It takes a split second to go into your pockets and take your wallet, phone or whatever. I also rolled up my pants and put my shoes on top of them and on my side of the bed. I will say the management at NL runs a tight ship but it always takes one bad apple. If your room doesn't have a safe, bring your own and stick it under the bed at the midway point. The hotel I stayed in, I was able to form a good relationship with the management and employees to the point they looked out for me and made sure I was ok. There was even an armed guard at night. I still though as a habitual practice, keep my things locked up. Also, if you can't stand to lose it, leave it at home. I don't need my laptop, jewelry, watches, etc and I didn't bring them with me on the trip to Medellin. I know you guys know how to handle yourselves but I'm just putting this out there for those who haven't traveled to these places. I want my fellow travel brothers to enjoy, have the best time and come home safely and with your money and valuables and most of all, alive. The thing is, this could have been any one of us, so let's be vigilant out here, even at home.

I was down there that same week. I was at club Gusto talking to these dudes from Cali that go rob by some chicks. I knock down five chicks down there and i didn't have any issue. I just hit it and send them on the way. The key is don't bring two female back to your place and hide your valuable in a spot where people least expected to check.
