I’m a 25 year fox owner but I have no problems saying the 4.6 with exhaust is the best sounding Mustang produced.
The n/a 4.6 4v is the best sounding thing I've ever heard
@@billyray4716 3v sounds better, but the 4v is super close.
@@Odin3v I own a 3v now and it's really hard to say which I like more. I guess I can't decide until I get a 4v too, both are magnificent though
@@billyray4716 my best friend has a 98 mystic cobra with a 4v. Sounds glorious. 3v has more grunt and thicker sound and 4v has that raspy race car sound. I love both.
@@Odin3v nah my 05 had catbacks and I’ll still take a 2v all day sound wise. 3v close tho
4.6 2vs are still the best sounding engines
They are reliable as well
What kind of madness are you speaking? Nothing and I mean NOTHING will ever sound as good as my 5.0🤚
@@FoxcastMedia until they blow a spark plug!! And spin a bearing, ask me how i know this!! Lol
@@grandspringdale1564 b cam?? Oh you mean that 5.0. No they sound like shit. Love them, they can be fast, but they sound like shit
@@grandspringdale1564 bull. The 4.6 with long tubes no cats any mud pipe and Borland or straight pipes will always be the beaut sounding engine. The coyote doesn’t sound different at low rpm by much coyotes sound like Mercedes over 5000rpm
Love the New Edge content! Can't wait to see what you do with these two new cars!
I believe they will be for sale, not for sure
With comp 270s long tubes and intake my 4.6 2v made 293 whp I’ve ran 13.4 with a 2.2 60 ft on street tires.
What do you use to tune them? Especially if you have cams
@@natedawg23451000 got to find someone who will tune the stock ecu s, hard to find people that will in Ohio. Not sure about your location. I had to drive 3 hours to Columbus and paid 800$ to get it tuned.
@@wyattyeary8050 damn, I’m in Texas so I’m sure I can find someone here
@@natedawg23451000 for sure
What was your trap that is what tells the story. A 13.4 with a crap 60 isn't doing you justice as far as telling people what it could do that is very misleading. That is a deep 12 second car on slicks.
I love new edges so much. I've got a 99 I'm restoring and an 02 that's coyote swapped and vmp supercharged. If I had the space I'd have 2 or 3 more lol
I'd love to feel the acceleration of a supercharged coyote new edge. That's the dream right there. With a t56, shittt
I have a 07 gt fbo and cammed can’t decide if I want a new edge or a 11-14 coyote
@@HydraHiii depends in your budget, if you can swing an 11-14 mustang outright then do that. But if you have to do payments I'd honestly say fuck that and get a new edge
Always enjoy the New Edge content, and multiple New Edges are even better..As far as the cammed silver bullit, it pretty quick once you gety the RPM's up, she could really use
some gears, it would wake her up a bit.
I have stage 3 CNC ported heads from MHS and their stage 2.5 cams for my sn95 as a winter project. Should make it better to defend itself on the streets ;)
My buddy has a new edge with a 96-98 block/pi heads with a small set of comp cams and his car hits alright
I really loved my fox bodies. But even with an anemic horsepower in stock form, I love my 98 GT. That being said, I have yet to see a single street driven NA 2V built the way I know they can be, and surprisingly fast. I know they exists from the amount of builds buried deep on forums. Plus, engine math doesn’t lie. Please be up for the challenge and record it! 🙏
Lots and lots of cash to do an all out 2V, but I appreciate the idea, we shall see
@@FoxcastMedia used trickflow 38cc heads, flat piston 3.700” big bore sleeved aluminum explorer or wap block. This will yield a 14.8:1 compression. Top it off with trickflow street burner intake, run e85, custom cams from NA SVT Todd warren( actually more affordable then you think)to MATCH the setup. Run Ford factory coyote rods, stock rebalanced crank. I’d top it off with ported oil pump and throw some off the shelf longtubes. Of course there’s a few things like Static and dynamic balance of the rotating assembly, ati balancer, after market efi, custom tuned length long tubes, messing with different plugs, gap, etc but I think it’s just squeezing the last bit out of it. Still should have really good torque down low, and of course hp is just torque X rpm divided by 5252 in simplest form. So peak intake range is around 7200 right? Perfect street engine.
@@rayman1230 yeah, you absolutely could do that. Or buy a terminator. Not hating on my 2v brothers, but you’re talking about a lot of money to make 400rwhp.
@@uncleremis69 considering stock headed, stock intake, 284 or less cubic inch NMRA Factory stock guys are running 10s and 380 rwhp; should make a lot more then 400rwp. And for far less then going out and buying a Termy. Most big bore only setups in mild form are putting down 420 or more at the wheels.
@@rayman1230 cool, that’s a $200 pulley swap in a terminator. Boom 450rwhp right there. Like I said, I’m not hating, 2v just can’t flow the air. And all an engine is, is an air pump.
I kinda do love the New Edge cars. I can dig them for what the are. Just need to found one.
Love the new edge videos!
Lot more to come, I appreciate the feedback
Really like the silver new edge miss having one sold my 03 dsg terminator in November of 2020 and miss having a new edge
Man just got me a 2v about 2 months ago. 02 convertible auto. She was a turd when I got it 100% bone stock. Did a cold air intake bbk throttle body/plenum with a 1” spacer and a sctx4 Cut the mufflers off. Got some 4.10 gears to go in it along with a 2800rpm stall and a j-mod kit. Also got a nitrous express nozzle kit jetted for a 75 shot right now. Can’t wait to get the transmission and gears done got some et streets on the back. I wasn’t going to do anything to the car but I messed up 3rd gear in my 3v so I decided to try and make the 2v a little faster till I can get my trans fixed in the 3v. I’m still driving the 3v I just gotta skip from 2nd to 4th. So no racing it from a dig at least. Hoping I can get this 2v in the low 12’s at least. The 3v ran 12.6’s on motor and never got to get a nitrous hit at the track but did run an 11.7 @ 121mph on the street with a draggy.
Good Video!!
That Silver Car Sounds Good!!
Keep them new edge videos coming bro, you should build a stock new edge build it your way and try and max out the power on the stock 4.6 and obviously make it look clean as hell
I agree id love to see a 4.6 build on the channel
Hmmm I dont know much about new edge but this thigns pretty bad ass.
The New Edge Mustangs are the best ever keep them coming
New edges are trash…🤣🤣🤣
Will do buddy
@@NewEdgeDesigns wring the s550s are trash.
Dover bout slipped up. Lol. Cool cars. Alex always hustlin for sure.
I have 295s on my new edge & they rub. I gotta get the fenders rolled. Wish I could fit a 315. The car is lowered quite a bit too.
GREAT VIDEO🔥🔥
It sounds like great content brother! I will be right here!! 👍
Thanks buddy!
Those are some beautiful Mustangs…I may be a little biased…
They are a great platform for whatever you want to do
I got a question hoping you can help me out , I'm working on a 04 Mustang GT 2v 4.6 stock block and pistons , how can I successfully run the stage 3 comp cams ? without having any piston to valve contact .
The black 02 that was wrecked won't start with out the air filter hooked up cause of the maf sensor
New edge mustangs definitely get a huge following compared to fox bodies. Not knocking the fox bodies because they are superior cars but the new edge mustang is more tenable and not to mention a very sexy looking car 👍 Glad to see you guys putting these bad boys back on the street and hopefully they find new great homes. Great work and great videos. Keep them coming .
The new edge is superior to the fox you mean lol. I've owned multiples of both and I get it there is a soft spot for foxes I have them too it certainly isn't superior to a new edge it's the other way around.
I have had dozens of foxes (Im old) and if I never have another one thats Ok. For a race car maybe, sure, but I can't ignore the hideous dash of the 87-93, the eternally leaking t-tops when they were offered, brutal brakes, 4 bolt pattern, so much shit..but at one point I spent buckets of $$ on them like people do now. Difference is nostalgia has hit the buyers now hard..and they pay way more than I will for a trip back to the 80's/90's.. The mod ford, esp in 2v form costs a million bucks to make any real power with but as mentioned is a superior car to a fox in almost every way. Still fun to see these videos and watch people play with what is now termed "old school".@@midnight347
With that black convertible car if you part it out I am very interested in the style bar for my 99 gt vert
i have a 1998 f150 4.6 was thinking abot doing bbk headers w catless c pipe
Clean blk auto. I hear ya Nard on the boost . Caint wait to see the install. Give that silver car a gear and a bottle lol
Loving the new edge content. Keep up the awesome work.
Boosted 2v or coyote swap 2v?
Thank you sir! Not sure what the fate of the black and silvers cars will be, but will be adding boost to the other car thats already swapped
@@FoxcastMedia don’t coyote swap this 2v forge and build the 2v easy 1000hp reliably.
new Edge Mustangs and foxbodys are simply the two best
What is the highest miles Mustang New Edge you ever found? and how many miles can this V2 4.6L can go?
I have an 04 sonic blue that doesn’t have the traction control button. It doesn’t have ABS either.
Great content updates on the harley build also you guys are hiring man I would love to work with you guys bad ass rides man
My 2000 edge is just a v6.
And that's good enough for me.
Awesome coyote swap, though. Dang! :)
Great video I have a question? I had to replace both of my emergency brake cable on 2002 mustang gt . I'm having trouble with getting the cables on in the rear do you have any pointers
Did you ever figure it out? I’m having the same issue since I replaced my rear brakes and cannot for the life of me get the cables back on the rear calipers.
Probably run a lot better with the stock intake that big intake manifolds kills the power under 5,500 RPM
Maybe it's the cam& intake choice, but this one seems sluggish compared to mine. I have a 04gt with comp 262's, TFS valve springs, BBK off-road x-pipe, Flowmaster 40's in factory tail pipes, and a Brenspeed custom tune. Not knocking you guys, I love your videos, but seems like something isn't quite right with that one.
What cam is in it. Sounds great
I have a 01 GT with 23k on the clock. Bought it new in oct of 01. I'm on the fence about coyote swapping it. Seems like I'm the only one thinking its a good idea all my friends say just leave it alone such a clean car. Watching this channel makes me want to swap it.
If it's still original I'd probably leave it. Or if you swap it do it right, everything nice and clean
Either way that’s gold.
Nah buy a cheaper new edge with a blown motor
Yeah I wouldn't touch it..buy some clapped out one to tear apart. Its already almost impossible to find a clean unmodded pre 05 GT, I would just hang on to it.@@cainadkins3985
I don't think that was theft mode that seems more like the fuel cutoff in the back especially how hard it was wrecked
Have an 04 sonic blue with an auto. Been talking with the wife. Think we may ship it to you for a coyote, 6spd auto conversion. It's unmolested 50,000 mile original. Been in the family since new. My retirement present (conversion) to myself!!!! Do you have contact info?
What Wheels are on that silver car I'm in love with them
The look of disappointment in his face as he banged 2nd told me everything I needed to know
What cam is it on the silver Mustang
You don’t need a coyote to be fast just build that 2v and it’ll walk a coyote swap lol
Is it true you can run forced induction on a npi 2 valve on stock internals with out blowing up the engine if you keep the boost at 8 pounds? I have a 98 gt I bought pi heads haven't installed yet but I'm debating on just selling the car cause I'm not in thr market of spending 15 grand to make this thing break 300 wheel reliably. 400 would be nice or close it. Being bolt ons do shit with this car I'd like to get some real info cause boost seems like the only way to go in my opinion
to make any real power, yes it will be expensive and yes you need boost or a whole pile of $$ to make a powerful NA 2v.
do u have a 4.6l motor for sale in decide shape
I need yall to work on my 2000 new edge
Those engines are near indestructible. Used in heavy duty environments like F150's, Cop cars and Taxi Crown Vics, with routine maintenance, they will see 300,000 hard miles, easily. On a road trip, my 99 GT with 150k miles blew a spark plug out (one big weakness of those early modulars), and I drove it home 90 miles on 7 cylinders. Heli-coil and torque set on the other plugs, and that engine went through another 100k miles and a 2nd transmission before an untimely accident took her from me.
That silver GT doesn't sound cammed. Mine chops so hard it shakes the entire car. Also did you think that other GT you were spraying brake cleaner into was going start without the mass air hooked up?
Wish I could afford that mod
What cams?
Any suggestions for rod and piston upgrade for a 4.6 2v turbo build without breaking the bank. I already have the complete motor out of a 03 explorer and has cushman stage 2 cams installed. I'm thinking about swapping it into my Foxbody. just something different.
Used terminator internals can be decently priced…
Boss coyote rods are $200 and good for 700ish HP. I'd probably do 600hp max though in a 2v. Pistons there's none really cheap
@@sategllib2191 boss rods should Def hold 700. Guys have pushed bosses well beyond that number on good fuel. I would say it should hold 700 in a 2v.
@@NewEdgeDesigns you can also find terminator short blocks sometimes I seen one online while back for 3k.
@@midnight347 for sure it would probably do it. Just a little weary since it's not the same stroke as a coyote. Have aluminum block out of an explorer but haven't touched it yet. Finally just got my focus st together last night, gotta break in this clutch now lol
Cams high flow heads and intake make big numbers
Did u tune it ?
5:23 Putting starter fluid in a motor with no serpentine belt alternator maf what’s going to drive the water pump even if you do get it started
nothing you dont need it, it'll run for a little bit to see if engines good etc. obviously youre not taking it for a ride lol. its simply to hear and see if it runs etc. you can do this and it wont hurt anything. dont run it forever to let it overheat as that should be obvious lol. in this case the maf has to be hooked up though for it to run i believe. otherwise they'll just throw check engine lights for unplugged stuff.
Time for a budget Vortech build 2v, 400rwhp for 3k.
Those Vortech kits are high, and need injectors, etc, but who knows
Nah ebay turbo and bigger injectors just keep it under 420 wheel
Real question, how does the car not feel any faster at all after cams? I've heard they easily get you 15-20 hp and surely that makes a difference, no?
If it's got the stock rear gear - I believe is a 3.55 ( could also be a 3.27 ) ... they are fucking dog ass pigs no matter what you do. The magic gear set is a 3.73 or 4.10 - they wake up the car and you can really feel the power at that point.
@@Scrotum_69420 yea cams allow more power at higher rpm and allow power to carry out. They need gears even stock they Def need them with cams. Tuning has alot to do with it too.
Yeah I have a 98 and I’m pretty sure the return less fuel pumps are garbage compared to the return fuel pumps cause I’ve Owned two 98 with little over 100 k and both cars had to put pumps in and I Own five foxs and have 2 now and never replaced return pump one time unless it was needed one cause of power reasons
Yeah, i just had to replace the fuel pump in my 98 gt a few months ago.
I always loved the way the New Edge looked, but I just wish the 2V was more responsive to bolt-ons like an LS engine. I say this as someone who owned a 2001 GT for years with full bolt-ons and a 100 shot of nitrous.
it's the manifold. you can't make a 281 run with a manifold that's done at 5700. the victor jr and the now the trick flow manifold changed the game for 2 valves.
@@anthonyrowland9072the stock heads flow like shit as well... Now those trickflow joints, they're a different animal
@@chris.c6yeah, they flow better out the box than the best ported stock heads.
I wish the 2v was an LS engine..haven't liked a GM design since the late 90's Trans Ams but they did it right with the LS platform. Mustangs for the most part always look great though, will always have a following which is good for people into them, always have parts available etc.
I hate it when people film and they film their face instead of filming the road i like to watch the road and hear the car
I own a fox , a Sn95 is almost double to insure. I'm In my 50 s and have a clean record.. What's up with that ?
With the value of Fox bodies going up maybe all the kids pushing the limits wrecking cars on the street have moved on to SN 95 cars making them statistically more likely to cause the insurance company a claim now 🤷♂️
I am in my 50's too lol, the fox for the most part is either on a dragstrip with an LS stuck in it or at a car show owned by guys like us. There are exceptions obviously but nice ones aren't cheap anymore and also aren't what is usually seen in an intersection "takeover" or blowing through a light that has been red for over a minute. The SN95 and New edges are getting rare , but still end up in a lot of accidents due to moron drivers which thankfully are transitioning to 2005+ models if they can manage to stay employed. You pay for others mistakes, and unfortunately a lot of Mustangs end up with owners who are mistakes.
The guy is in impressed lol but still a fun car
Those black leather pony seats are so hard to find in good shape. And when you do, it’ll cost ya
We’re you getting all theses coyote engines ???
The guys don't talk much on camera lol shout out to y'all tho!!
Every single 4.6 sohc engine I ever seen cammed only last about 3 months and then they FLY TO PIECES!!!
You have no idea how funny it is when it happens especially after I told them what was going to happen..I've built a few of them and every time the timing chain and guides would fail and fly to pieces..And then it was time for the old tried and true 5.0 H.O. roller motor..They actually stay together and will smoke any 4.6 sohc 2v engine.
My 98 4.6 2valve i spent a lot of money
Building the engine..Bbk cold air.. Hypertech tune..P.I. heads..stage 3 cams..613$ ford motorsports performance ph2464 fe intake.. injectors..arias flycut pistons..H pipe flomaster super 40s..forged crank h beam rods.. Feul pressure regulator and pump..
New chain and tensioners..oil pump .And damn..2 weeks later...Junky timing chain broke..waded up and pushed the crankshaft through the oil pan..Total junk engine..So snatched the engine..Slung it .. Installed a good ole fashion 2000 model gt40p headed 5.0 with an x 303 cam.. Torquer 2 high rise intake holley 750 d.p. d.l..msd ignition..Crane roller rockers and guidplates..Shorty headers..And this thing is twice as fast now..And will rev to the moon and actually stays together..No more 281 junk for me .Too expensive to build .And they always fly to pieces..
The 98 4.6 only has 220 h.p. 99 up only has 260..What some junk..
So the chain and tensioner was replaced then it broke? Sounds like some shitty work was done.
Air flow meter is not connected..Ugh..
Boost is the best mod for a 2v
the 2v is a good super cheap alternative to 5.0 guys worrying about block strength. the iron block is good to over 800 and the aluminum block from the 3v works with a 2v head too. a 400 crank hp 2v just for a street car isn't hard at all now.
Best part is the price. The entire Panther platform and the 2v F150s to get blocks from.
Or just build the truck or Panther into something fast. Coyote is cool until you look at the price.
Who does that silver car belongs to?
I know people call this an edge car, but back in the day we all called them a fox four. Where does the “edge” name come from?
New edge mustang is refered to the change they made in '99 where they re designed the sn95 platform to look more aggressive
This 2 valve motor has a lot of issues first issue intake manifold leaks 970 bucks to fix ..I had a silver 02 Convertible nothing but a headache radiator leaked twice had to replace radiator twice ...And I had to get read of the horrible misfiring ...I didn’t know what a spark plug or ignition was until this shitless 2 Valve kept running like absolute shit
You bought a lemon..lol
I've got 200K on my 04. I myself had to replace the intake like everyone else (it wasn't very difficult at all) but it's been a good vehicle. Fires up and goes whenever I need it
Anyone notice he used brake cleaner as starter fluid?
Bad idea spraying to the throttle while cranking the engine, if that thing flash back, is going to burn his face and eyebrows 😬
Degree the cams, 4.56 gears, tune...prob 300ish hp to the tire...fun street car
The mf sounds good
that guy that got out the new edge has to be at least 6"5 lol made that mustang look tiny
these cars could have been so much better from the factory if they had the 5.4 instead with a good set of heads. ill never understand why ford thought the 4.6 was a good idea too compete with the LS's of the time.
Should've just made em all with 4vs lol
Ford for the most part has never cared about competing in HP, just selling vehicles. In the 60's the 390GT never competed with the 396, and the 4.6 never competed with the LT1 or LS unless it was heavily and expensively modded aka Terminator. Mid 80's we got lucky with the original 5.0 for cheap plus fast (for the time) but after that it was back to the usual. Ford makes a fun to dive great looking (usually) Mustang so it sells, and that is all they care about. You want them to make it fast? Ok, but better pay, or pay to fix what they gave you. Can all be done especially now but it requires breaking open the piggy bank.
Sounds good but don't look impressive at all. I'd be willing to bet a cammed Explorer 5.0 in a Fox would put gaps on it.
Seeing as how that's a "new edge" car, them CD's are probably Taylor Swift or the Backstreet Boys, or something lame like that. Certainly no Pantera, Skynyrd or David Allen Coe or anything cool like that🤣🤣🤣🤣
I am just saying.....
Fantastic comment although the last Fox I was in had Mozart tapes and furry pink dice hanging from the mirror…When we went over a bump it sounded like the car was going to crumble into pieces…🤣🤣..Kidding of course, I love all Mustangs accept 05-09..lol..🤣🤣
oh c'mon, you know Skynyrd has a permanent home in the F150 beside the Skoal...
New edge mustangs are the shit. I don't care what anybody says or thinks.
Buy whatever you like, no matter what someone will hate it anyway, might as well be happy.
Clutch mustangs are the worst Team Mustang GT Auto All day
Waste of money unless you boost it
That things slow 😂
