I’m gluten sensitive. Bad acne as teen. As an adult I have rosacea and tinnitus.

Have you found any improvement from on a gluten free diet with your skin?

Thank you so much for sharing this information! Sadly enough, doctors don't usually make a connection between these skin issues and gluten.

You’re exactly right. I wish skin specialists understood the link too. But like I say, all they offer is a bandaid - more creams etc. many problems stem from what we consume. Such a shame that doctors aren’t taking the time to get to the root cause.

Fyi - if someone has Dermatitis Herpetiformis unfortunately they guaranteed have Celiac Disease, however someone with Celiac does not necessarily have DH. I think Nadine (GFRN) that first mentioned.
This got me thinking, how many people are diagnosed with another Auto-immune and yet do not take the connection with gluten seriously enough to also get tested for Celiac!??
Sorry, great video thanks for sharing!

Yes you are correct. That’s why I said that people need to get a diagnosis with a biopsy. It’s very important to get a correct diagnosis and then take their celiac disease gluten free diet seriously 👍🏻 and I agree that many people don’t connect other autoimmune diseases with celiac and gluten. Lots of people suffering that shouldn’t be. Thanks so much for your feedback 🤗

After 22 years of a strict GF diet I suddenly developed an itchy rash. Accidental exposure to gluten of course and I couldn’t pinpoint the source. I had wrongly assumed that because I didn’t have dermatitis herpetiformis when I was first diagnosed that I would never get it. Took Dapsone for about 60 days, came off it, then the DH came roaring back after one week without the medication making life extremely uncomfortable due to the constant itching. I had no idea this DH was a possibility in my case so I would encourage all celiacs to be very careful to maintain a GF diet as you never know when or if DH could strike.

@@marianmccaffreyyes absolutely and great advice. So sorry to hear you’ve had to deal with DH. Hope you’re on top of it now?

I’m back on 50milligrams of Dapsone and a prescription Rupatadine antihistamine daily. My second bout of DH is retreating now and I expect to be on medication for the foreseeable future.

@@marianmccaffrey hopefully it will clear up soon. It's worth keeping a close eye on the dapsone recommendation from your dr as it's not ideal to be on antibiotics for too long. Hopefully they can work with you being on it only a short period of time.
