Thanks Brun for taking us along as you discover and detect that lovely old ruin.At places like that you can really feel the history.Congrats on the finds- that brooch type thing is a cool find.Cheers and take care.
Thanks for watching, the brooch thingy is a locket, another person identified it as a locket and showed me a pic. I’ll be going back to dig more ferrous items, and hoping some non ferrous also😀
Hi, I found out that it’s a locket which holds photo in and its worn as a necklace locket, it’s the top piece and cleaned it up nicely. 😀the whole ruin is just beautiful
@@louiseprior3129 hi Louiseprior😀 the gaiters are from Miners Den in Aus. They are about $120 and I love how they fit and feel. Here’s a short vid about them I did a while back. Safety first always 😀🙏ua-cam.com/video/XqCrVfVgrks/v-deo.htmlsi=UaJan_jG3qwVIBAV
Great video Brun, I’m glad you left a comment on my magpie video, otherwise I wouldn’t have found your channel, I also noticed a few familiar people in the comments, like Gary and Cynthia, Cynthia has been supporting my channel since I first started, looking forward to checking out your other videos when I’m free, currently on my lunch break lol, take care Jim 👍

G'day brun..What a beautiful old ruin.. the fireplace was amazing... l often wonder too about hidden spots in walls. My pa had a hidi-hole in the kitchen fire place chimney. You never know hey. Such stunning views. I heard the sexy frog saying G'day. I uploaded our noisy buggers.. takecare..🌼
It's a great place. It was once a house with a dog. The brooch suggests that a woman lived there. It's been a very pleasant trip. Thank you. By the way, you're so organized, I'm impressed.
Thanks, it must have been a happy home too, because it has such a nice vibe and doesn’t feel spooky or weird😀and I like it a lot, will go back to do another area soon.
Apart from all your wonderful commentary on the artifacts and of course the views, That occasional underscore of the frog in the well croaking away in the background. The sound scape atmosphere was inspiring. Paul
Great ruin - loved the wood above the fireplace. Interested to see how far back dog rego goes in South Australia. Looks to be a top spot for a return visit in cooler weather.
Hi Brun Hi J! Beautiful area to be detecting. We can see from that view why the person way back when built there. If that chimney could talk! So happy to see the kangaroos! Great info, tips, and precautions for snake protection. Great finds as always! We are looking forward to more videos of this permission site, and more kangaroos please! LOL
That was awesome Brun!!!!!!! That old ruin is so cool, and the scenery is breathtaking!!! I can't imagine seeing kangaroos in the wild like that😳are they ever aggressive? Witchity grub? So cool, thank you ladies 👍👍
Hi Mona😀kangaroos aren’t aggressive they hop away. They are lovely and majestic to watch when they hop away as it’s graceful and fast they are inquisitive and sometimes watch from a distance. Whichetty grub is just a slang term Aussies use for a grub moth larvae in the ground that has that appearance.
Like your being proactive with the shin guards. Wearing a broad brimmed hat to protect your ears and neck from the harsh sun. Enjoyed the artifact hunt. Looking forward for more history on the settlers who lived there.😊
Hey there Brun! Ended up here via all of the wonderful folks on the alaska homestead channels. You had me as soon as I saw metal detecting! That would be dangerous but fun for me as I love to restore old stuff!👍
Awesome video! That's crazy that you have to wear gators because of the snakes. We are lucky here where I live. There are almost no venomous snakes and you're not likely to see one. Never mind having to worry about tramping on them in your adventures.
I do see them and they are big, I’m not scared of snakes but spiders freak me out. Sometimes when I dig a hole there’ll be a spider and I’m like super freaked. But it’s not often😀 the gaiters are a huge safety thing, but all the protection is hot and hard to wear on a summers day but better than a bite and hospitals are far away. 😀it’s great adventure fun😀
Hi there, thanks I hope so too, the gold is mainly in Western Australia and Victoria, I’ll head that way one day😀 for now it’s historical ruins and such, and a lot of fun. Lancashire would have loads of history to dig up I’m thinking, but the wet n windy would be tough going😀stay warm,Brun
Could that chain been used to pull that tree down?! I mean that tree has been laying there for a long time and the chain as well. Maybe it broke off and in the businesses of trying to pull the tree down it was forgotten. Even the end there looks like it was wrapped around with something or even hooked to something.

That ruin is gorgeous, the fireplace is amazing. Many historic clues are hidden in old iron! The brooch piece is lovely. Fun day out, Brun!❤

The SA dog act commenced in 1884 and dog owners had to register their dogs with local councils of their district. It is a great location and ruin 😀
