Atari Pong - setting up the infinite paddle position and then burning that image into the family TV CRT.

My dad had many game systems over the years, up to the PS2. He had a PS2 game that was a collection of intellivision games. It was interesting playing that at the time when I was playing games like Metroid Prime and the like.

I remember being jealous of someone who had an intellivision and an odyssey back in the early 80s. But Atari was still a good system with lots of fun games.
Post-script: I think Colecovision stole their controller ideas from intellivision.

      Yeah, I can see that.
Every time I see the name Colecovision, my brain changes it to Bolecovision, the fictional game company from Code Monkeys (Which was obviously a parody of Colecovision)

I love how happy this video made you. Could hear the nostalgia in your voice, and it was adorable. 💚

I've never played Intellivision or Atari games. I didn't start gaming until 2016 so for me nostalgia means Life is Strange and Assassin's Creed II.
I check out older games from time to time. I played Jedi Acadamy twice and enjoyed it. Sometimes I have trouble getting the older games to run.
I bought an older RPG named Septerra Core: Legacy of the Creator. That was a mess that didn't even run. Something to do with how the cutscene video files were saved and bundled in the engine stopped them from running, and the mouse simply didn't work. Fortunately there was a forum where some passionate fan got it working and provided the files to drop in the install directory. I only barely started the game but it looks like it's running smooth now.

Intellivision was better all around than the Atari on a technical level. I just hated the controller. Maybe I was so much more used to the Atari joystick. I dunno. Funny, I loved the Atari port of Q*Bert, and this is the first time I've ever seen what it looks like on Intellivision. I guess it drives the point home.
In a way, this is like when Sega bounced out on consoles and started making games for Nintendo consoles (among others). It's kind of weird. The difference is I was pretty much on the Atari end of things as a kid, so this doesn't hit at all, whereas I was a diehard Sega guy during the Master System and Genesis days, and have a mild doomer moment every time I see the Sega logo on a Nintendo game. 😆

Old game company buys other old game company something something Cute-thulu dances to 4bit Heman music something something “games were better in my day.”

basicly they both went broke and instead of going bankrupt they melded there resources. it is good to see them continue on. Without these companies i couldnt see gaming ever happening
