best boat i ever had !!! mine was a 2007 with the ivory leather in every cabin 3 aircons , generator and the strongest engines.... had it for many years moored in Porto Cristo mallorca, sold it 2021 to buy a house there. if i will go for a boat again it will always be a fairline !!! that one wont stay long pal...great vid as always. cheers from germany
You could sell a dozen of these over here in the States. What a peach of a boat! (Alas, even black socks are preferable to white feet, I'm afraid). Congrats once again on your 30K+ popularity; well deserved.
That is a great boat, for 20 years old it looks immaculate, I like the cherry wood I think it looks great. Thanks guys for a great tour. ps I missed the socks lol.
Really like your presentations and especially the details on cost. In addition to great information you manage to always present with a bit of humor which makes your videos even more entertaining. Only criticism here is that your vid’s are not often enough.
Great to see you back, a few scrappy 40's out there but not like this one.. Build quality is steering towards long term liveaboard and saunter south at 10knts.. Skipper has a great view with that sunbed to starboard :)
I just discovered these reviews and love them thanks guys. Just one comment I would like to make, 80 LPH at 20 Knots would be great. More like 120 LPH for a 2004 40 footer would be more realistic. Having said that this one's only done 25 hours per year so I'm sure the diesel cost has not really factored in!
What a boat. You find 2014 models that need, I mean NEED, the Seatag treatment. This one is almost good to go! The blue velour, sure. A modern GPS screen for the helm. Probably some changes to lights to LED. But otherwise perfect. I guess that's why a twenty year old 40 foot boat is still £200k.
I really want a nice boat with a fly bridge, but I honestly cannot justify the purchase cost. I cannot fathom where the money is. I understand there are usually a nice pair of diesel engines, electronics, and equipment. But the fit out of bathrooms, cupboards and Galley is like a glorified motorhome. 300-500k for 22yr+ boat is nuts! maybe ill just have to stick with wasting money on planes until i win the lottery 😢
Maybe the previous owner liked the old WW1 flying movie with George Peppard called 'The Blue Max'. No kettles were shot down or injured during the making of the movie as far as know. I think young Dan is taking the proverbial out of you James. Make him wear it as a hat, he could whistle a tune.😅
Always love your tours, nice boat but hate the guest cabin only twin beds, if I had guests, they would always be a couple and couples dont sleep in separate beds anymore (not in 2004 either). Actually, you looked like it was a bit of a squeeze to get through the doors to the cabins as well as the showers. Have you really got that much bigger or are they a little on the small size. My stomach is starting to stick out a little also, but I'm still skinny 🤣😂🤣😂.
If the twins offends you that much anyone could retrofit a board between those beds and a mattress to go on top of it then you'd have some kind of Superking. I wouldn't bother but it is perfectly feasible, its not like those beds are bunkbeds.
James. Are you still in touch with Ben H? I've just been in contact with Luke who also gave me Fraser R's email. Will be good to do a mission together one day! Come visit in the Alps!
Oh no, James showed his feet. There is a website where people pay for that sort of stuff. Not me, as I find feet disgusting to look at, but hey if the bkat business goes away James, you got something to fall back on maybe
You're skimming of the engine room makes me highly suspicious. If it says nice as you say it is, you would have taken time to show it in detail. No thanks, I'm going to take a pass.
