- So I drove to California with my 2008 Toyota Yaris and I hit 350K Km on my way. Watch the full video of my experience. It took me about 50hrs to get to my cousin's place in California including stops.

The Yaris is an excellent and reliable car I bought mine in 2011 when my 2001 Honda Civic broke it's timing belt and messed up my engine. I bought the Yaris and I have had it for 11 years 176,000 miles, three continents while in the military and it's still going strong.
Great!!!!! Toyota's are the most reliable no questions asked.

Mine 2006 , only minor trouble (rubber parts) and still running well today 2024
I have an '07 with 265,000 miles on it that I bought new. It still runs, shifts, drives and steers perfectly with nothing ever replaced except the oil, bulbs, battery and brakes, and it's never been in a shop. It even still has the original coolant and transmission fluid (automatic).
so basically you haven't maintained it properly. But theyre such well made cars they can withstand the abuse.
You should have replace those. The coolant gets acidic over time and lost it's rust-inhibiting properties. ATF should have been regularly changed as well. It might cause slip now if replaced now though since it hasn't been changed.

Dang!! 30+ hours of drive! If I do 12 hours per day, it will take me 3 days to complete the journey. That's some hard motivation and determination. I wonder if the car engine is still alive. Respect to you.

His 2008 Toyota Yaris has 250.000 km MORE than your car has, yours has 150.000 km , so keep it serviced and it’ll run forever x
It’s at 440,000 KM now and I’ve been mainly using it as a track car now still a solid car and manual swapped it as well.

mine is a 2007 Vitz (yaris) before I thought it's fuel consumption is higher than normal but as have seen in this video and compare it it's consumption

A 5 speed yaris can get 45 mpg at 65 mph on the interstate. If the car is white you can get another 1 or 2 mpg vs a dark colored car. Keep the tires aired up to 35 psi front and 32 psi rear and don't haul unneeded crap to keep the car light.. You are welcome.

Do you have cruise control on the yaris?
I have belta and no, its just an robust engine that never dies if you take good care it doesn't have all that I think like Cruze control etc but I don't know about newer models

It’s a 15x6.5 wheels can’t remember the exact specs to be honest but my tire size is 185 60 15

Can’t remember exactly but it was manza springs I think but I’m on Tein Coilovers for now and I’m going to replace it soon :)

is this a good first car?
They last forever good gas soo yes, just remember oil changes every 3-5k miles because it makes the engine last you could get 500k miles with regular maintenance

@@Sarah14108 it’s been reliable and no major issues so far. Only issues I ran into are common part of maintenance as it’s getting old and higher mileage. But it takes me from a to b no issues at all and comfortable in my own opinion.
