ABSOLUTELY awesome! I was thinking about heading out that way for some topwater action and boy did this video seal the deal for me. You guys put the hammer down!
I fish the Mississippi every weekend on pool 9 and I’ve always wanted to try a Carolina rig with a top water frog in front of a wingdam to see if a walleye would eat it. Cleaned some walleyes a few falls ago the were full of leapord frogs.
Did i see you throw both a regular frog and also a popper version? If so, what makes you prefer one over the other? Also, I noticed you often times will just straight retrieve the frog without rod action. I really like the snagproof, but may have to look into the Booyah cause like said, the pike and bowfin absolutely destroy a frog. I did quite well this weekend froggin' the backwaters of Pool 4. Thanks again for another great video.
There is a popp’n pad crasher as well. I didn’t throw one but Neil did. In thick matt they aren’t great but when there is more open water they are good because of the addition of popping sounds like you’d get from a popper.
More Frogging! Check out my latest video on the Piscifun Channel! ua-cam.com/video/U4Eki8KCk0E/v-deo.htmlsi=siMzbgKWaf0A1NEN
Thanks Lance. I was amazed to see that walleye eat the frog in the shallow weeds.
You and me both!

It was a fun day! I love that area of the Mississippi River. So much water to explore!

Thats interesting! Walleye do like frogs!
Earlier this year i caught a walleye on the zman hellraizer so im not surprised
I once caught a walleye on a popper as well. This was my first frog walleye but not my first topwater walleye.
Walleye on a frog!?! Wow.
Not a pattern but it did happen.

You didn’t get out on lake ona in the high water then because fishing was. Better for bass when it was high in my opinion I did very well
I fished Lake Ona earlier in the spring and caught a bunch of pike. This video is a different pool.
Iv caught walleyes on live frogs. Lol
I’ll bet walleye love live frogs!
What pool are you on??
He is up in weaver bottoms in Mn
🤣..nearly beheaded your buddy..
It’s not safe when I’m fishing a frog.
Do you think those visible weedlines your fishing would hold perch too?
Yes! The perch tend to gravitate towards the eel grass edge with a bit of flow. I did see eel grass while we were fishing.
