hey ziostorm i like your videos and they are interesting to watch, but i want to ask can i share a theory with you, this has no evidence to back up any claims but i saw a few theories and i made a theory of my own, and was wondering would you like to here this theory.
Hello Zio Two things that I noticed playing Elden Ring this week. 1) In the cave at Moonlight Altar, when you give Rannie the Dark moon ring, she sits infront /ontop of an envoy of two or three fingers covered in blood. That same envoy is a boss in the DLC. Have a look. Also, the scar looks very recognisable. 2)I did a complete sweep of the Royal capital. I found small buildings with doors sealed with what looks like root ressin or tree ressin. At first I thought it was gold but when you look closer it is definitely ressin.
No ones fully put this together yet but im pretty sure were playing as one of Merikas unfit Demigod children with the soul of a tarnished. The mausoleums are home to some of merikas children who were unfit, so she used one as a vessal to bring a tarnished back with devastating power. When grace returns to you, you can hear that you are, in fact, inside a mausoleum. I believe god hood was started as rebenge that soon became her prison. In the end Merika wasnt happy with her world, nor her children who she chose, so she decided to let one of her discarded offspring judge her and all other demigods and bring about a new order. Edit: DLC provides further evidence. "Thoust tarnished IT SEEMTH" we seem like a tarnished. Further evidence: moghs body used for consort radahn and him still resembling radahn. That's why he says "it seemith", we look tarnished but there seems to be to us. We are the opposite of radahn. He was favored, while we were discarded. He refuses lordship, while we embrace it.
Trying out many ways to carry the chair. Tried out dragging it by the top, but realize it would damage the legs or get it dirty. Truly moving day was a frustrating endeavor
@@eurologicIgon is goat, but Ansbach is a cool guy as well. If you caught up, he was chill with you despite killing Mohg and was like "it is what it is" and then rooted for you to become Elden lord.
The reason why that Miquela-Messmer dialogue was cut is probably because Miquella plans to get rid of Marika's Golden Order, and Messmer is dead loyal to Marika (even though he curses her in the end). Those two would probably be sworn enemies, I dont see them having a normal conversation.
It reminds me of people moving their head like crazy when that one song was played, "in new york I millie rock ya, hiding in my sock ya" or something like that. It was so random in my head
Im surprised not many people are talking about how similar the Scadutree Avatars head is to Goldmasks mask! The dots at the center are definitely evocative of eachother imo even if they aren’t 1 to 1
I was looking into this trying to see if goldmask’s matches any constellations the way the avatar does, but unfortunately it doesn’t. I wonder if there’s another order to the dots in his
@@Ziostorm I wonder what the correlation could be if there is any. I think we need to seriously look at Sun imagery in the dlc because there is a surprising amount of it that links back to the main tarnished in base game. Dungeaters sun looks very similar to the Furnace Visage that reads “A stone mask surrounded by curled horns, depicting the fell god of fire that haunts the sagas of the hornsent.” Both Goldmask and Dungeaters armor state that they took inspiration from someone or something that inspired/ guided them and both are reminiscent of a Sun design. Perhaps the scadutree avatar was gold masks inspiration? Maybe when it was less withered and more radiant. And perhaps the same could be postulated of the Dungeater and the fellgod? Thats the best i could think of at least.
@@dylanworth8038tbh I was really looking forward to seeing wtf the furnace visage was originally when I first saw it in the trailer bc it looked so much like dung eaters medallion thing. I wanted it to be the same!
@@AllCloudsAreBunnies i think there could be a correlation still even if one is never out right said! Dung eaters sword (the part we can see imbedded in the spine) is color coded almost exactly like Messmers black knights (black and gold)! So who knows, maybe there is a link (or also maybe not lol)
Miquella cast off his eye, _singular_ . When you talk to Ansbach about it after you find the location of the eye, Ansbach also talks about Miquella's "eye", not "eyes".
@@Somethingsomethingyoutube If you're implying that Miquella had something to do with the frenzy in the abyssal woods, that was almost certainly because of Midra and Nanaya. Since frenzy affects and comes from the eyes, you could say that Miquella was protecting himself. But anything beyond that would be wild talk.
I think tbh the NG+ on the DLC is just to make up for the fact most people are starting the DLC for the second time with at least 10-15 scadutree blessings and probably 7 or 8 spirit ash blessings. The start of the DLC is noticeably easier and ramps up, this just seems to be flattening out the DLC so it's all one difficulty in subsequent playthroughs.
About that first one, Messmer would probably know what a tarnished is, we know that he was around long enough to be a mentor to radahn, which means he probably would have been around long enough to see the banishment of Godfrey.
I think that makes sense but he seems to also know that you are at least in line to become Elden Lord and it's not clear how he would have that information. By the time you reach him, you aren't just a tarnished, you are *the* tarnished. Both Starscourge Radhan and Mohg are shard bearers so you would have been given the Two Fingers approval to become Elden Lord by the time you meet Messmer. But how would he know any of that unless someone told him.
@@Cman04092 eh, but it’s literally impossible miquella entered and Messmer or at least his knights didn’t know, so i feel like Messmer knew about tarnished cuz he was around back then and then knew about us trying to become lord with his mother’s permission because of Miquella telling him. That would explain why he seems so weary and doubtful of marika now even in his loyalty, because miquella told him marika’s order to become a lord or a god, and that she was going back on the idea that grace was necessary for the sake of her plan. That would be a big betrayal since she made him commit genocide for that whole idea.
@@Cman04092 Maybe but that's not a power we've seen anyone have as far as I'm aware. I feel like the occam's razor explanation is that Miquella told him since we know he did pass through the Shadow Keep.
@@stephanie_jjb Morgott and Mohg weren't born until after the Crusade. The Omen curse was cast by Grandam as vengeance against Marika. Godwyn is much older than his Omen brothers.

@@viljamtheninja DLC+ primarily affects the early parts of the DLC. Essentially every single enemy in the dlc has a hidden Shadow Blessing level. DLC+ sets the level of all enemies to 20. It's essentially implemented as a counter to the new progression system. A new progression system necessitates a new NG+ modifier after all.
“Miquella spoke of thee” With this line cut, his dialogue is more of a heartbreak. As the realization that you are tarnished, AND favored by his mother = it means that marika left him forever - abandoned and probably didnt cared for him at all
Ohhhhhhh... The DLC+ makes a lot of sense... I finished the DLC on NG+ 7. Going through again on NG+ 8 I'm getting literally 1 shot, even though there shouldn't be any change between NG+7 & 8... That's fun.
They added a chair to Rellanas arena? With the next update, they are finally gonna add a cutscene to make her say "A corpse should be well left alone" at the start of the fight.
Have you noticed that Godrick's right leg is wearing the Veteran's armor set? That's Commander Niall's set and Niall is missing his right leg. Niall can also summon Banished Knights which are primarily found in Stormveil. Maybe some kind of deal happened?
Game text says Niall traded his prosthesis for the lives of his captured men, presumably to Godrick while fighting for control of Stormveil. Which is weird, shouldn't it say he traded his leg? He still has a prosthesis when we fight him...
It means to say that he sacrificed his leg (traded it for a prosthesis) in exchange for getting his men back from Godrick. Little creep wanted his leg so he could use Storm arts.
Idk bout that one, empyrean blood burgeon item says "Said to burgeon forth from where the golden blood of Miquella, the wounded Empyrean, pooled". So I'm thinking ansbach actually did manage to cut him open
A cross does mention miquella discarding his sinistral (meaning left) arm, so it raises a few questions about that fight with ansbach. Tho the fact that the withered arm and the missing arm are both sinistral may hide a deeper meaning
oh! this sparked a thought, assuming miquella IS in the cocoon... I wonder then if the cocoon is acting like a spiritual cockpit for miquella as he walks the shadowlands? since his arm is hanging out of the cocoon, that may explain why it fades into nothing in the shadowlands??
Not really relevant but they should add a place where you can refight any boss, like a hall of gods from Hollow Knight. They should make the boss scale with the player’s level as well so that it doesn’t get stupidly easy the longer you play with the same character
I think the only way to make it scale would be by NG+ levels. The bosses themselves only scale differently through this, as they don’t scale independently just based on your level alone. Maybe it can be a difficulty option that you select a boss, then select a NG+ level.
I feel as if they removed the context of miquella directly telling messmer, as a way to help hide the fact that they were the villain of the dlc, which by this point many would of figured out but just for the few that hadn’t
The DLC+ mode actually makes a lot of sense. If you re-enter the DLC area in an NG+ cycle, you won't have to farm Scadutree Fragments, similarly to how you don't need to farm any Golden Seeds, Bell Bearings, etc in base NG+. However since Scadutree Fragments have such a huge effect on gameplay, it makes sense that earlier DLC bosses should be boosted to remain challenging.
I've personally taken Miquella's missing arm as his ascension was incomplete/interrupted. He's "regained" most of his discarded body so it being incomplete could be a hint that he hadn't reached full divinity yet.
This is most likely the correct answer. I remember they patched Morogott's sword animation just because having flames around the Erdtree is a no no and he's loyal to the Golden Order.
I don't know about that, as Messmer's main gripe with you is that you are bereft of Light, and he's aware you are Marika's chosen champion as he challenges you. He disobeys Marika before his death, if not by fighting you then by removing the seal of Grace restraining the abyssal serpent. Miquella has Light in abundance, so he'd probably be fine with Miquella as God and Radahn as Lord. But he's too steeped in self-loathing and a sort of internalised dark-phobia to accept a Tarnished as Lord, even if it seems to be what Marika wants.
@@LuciferLuckless yeah but by that logic he would not support miquella if he knew that he was trying to overthrow the golden order, thats why he attacks us bc hes stuck and set in his ways all thr way to his death, despite knowing its what his mother wants. He could not accept that everything he stood for and sacrificed for her was all tossed away in vain at the very end
Miquella cast off his 'arm sinistral' which means his left arm specifically. His eyelids are closed so we can't see if his discarded eye is singular. Seems like his left arm is missing because he divested himself of it
it basically says he got rid of everything on his body including a lot of his flesh, eyes, arms, etc and we see all of that on miquella so I don't know if that's the case tbh. The only thing missing that we can even see is his left arm, yes, but I have an idea that this was before he entered the realm of shadows. Maybe the arm he's missing is the one that we see in the cocoon?
The reason Messmer meeting Miquella doesn't make much sense is because if he had why do we need to be the one to burn the shadow thorns? Miquella could have just charmed Messmer to do it for him, so I think maybe the flow of objectives was different before that Messmer line was cut
01:36 I'm pretty sure it was cut out is because it wouldn't make sense narratively. Messmer's kindling is needed to burn the thorns to Enir-Elym and that's Miquella's whole goal (reaching the Gate of Divinity) just either Messmer would be killed by Miquella by then OR get charmed by Miquella and burn the tree for Miquella's sake. It just makes sense if they never met and Miquella simply traversed Shadow Keep to rush over to the Ancient Ruins of Rauh
Completed the DLC recently and I loved it. I thought the story and the characters, except for my queen Ranni, were told so much better than in the base game. Loved the fights with Rellana and Messmer too.
6:56 I thought that the details on the Scadutree Avatar's face were not just pointing out to a constellation but mainly a reference to Van Gogh's Starry Night painting. Was it just me?
Wow! The thing about the chair blew my mind, although I didn't notice that it was added to the arena at the point of watching. But the meaning behind is kind of sad or melancholic, and definitely give Rellana more story which she can absolutely use. Still sad about no voice lines or cinmeatic for Rellana
The whole "frenzy flame kills spirits" thing has to be limited to the Land of Shadow specifically. Otherwise why would Torrent travel with you through so many areas where Frenzy is found?
It probably wasn't Ansbach, as otherwise Miquella would not have had a left arm to discard. However, he also discards his dextral arm, so that isn't why he's missing the one arm during the final boss fight.
I'll never actually do the Rellana cheese because I love the fight, but it is pretty damn hilarious. Brings me back to cheesing the Capra Demon with mud pies.
I think that line is less about establishing a connection between Miquella and Messmer and more about establishing a connection with Miquella and us. We know Miquella came to Shadow Keep, and we absolutely know he went to the base of the Scadu tree. It's unlikely that they wouldn't have talked, but we don't know what about or if Messmer even helped him. At most that line might imply that Messmer was convinced not to give us his ember willingly. But it more likely that Miquella actually needed that ember otherwise Leda wouldn't be looking for it. However the weirder thing in game his how contingent Miquella's plan is on us killing Mohg and Radahn. It's unclear is the thorns on Enir Ilim blocked Miquella as well, but given that Leda is tasked with clearing them, and it seems we are right on Miquella's toes the entire time, then yes, Miquella is expecting his charmed followers to assist his rise in divinity. But does that include us? The line calls us out specifically, it wouldn't apply to Leda or Hornsent. So the question is, does Miquella expect us to be the one leading the charge as the strongest prospective Lord of the old age, inspire of the fact that he knows we aren't easily charmed, or is he trying to roadblock us from interfering? As people have stated, it's weird that we never actually talk to Miquella. While his journey is meant to mirror Marika, his reliance on our input and his lacking a body is very similar to Melina, and I think a lot of people expected that kind of interaction during the DLC. So this acknowledgement is kinda sorely needed.
No spoilers, but I'm surprised nobody's brought up the stars that literally guide you after a certain NPC says "may the stars guide you". The ones that blink in a line one at a time, left to right? I thought it was a cool touch.
6:55 the erdtree avatars spawned during the shattering, im almost certain the scadutree avatar is the same, miquella’s rune was like a mini “shattering”
The Messmer and Miquella relation is REALLY interesting, his cross in Shadowkeep liteally says he abandoned his right arm there. Right arm meaning maybe a "reliable helper"? 1:30
I had really hoped that there would be less cut content then the base game. And in fact, there are less cut content, but a lot of them feels really important.
Miquella telling Messmer about the Tarnished would actually help clear up Messmer's placement in the timeline. The fact that he knows about us at all implies his banishment took place after Marika kicked Godfrey out - quite late considering the lack of any mention of Messmer in the base game. If he learned about it all secondhand then that opens things up a bit.
I honestly dont get why ppl think rellana is tough, besides using patterns we have seen before she is just like very other humanoid npc, meaning she gets staggered by hyperarmor strings. poisebreak flask with blacksteel hammer and she got demolished.
Ansbach cutting off Miquella's arm reminds me of Griffith cutting off Zodd's arm when they first met. The same way Ansbach thought he could challenge an Empyrean, Griffith thought he could challenge an Apostle. Of course, don't read too much into it other than the apparent similarity...
Can you imagine a hollow knight pantheon like mode in this game that includes all major and mini bosses? They could have restrictions (like bindings) that you can activate like no FP, double stamina consumption, no talisman effects, or only using a certain weapon class. It would force you to get creative with your builds to overcome the restrictions and would not only force you to get good at dodging, but also to familiarize yourself with the games incredibly complex mechanics. One can only dream...
That's it! Why does Fromsoft not do it? I hope a huge update, like colosseum's, but with a boss-rush mode. I know it's practically impossible to happen, but I want to believe.
@Minion-qk7er its OK to believe brother. As a hollow knight fan, a healthy dose of copium is part of my morning routine (team cherry please release silksong)
Anyone realise how Radahn was a massive Godfrey fanboi and (I'm not 100% on this) he probably only knew Godfrey with Serosh on his back. Then when we fight Radahn in the DLC and Miquella joins him it looks like an homage to Godfrey and Serosh with the hair or "mane" flowing down his back. I like to think it is
I think they cut it so you wouldn't know that Miquellester was against you. The fact he's a sinister, Machiavellian mind-killing manipulator would have been completely given away at that point (if it weren't already). Also, I still want a final DLC to tie up all the loose ends in the story: - Godwyn's full defeat, true death, or an explicit end of the spread of deathroot/blight. - Properly address the Gloam-eyed Queen's lore. Possibly have Melina reborn fully as the GEQ. - Explain what the Greater Will's plan for TLB was. Maybe even have it send a new avatar like the Elden Beast, so that we can either get rid of it, or join it. - More details of the Lands Beyond the Fog
I've heard so many great lore theories but I still don't think Melina is the GEQ, nor do I think that would be the best option narratively. Maybe I'm totally wrong but I think the GEQ is her own character entirely, existing in a time before Melina (or when she was little) and would have a full rich story to tell of her own motivations and how she clashed with Markia. Hopefully we see more about the GEQ in the Elden Ring movie if that is still a thing. Definitely one of the more interesting characters in the IP.
Always thought miquella's missing arm is due to the arm that hangs outside of the cocoon a part of him left behind for his followers to enter the land shadow through him.
That first one is actually massive lore wise as everyone has been using Messmer knowing of the tarnished as evidence he was later in the timeline I.e. post Godfrey
On messmers cut dialog, it fits with what I assumed happend tho slightly diffrent. I would assume Messmer was if anything only fimular with Radan by name if anything through commander Gaius. I don't think Marika was in much contact with Messmer to give him happy family updates. I believe miquella did go there and met Messmer. I feel like this would undoubtedly anger Messmer and reveal alot to him about his mother. I can see Messmer getting a bit angry at Miquella. Unfortunately Messmer isn't aware Miquella can simply charm people. He most likely charmed Messmer and went on his way without a fight.
that explains why it felt significantly more difficult going from ng+1 to ng+2 in the dlc. i thought it was just the ng modifier but that actually makes sense why the damage was sometimes ridiculous.
Hornsent has a line that was in the trailer after the charm has been broken: “Go to the misshapen tree of umbra. In that forsaken place, blood must spill - the blood of your fellows, the Erdtree faithful.” What in the hell is he talking about?
Go to the Scadutree. The blood of those loyal to the Erdtree must be spilled. He's pretty much just telling you to go to Shadow Keep and kill Messmer and his soldiers, who are loyal to the Erdtree.
8:48 I'm actually fairly certain the spirit eels being vulnerable to madness ISN'T a glitch. The only other entities susceptible are all player-like characters, built with a very specific template. Someone would have to go out of their way to add a Madness status bar to anything that isn't player-like. Seeing as there's a valid lore reasoning for these guys, what probably happened was they finished rounding out that part of the lore later into the development cycle and the worms were developed with it in mind while the jellyfish were not. If they did do anything, I'd expect them to change it so jellyfish were also weak to it. Edit: and of course Torrent being unsummonable in the Abyssal Woods is another example of the frenzied flame consuming spirits affecting gameplay. They've set a precedent for this exact thing.
You've got it backwards. Everything is inherently vulnerable to every status buildup, and you have to go out of your way to add a status to them to make them immune to a status buildup. Enemies almost universally have the "immune to madness" and "immune to deathblight" status applied. Seems they just forgot to add the madness immunity this time. Happens every so often.
I'm so convinced that Messmer and Melina are the children of Radagon and the GEQ. I think that was the seduction and betrayal from the trailer. I think they basically did the same thing to rennala
I saw someone on twitter point out how it seems st trina is being cradled by an arm that she is snuggling into and they theorised that was miquella's left arm that he left with her so he'd always partially be with her
Ansbach cutting Miquella open is interesting because we only ever see Miquella's arm in the cocoon, and suspiciously he is missing one arm even in the realm of shadow. I know an entire model is hidden within the cocoon but maybe in the canon (since we're not supposed to see the entire body) the "withered arm" we touch is just that, Miquella's withered arm that's been severed (by Ansbach?)
Similarly when Isshin's arm is pushed up through Genichiro's neck his entire model is there, but bent and hidden out of view. Same with Manus when he grabs us to access the DLC in DS1
Saint of the Bud is my favorite boss visially in probably EVERY Fromsoft game and im very sad and lightly mad that their is no cutscene, no diolouge, and like one paragraph of lore
I feel like one important thing that needs to be mentioned is that Miquella is also missing an arm in the intro when he's being carried off by mohg. Perhaps Sir Ansbach struck at Miquella to make it easier for Mohg to take him away? At least from his own perspective as we later learn Miquella wanted Mohg to take him
That's what's in the cocoon. That's how Miquella can walk around the Shadowlands, discarding bodyparts, while another body is in the cocoon. It's just his hand. The body in the cocoon is grown from a hand and fed Tarnished blood, used by Miquella as some sort of a retranslator, a gigantic sacramental bud/bewitching branch.
The DLC+ difficulty spike makes a lot of sense. It doesn’t punish players for being NG+ in the base game who didn’t want to start a new save file. And it gives a greater challenge to those wanting to play the DLC again
A cool thing about Rellana's twin swords is that you can choose which sword to use when using them on one hand only. If you equip it on your left you'll get the fire one, if you equip it on your right then you get the magic sword. The cool thing about this is that it lets you powerstance a combo of your own making with an infused Milady. You can go Fire + Bleeding or maybe Magic + Cold and still get access to the awesome unique ash of war.
One odd thing I noticed about the Erdtree Avatars in Lands Between, is that each could, in theory, represent the children of Marika who still have their bodies functioning (Mohg, Morgott, Melina, Malenia, Radahn, Rykard and Messmer - 7 bodily-functioning children to 7 Erdtree Avatars), accounting for that Godwyn's spirit was murdered and Ranni rid herself of her body, and Miquella has his Scadutree Avatar in his place. Rykard didn't sever his connection between his spirit and body by being engulfed by the God-Devouring Serpent. Not that it affect things much but still odd thing to notice. Killing the avatars doesn't affect the children of Marika but the condition of the children affect the avatars.
Fun Fact: the spirit summon Florisax uses dragon claw with red lightning effects to it. I don't believe there is a way for the player to recreate this so she alone has this neat little change
this dlc was so incredible, the verticality and interconnectedness of the map reminded me of ds1 - now we just need some funky lava level and a lake at the bottom of a hollow tree and I'll be truly impressed
Wait! Is the arm sticking out of that cocoon the missing arm of Miquela's ghost form? Could it be that Ansbach cut the cocoon open, causing Miquela's arm to lose its connection to the shadow realm? Because it is now hanging out of the cocoon
If you notice Messmer's Abyssal Serpent doesn't have normal eyes, but it has multiple small red eyes located across all his body, even inside it's mouth. It even has multiple groups of fangs in the mouth. It's design is something touching horror chords
It is indeed weird that even if Miquella said that he abandoned his arm dextral (right), it still appeared in his god from but not his arm sinistral (left).
Ah yes a chair, totally makes up for the fact that they couldn't be bothered to give this super important boss character an intro cutscene. Thanks fromsoftware.
The mequila line can be cut so that player would speculate for mequila cross to be found so deep inside messmer's castle should imply at least, that they are on somewhat of a good term for Messmer to allow miq to wander around I guess, so it just fromsoft trying to obscure things and left us clues.
I expect miquella hung out with messemer while researching the ritual. I think as a spirit he didn't need to burn the seal to go in and summon his brothers corpse.
I think that the missing arm of Miquella is the one present in moghwins palace where we fight mohg. Maybe ansbach cut was the one that cut it so it was no longer affected by miquellas birth curse and began to age and deteriorate
I believe it specifically mentioned his "arm sinistral" which, by definition, "of or on the left side or the left hand." He gave up his left arm, but I can't imagine how he still has "flesh" as a god but his arm remains missing.
I'm seeing a lot of people in the comments forgetting that he also gave up his dextral arm. So that can't be why he's missing an arm in the final boss fight.
About the Miquella spoke of thee thing, in my opinion it's basically canon and Miyazaki is just being too criptic as usual, because we find the broken rune of Miquella at the base of the Scadutree, which is only accessible through the Shadow Keep, and the entrance is sealed with water when we arrive, but we can't arrive without the rune being broken, so it's a very recent thing
In the Constellation of the Pleiades, one of the stars, that represented seven sisters, Helektra, disappeared out of shame because her consort was mortal, might be related to the fact that Miquella is immortal but Radahn is not
I think the reason why that particular line got cut from Messmer's dialogue is that if those two met, Miquella probably would've bewitched him, making him unable to break his eye seal, which would then lead to him never being able to have that second phase transition. Maybe I'm just assuming too much though

Hello Zio
Two things that I noticed playing Elden Ring this week.
1) In the cave at Moonlight Altar, when you give Rannie the Dark moon ring, she sits infront /ontop of an envoy of two or three fingers covered in blood. That same envoy is a boss in the DLC. Have a look. Also, the scar looks very recognisable.

Miquella cast off his eye, _singular_ . When you talk to Ansbach about it after you find the location of the eye, Ansbach also talks about Miquella's "eye", not "eyes".
All Empyreans really only have one eye, huh
My thing is this, what body is being discarded if his body is in moghs palace? Seems like he’s already got rid of his body to me

I think tbh the NG+ on the DLC is just to make up for the fact most people are starting the DLC for the second time with at least 10-15 scadutree blessings and probably 7 or 8 spirit ash blessings. The start of the DLC is noticeably easier and ramps up, this just seems to be flattening out the DLC so it's all one difficulty in subsequent playthroughs.
yea i think ur right, i just restarted the dlc in ng+ n already had 16 blessings, divine beast was pretty much just as hard as first time
Exactly, but this should be done for the base game ng+ aswell in my opinion, because the starting ng+ bosses are a joke in every game
@Driftwood-ML my guess is he has a special 6th sense as a demigod that let's him detect the great runes we carry, or the blessing bestowed upon us.

No that part doesn't matter. DLC+ doesn't activate until you have both beaten Radahn and you decide to enter NG+ AFTER beating Radahn.
@@fili0938 Thank you for clarifying that, because I had the same misunderstanding as OP.
@@fili0938dlc is activated by beating radahn and mohg and only that.
Or beat Radahn first if the DLC isn't hard enough for you
“Miquella spoke of thee”
With this line cut, his dialogue is more of a heartbreak.
That's fun.
Sir Ansbach the GOAT 🗣️🗣️🔥🔥🔥
One of the reason why I made the fight harder for my self beat part of the fight.
I feel the "sir ansbach cutting Miquella open" refers to the cocoon split open
Interesting idea

Another cross mentions him discarding his dextral (right) arm as well though, so he should be missing two arms or neither.
@@LuciferLuckless yes that's why i mentioned the sinistral arm but both arms are mentioned and that's why the theory is dubious to me
Not really relevant but they should add a place where you can refight any boss, like a hall of gods from Hollow Knight. They should make the boss scale with the player’s level as well so that it doesn’t get stupidly easy the longer you play with the same character
Im such a simp id even pay money for that in a dlc
MIYAZAKI!! GIVE ME A BOSS RUSH MODE IN ELDEN RING, AND MY LIFE IS YOURS!!!!
@care_lezzDoesn’t really work for console though.
Messmer would not accept miquella's new order, as he still upholds the golden order even up to his dying breath when he finally curses his own mother
This is most likely the correct answer.
I remember they patched Morogott's sword animation just because having flames around the Erdtree is a no no and he's loyal to the Golden Order.
Still is weird he would let miquella enter his fortress and leave like nothing.
Seems like his left arm is missing because he divested himself of it
He also discards his dextral arm, though. Pretty sure he even mentions that in the video.
Maybe he divested himself of his arm sinistral after Ansbach cut it? Maybe something to do with cursed blood interfering with his rise to divinity?
it basically says he got rid of everything on his body including a lot of his flesh, eyes, arms, etc and we see all of that on miquella so I don't know if that's the case tbh.
The dot eyes on the avatar are just the golden ratio angle which is present in many plants. Botanist here.
The rellana powerstance moveset change is really significant bc gaining block means it can be used with the deflect tear
When the first discovery is cut content, you know you're running out of discoveries lol
Was it just me?
ansbach is for sure one of the best npcs in from soft history, he has so much character and progression in his story, Igon is also amazing of course.
4 best games of the decade in no order - Elden ring, ds3, bloodborne, cyberpunk 2077
5:54 - Ansbach didn't do that: Miquela discarded his arm inside of the Hornsent tower. Ansbach even comments about it if you tell him
It probably wasn't Ansbach, as otherwise Miquella would not have had a left arm to discard. However, he also discards his dextral arm, so that isn't why he's missing the one arm during the final boss fight.
I'll never actually do the Rellana cheese because I love the fight, but it is pretty damn hilarious. Brings me back to cheesing the Capra Demon with mud pies.
Capra Demon absolutely deserves it.
What do you mean?
I’m also curious wtf do you mean 😅
Rellana being in the Shadow Realm, and Messmer knowing Radahn still mean that the crusade started well after the Liurnian Wars
That would be amazing. Hollow Knight's Pantheon is the very best boos rush ever made.
That's it! Why does Fromsoft not do it? I hope a huge update, like colosseum's, but with a boss-rush mode. I know it's practically impossible to happen, but I want to believe.

I like to think it is
I my second play through he actually mentions miquella
I think they cut it so you wouldn't know that Miquellester was against you. The fact he's a sinister, Machiavellian mind-killing manipulator would have been completely given away at that point (if it weren't already).
Also, I still want a final DLC to tie up all the loose ends in the story:
- Godwyn's full defeat, true death, or an explicit end of the spread of deathroot/blight.
The greater will does not card about the world anymore
We should be able to visit the shadow tree. No lore about it in the dlc

Ansbach is what all people should be but sadly so rare to find. Smart, logical, compassionate, understanding and a man of honor.
that explains why it felt significantly more difficult going from ng+1 to ng+2 in the dlc. i thought it was just the ng modifier but that actually makes sense why the damage was sometimes ridiculous.
Hornsent has a line that was in the trailer after the charm has been broken:
“Go to the misshapen tree of umbra. In that forsaken place, blood must spill - the blood of your fellows, the Erdtree faithful.”
What in the hell is he talking about?
I think the missing arm is the withered arm we touch to enter the land of shadow
I'm so convinced that Messmer and Melina are the children of Radagon and the GEQ. I think that was the seduction and betrayal from the trailer. I think they basically did the same thing to rennala
I am a simple man.. Zionstorm uploads and I go watch.
Bro I met Ansbach and redmane Freyja like, twice in the entire game, tf they go?
5:49 in the pre launch trailer, it now seems miquella was holding his arm, maybe by this reason!
George R Martin wrote the amazing story Miyazaki decided not to tell. Peak Fromsoft storytelling at its "finest"
I saw someone on twitter point out how it seems st trina is being cradled by an arm that she is snuggling into and they theorised that was miquella's left arm that he left with her so he'd always partially be with her
I honestly can't believe that once again we start the game on easy mode. First Sekiro now Elden Ring's DLC. Miyazaki is such a madman
12:45 The furnace golems are definitely stronger in NG+. 🤦🏾♂️
Miquellas Arm is still in the Lands Between, hanging outside of that cocoon ?!?
You push your deepest all the time with the begining it never stops to be funny continue like this!
One’s a left arm, one’s a right.
Like the guy above said, he's missing his left arm, and it's the right arm sticking out of the cocoon.
Nope if you look into the egg with hacks you can find a full body of Morgott who has both hands so no.

The mequila line can be cut so that player would speculate
for mequila cross to be found so deep inside messmer's castle should imply at least, that they are on somewhat of a good term for Messmer to allow miq to wander around I guess, so it just fromsoft trying to obscure things and left us clues.
I thought that Mesmer was wondering how we are here and when we came back in the cutscene.
Sir Ansbach is my favourite NPC in the whole game..I have his armour..what a chore that was..but yeh it looks awesome 👍
