    I was just out near Wabasha yesterday and the topwater bite was insane! Truly is a hard fishery to beat - the Mississippi that is. Great video as always!

    Last year, I went out on Big Muskego Lake for the 1st time. It's really just a big marsh--very shallow.
    My friend grabbed a plastic frog from his box that was at least 50 years old. He pitched it into the Lilly pads and BAM! He got hit...and bit off by a pike. Fortunately, he had another frog & I had heavier line for a stronger leader. He got a mix of LM & Northerns. It was a fun day!

      @AnglerX  7 днів тому

      The pike can be very hard on a frog supply! I like catching pike but man it can get expensive.

    Im looking for a late 50s to earn 60s Alumacraft 16' FD. I have been on a lot of water from small to big in the f7's. Be nice to have the reinforced transom and larger motor. Id be willing to hit Michigan and Superior again. TIGHT LINES ALL

    Do you have any tips for running a 30 to 50 hp tiller around on pool 4 late into the season? My Evinrude looks similar to the one in your old vids 😉.. thanks for the great work👍

    • @AnglerX
      @AnglerX  7 днів тому

      If you have a jack plate or trim that can be adjusted on the fly that is a big advantage for shallow backwaters. It doesn't guarantee that you won't hit anything, but it helps.

    Two questions: How many times have you hooked yourself and what's the minimum gear ratio for a frogging reel cause i do find the bass can dive down a bit with my set up? Be there in early Oct but with a torn Rotator cuff...might try a sunfishing with Dad on the Lake.

    • @AnglerX
      @AnglerX  7 днів тому

      I have never been hooked...knock on wood. I like a minimum of 7:1 gear ratio. It's also important to have a heavy to medium heavy rod with 50lb or heavier braid. Also, crank down on the reel drag so that there is no slippage.
