That's why I'm watching this video and looking at reviews. I'm thinking about putting one in my Challenger as well. How do you like it? This comment is 2 years old so you should have a good idea of what it's like.
@@yvonarsenault9158Put one in an Acura MDX this past weekend. It does a great job, even though the ELS sound system is amazing in the Acura MDX, it lacked good enough base. So far I’m pleased, as I wasn’t expecting the top of the line sound system, but rather an entry level base that would be sufficient for my needs. By the way, I only turn up the gain to about a 1/4 to less than half way, and it’s plenty enough of bass.
You do a great job breaking things like this down. You have a great sound system already - do you think the sub took away from the mids and highs on your system? Hard to tell in the video. And for sure a no brainer on less than premium systems
I have an older Camaro and while the Boston "9 speaker" system did not sound bad, i upgraded the interior speakers to JBL powered by an Alpine amp and although it increased sound dramatically i always thought it needed deeper lows. This might be an option to complement the JBL system already there(minus amp).
@@Gonin60 to be honest im just looking to fill a void in sound if you will, i am getting older and my thumping days are over so not looking to rattle my car loose either. I noticed you went from a Challenger to Camaro, i looked at getting a Challenger back then but price difference pushed me into looking at Mustangs; historically everytime i look at Mustangs i end up in a Camaro and that time was no exception 😂.
Interesting video, Austin. Having not heard the stock 2SS sound system in person, I can't really judge it via a compressed UA-cam stream, but I think I prefer the sound without the powered sub. While it was louder with the sub, it also sounded more distorted, which I don't care for. I'm not a "bass-head" anyway, and I don't think the type of music I like would lend itself to getting something like this anyway, so I feel like I'll be more than happy with the Bose system in my 2SS 1LE when it comes in.
for those wanting to buy one of these, i wouldn’t. if you are super tight for space then go with a sealed enclosure rather than a ported enclosure (with a hole) like this. in small box volumes sealed sounds much better
@@Cornetto1997 hoffman’s iron law says it all. do some research. JBL’s customers don’t care about super low end response. they know their target audience with these subs. so they keep it small box and port it so that it’s really loud, even though at this size ported response will fall off after 60hz or so. a sealed box won’t get as loud but will dig down to the 35-40hz range without issue, and actually give you sub bass response. literally search hoffmans iron law and it will explain everything i’ve said.
Bro! if we compare this active JBL with the passive 400 RMS double coil Pioneer already known to all... which yields more??? how much difference is there between them???
Hell yes, I barely have to turn mine up to get my car shaking. I've already shook off my mirrors and rear view mirror like 3 times. I put it in both my 4 runner and Subaru and shit is pretty good. JBL is always good but I was impressed with this. My friends can hear it down the street when I come over
Buy JBL Pro Subwoofer: amzn.to/3OAor4i
I love these videos! Put one in my challenger based on one of your previous videos..love it!
Thanks buddy!!

I have the older version of this subwoofer. Do you know if i could just unplug the old one and plug the new one in???
Thanks
Probably?

I removed it from the Camaro. It’s hard to improve upon the Bose system.
It’s just 150 watts with JBL’s lowest line of sub. This isn’t even worth the time to compare to the OEM unit.

Hey man, i’m from Mexico and i want to buy this subwoofer, but there are few purchasing options, do you know what is the real price of this subwoofer?
I don’t. Whatever Amazon says

Okay
Ported hits deeper though
@@Cornetto1997 not at this size it doesnt, you need a larger enclosure to compensate a longer port and therefore lower tuning

I have a 5.1 sounds system for my video games this one time I turned it loud and after I turned it down my ears were ringing 😱
Haha nice!

What audio system would you recomend for under 500
Hard to get much for that. I like kicker
Is this one better than the gt? Are the rca cables better or worse
It’s pretty much the same. Can’t comment on the rca cables as I didn’t use them
@@Gonin60 I ordered the non gt. I read that rca cables are not better. Thanks for the video and response.

Hey mann. Does it come with the high output adapter that plugs into the amp
Yes I believe so
So is it worth buying?
I like it but would get the Rockford Fosgate over it.

Will this fit in a trunk of an S550 mustang?
