I still have that on LP, scratches and all. I think they had all the time cause they aced that record! That's a great LP! Maybe if they had a decent band name instead of sounding like the singers solo project; they'd garnered more attention. Cause the music was great, vocals, bass, drums & guitars(Don played too, not sure if on this record though). Just my opinion.
Oh, I'm not sure ,Roy..You could be right ,but I think they got about what they deserved..They are a 10 million -selling album band..Nothing more ,nothing less..I like a few of their songs ,but let's be honest , they weren't as big or as talented as the other acts on the Monsters of Rock tour of 88..Named Dokken or anything else .
That's sad about all the drugs. Well, I was a Dokken fan when I was a kid. I remember everybody buying Tooth And Nail. It was because the girls loved Along Again. It was usually the girls who bought albums back then.
One thing about Mick in the drums and just walking away from the band like that is that he loved it he loved it and he knew that if he hung around and talked with everybody and everything it would stir him up and he'd want to go do it and if he did it, he'd hurt himself even worse. it's like an addict finally figuring out how you got to quit. that's just you got to hate it and you got to not like anything that comes with it at all and and playing the drums like that it becomes part of you
Them editing the guys voice is so rock-'n'-roll, and that ain't Don Dokken,it's a wonder him and Lynch made ONE record, rock-'n'-roll is immature parting having fun sometimes and George and the band brought it on their instruments, George and Don- the odd couple

In my dreams. 1st song i ever public air banded to in school. Won 1st place!! Years later. I would be in a band of my own. With much shorter hair. I might add.
I got a hold of them somehow, lol, cant say I "bought" em all, I think I might have lifted a couple of cassettes off of my older brother. I can say I remember buying "back for the attack" myself with allowance money at 7 or 8. DREAM WARRIORS was the begining and the end for me, combining George Lynch with Freddy Kruger, epic!
It's hard to make it in Rock-N-Roll when you're about as anti- rock-n-roll as can be. Don was a snooty, party hating singer who was a boring stage presence. Great voice, but no personality or charisma. He almost sounds like an 8th grade snitch telling on the other 3 in this interview.
Agreed, once would have gotten the point across. Jeff and George I could see partaking in the lifestyle at times, I know nothing about Mick, however the former two going nuts in the studio when their future is literally on the line, bullshit.
Don's a subpar songwriter and a mediocre vocalist at best. He knows it and is bitter, he should be thankful. He can sing in key and that's about the highest compliment I can give him. As hard as Lynch is to get along with, he was the talent in that band and Mick was no slouch. I can't even listen to Back for the Attack cause the lyrics are so cheesed out. Fantastic guitar playing, ruined by weak lyrics and singing. The 1st Lynch Mob album with Oni Logan blows away anything Dokken EVER recorded.
I've always loved glam bands. I'm 42 and when I saw the records when I was a kid, the bands looked like trashy super heros. Album covers like Leather Boyz with electric toys and trixter.
He acts like he didn’t party. I saw them in 1985 and he (Don Dokken) was so wasted he was slurring, forgetting words and stumbling. The band was great - tight and rockin. I can’t stand it when people won’t take responsibility for themselves and blame everyone else.
Good album, horrible mix IMO. You can barely hear the bass-end, and the rest sounds like it was recorded in a tunnel. Under Lock & Key sounded so much better. Wish they had done an album with Bob Rock.
Tooth And Nail, Piece Of Mind, Screaming For Vengeance, The Mob Rules...these albums helped get me through high school. I miss the 80's.

That shits hilarious, them editing 😆
Nothing will ever beat the party that was LA in the 80's !
George got the best of him.
I thought I heard that too.
Don is a ty fighter.
george was a passive aggressive douche back in the day
@@Mad_Axe_Man125 I had heard from a few they worked and knew them that George was difficult to work with at times.
@@markdraine3571 I loved Kingdom Come! Jk Mark, I do get your point though.
That's sad about all the drugs. Well, I was a Dokken fan when I was a kid. I remember everybody buying Tooth And Nail. It was because the girls loved Along Again. It was usually the girls who bought albums back then.
One thing about Mick in the drums and just walking away from the band like that is that he loved it he loved it and he knew that if he hung around and talked with everybody and everything it would stir him up and he'd want to go do it and if he did it, he'd hurt himself even worse. it's like an addict finally figuring out how you got to quit. that's just you got to hate it and you got to not like anything that comes with it at all and and playing the drums like that it becomes part of you
I love how Don sounds like Charlie Sheen when he talks.
Ha! So true. Charlie needs to play him 😂
The title should read Don "Holllier than Thou" on everyone ELSE''s drug use.
I love that picture of Jeff sorry I mean Geoff.
Lynch was an absolute assassin on this record.
Remember seeing dokken at the Palladium with Keel Odin. And saw them again at magic mountain back in 85
Palladium was a great venue, saw armored Saint, mettalica and savatage.
Them editing the guys voice is so rock-'n'-roll, and that ain't Don Dokken,it's a wonder him and Lynch made ONE record, rock-'n'-roll is immature parting having fun sometimes and George and the band brought it on their instruments, George and Don- the odd couple
On the full interview u should have asked him what it was like doing dream warriors! That is still my favourite Dokken track of all time lol..idunno y but I’ve loved that song n video ever since I was a kid..I’m a huge horror fan that’s prob y
I will next time.
I had all there albums
8:39 totally fantastic
I'd watched them opening for the AEROSMITH permanent vacation on January the 25th in 1988.
Only one problem. Just watching DOKKEN as AEROSMITH started drug rehab!
In my dreams. 1st song i ever public air banded to in school. Won 1st place!! Years later. I would be in a band of my own. With much shorter hair. I might add.
Don being Don
I bought the record all of them
I got a hold of them somehow, lol, cant say I "bought" em all, I think I might have lifted a couple of cassettes off of my older brother. I can say I remember buying "back for the attack" myself with allowance money at 7 or 8. DREAM WARRIORS was the begining and the end for me, combining George Lynch with Freddy Kruger, epic!
Ya T. Aldridge is a monster...
Not sure if anyone else noticed Don bares a striking resemblance to Little Lad
seems to me Donscalling the kettle black.......Under Lock in Key on tour with Lover Boy....Rick Sales and Donny Boy hahaha
The last time I saw Nugent Mick was playing skins.
Don said Neil Peart retired because his body was worn out, but wasn’t because he had brain cancer?
No, Neil Peart didn’t have symptoms of brain cancer or get diagnosed with it until months after he retired
Tommy Aldridge is a beast!
🤟🏻 🌟 🤟
It's hard to make it in Rock-N-Roll when you're about as anti- rock-n-roll as can be. Don was a snooty, party hating singer who was a boring stage presence. Great voice, but no personality or charisma. He almost sounds like an 8th grade snitch telling on the other 3 in this interview.
Yes
Don sounds like he smokes a carton per day
@@davebasch5995
I think he's had some throat surgery, trouble.
I've always loved glam bands. I'm 42 and when I saw the records when I was a kid, the bands looked like trashy super heros. Album covers like Leather Boyz with electric toys and trixter.
Damn... Don "bus driver" dokken
AMAZING ALBUM. GEORGE'S BEST
What he said about Mick Brown makes me appreciate what Charlie Watts did even more.
Neil Peart said that he could play like Charlie Watts until he was 80 but he couldn't play like Neil Peart until he was 80.
What's with all these drug use videos ?
...But! It´s a great album!
I saw Mick play with Ted Nugent Columbus Ohio his brother is just as awesome
Who got the best ??
-Not gonna answer that 😆
I'm still pissing the neighbors off with Tooth and Nail almost 40 years since I bought it on CD.
coke? try speed lolol
37?!
