  • How to ship your furniture products without them arriving destroyed. Whether you need to get your grandma's antique china cabinet to your new place across the country or if you're like me and build and ship custom furniture, it needs to get there safely.
    I show you how to build a pallet, how to mount furniture to a pallet, and how to pack furniture for freight shipping. I use www.Uship.com for all of my shipping.

    Great video, I have been tossing the idea of furniture flipping around but I live in a very RURAL area, and I want to do some high-end flipping that I think would have to be shipped. this video, made me feel very comfortable that it is now a doable thing for me to handle!!!! thanks a million.....let you know when I finally dip my toes into my dream job/hobby :)

      Same here! I love in northernish Canada with nothing but tiny towns, 4 hours away from any big city. Sure I can build cool stuff, but the chances of one of the 400 people here wanting to buy it are pretty slim so I need to figure out shipping haha

    Hi, great tips! Do you have a video on how to price furniture with the shipping cost and materials to ship....?

    • @DaileyWoodworks
      @DaileyWoodworks  4 роки тому +3

      I typically ship at cost just because it’s already so expensive. In the blog post I go into what it costs to pack furniture. I’ll do a pricing video in the near future www.therecreationalwoodworker.com/blog/shipping-custom-made-furniture

    USHIP drivers usually do their own packaging. They usually pick up furniture with no customer applied protection. Do you get a discount from USHIP for doing your own packaging? And do you have to specify that your furniture is on a pallet and needs a pallet jack to move it?

    Thanks for sharing. I sell on ebay and I am thinking about selling larger items and trying to learn the best way. How do you use the round dow rod to move?

    Roughly how much space do you leave on the sides. We know you tend to leave like five more inches on the ends. Great video, thanks!

      I like to have about 3-4” on the front and back.

    This was very helpful! I do have a question about the delivery end when using Uship. Is the driver able to coordinate with the customer for them to be home when the furniture arrives? Do any carriers offer white glove service?

    Good info, thank you! How much does it cost to ship something like this?

    • @DaileyWoodworks
      @DaileyWoodworks  2 роки тому +1

      About $500-600 in today’s market. It’s gone up a lot with fuel prices, shut downs, and lack of drivers

    I have a question. What if I build furniture and I don't have a forklift. Does Uship pick up skid freight without forklift available?
