Yeah Yamaha got lazy and didn't want to rework the R6 engine to pass emissions test. The "R7" should not he classified as an R series bike at all. False advertising if you ask me by Yamaha.
@CHRGITUP and so do you think the r3 shouldnt be an r either? The r7 is apart of the r series because it is a sport bike. And the r7 was never ment to compete and replace the r6, although there timing and advertising of the bike was definitely miss leading, the r9 will definitely be the actual replacement for the r6. With the r7 being a good beginner to intermediate level bike
The R3 was made firstly for the track for the lower class series... so yes the R3 should be and is in the right category for the R series. You won't see anyone winning anything with the "R7" imo lol

@@samtorok8884 the yzf R9 will be fast but i dont think its gonna have that top end torque at 10,000rpm like the R6 did
