Some good advice bro. I speak both English and Spanish fluenty and been to Med over a decade ago. It was good then and everyone tells me it's like 10x better now so can't wait to go back. Doesn't matter where you go in the world, if some stranger sees you as a foreigner with lots of money you can be set up or taken advantage of. That's even in the US. Cartagena isn’t good to meeting people short term. I was there a month ago and I didn’t get enough time. I only had 6 days. I did go on the city tour checked out centro mall and went on the Freedom tour. And it was good but the area of Old City seemed tonnage some tourist and P4P in the clubs. And that doesn’t do Justice for the whole city. I would need a minimum 2 months to be there.

El paisa is very anti bringing a girl back to your room but if you MUST because you want to flex on your girl because you already booked a luxurious hotel/Airbnb and want to get your fifty shades of grey on with a bad ass balcony and view of the city like I like to do instead of taking them to nasty shady hotels. These are SOME of the rules! 1. DO NOT BRING CHEAP STREET OR TINDER girls to your room! Only bring high end club girls or higher priced prepagos/fb girls. The less priced she is the more likely you are to be drugged. 2. Only bring them if your place has 24 hr security and they check cedula/ID. 3. Do not take them to your room if you don’t speak Spanish. 4. Use common sense and hide all your valuables before you even leave your room, do not leave them in plain sight when you come back with the girl. 5. Avoid drinking in the room but if you must, watch your drink at all times and just get to what you brought her up for. 6. Most places with security won’t allow more than 1 girl at a time but either way NEVER invite more than 1 girl to your place. 7. WATCH YOUR DRINK AT ALL TIMES.

My advice to solo travelers is be extremely stingy with your trust. If you do meet a girl online or even in person do what I do very simply explain to them that your a foreigner and you need to protect yourself and request they provide you with there photo government identification so you can take a picture of it if the make excuses that they don’t have it there lying to you because everyone in Colombia carries there identification if they don’t provide you with the identification run away and run away fast.
