do who thought of it first?
The rack I demonstrated has the same contents as Stuart’s when I saw them back in 1986. It’s hooked up a bit different, though. He only used one of the Korg Delays (the other was a spare) but I’ve set mine up to use both, so after the AB switch the dirty and clean signals go through separate delays.
I’ve also got a Boss ES5 in the back, which controls the Digitech Whammy, and a programmable EQ which is used on a couple of songs to boost or cut the guitar volume.
I’ve also got a Bruce rack sitting below it, with an MXR Flanger/Doubler, Yamaha SPX90, two Korg SDD2000’s, Psionics noise gate and MXR Pitch Transposer, but I haven’t built the foot board for that yet!
So awesome to hear these guitar sounds again! I was really amazed by the way you played The Storm; it sounds just like an e-bow. Were you just plucking the strings directly?
No, it was Ebow.

Two Fender London Reverbs. 100watt equivalents of the Showman (which is 200w). We have 4 Showmen and 2 Londons at our disposal in Restless Natives.

@@marc12marc identical - just less loud and clean channel breaks up at lower volume.
@@marshallheadkt66 Very interesting because I have a '83 Showman and I actually made the mistake of putting the chassis into a twin Fender cabinet so I could have two speakers instead of the one (added a EV) but now the amp is way too loud for my purpose. It was too loud before, but now way too loud and the heaviest amp in the world, hehe. Picking up a Vox AC30 with alnicos is nothing compared to picking up this amp. I believe Fender made some Showman back then with two speakers but they're extremely rare.
What guitar are you using?
Yamaha SG2000 I think.
@@marshallheadkt66 That would make perfect sense. I've had a green Stuart Adamson model since '84. After watching him and John McGeoch playing them for a few years (John Mc had 1000s I think) it was a dream come true. I can't say I ever managed to leap around on stage with mine on though. They weigh a ton.
