Great build by Subaru themselves, even better they DITCHED the new FA24 and put in a old school EJ20 built by Vermont Sportscar in to the new VB when they needed power!
I think it’s just because they don’t wanna spend money on a new setup. It’s the same deal with the ara car that Travis pastrana drove this year, and mats I think. No fa24, they simply don’t (probably) have the r & d money
@@xtrekrex I didn't see anywhere I mentioned FA24 was bad I just said Subaru ditched the FA24 for EJ engine. If you got offended by Subaru not using the FA24 and Subaru using the EJ engine instead that's on you, I don't control Subaru and can't force them otherwise. For me I like both FA and EJ and I personally thought this was a cool. Project midnight with 670hp EJ and Huckster with 862hp stroked EJ is cool and didn't make me feel bad about having FA.
@@DrD21486 I was at the Vermont Sportscar shop two days ago, they're the ones Subaru hired to build this 670hp 9500rpm engine. I asked them the same thing but they said even though the FA been out since 2012 in Japan and it's been over a decade, that even Subaru's racing division still used a EJ20 in their BRZ GT300 race car, and Subaru worked with them (VSC) on building EJ engine for their official VB rally car and also this Project Midnight VB race car. I asked if they consider FA anytime soon and they said no, EJ currently is the best Subaru motor. I think that doesn't take anything away from the FA though, it's a good engine in a daily drive like the FA24 in VB, and give it time in the future and it could be beast.

Speaking as if the FA24 is a bad engine. It was used on the NBR race car and lapped the ring faster than any other prior NBR STi.
