Exactly. And that's the case with most other transforming vs non transforming figures. The transformation factor takes away from the body shape dynamics. I prefer the transformation ones regardless of how less sharp they look in body proportions because that's the main purpose of transformation figures/characters. One line that does both things quite well is the Macross dx chogokin line, they are very sharp and detailed in every aspect.
All of my robots Voltes V, Mazinger Z, Grendaizer, Voltron Go Lion, Voltron Dairuger are all Bandai Soul of Chogokin... It's Pricey but its worth every penny
Ok hands down the main selling point to me is the fact foul of chogokin by Bandai transforms just like the original toy we ‘80s kids remember. I am glad I watched this comparison video and sealed my decision forever; and just as I was just discovering the titan power brand of Voltron on eBay and elsewhere. So excited about my smart investment on the Bandai gx71.
Great review man and thank you for making this video. Great compare and contrast with both. I do get your point on the leg articulation on the soc, but golion was never known for doing sidekicks in the show(dairugger, on the other hand😃). All and all though it's all to the person's preference.
I'm SO happy with my Titan Power. The SoC would be great to have but since I have the 30th Anniversary Voltron, which looks similar, I was hype for TP.
I'm a fan of the Titan power's aesthetics. Even if I had the SOC Id never not have it in Voltron form, so while the individual cats is cool, it would ultimately prove useless. The only cool thing would to have 2 sets and have the separate lions surrounding Voltron, but alas Bandai's (and pretty much any other companies) Voltron would be too costly to consider for this scale. Heck, cost alone is another winning factor for me. Now there have been teasers of a more primal looking voltron (coming from China I'm assuming) that looks promising and will have the individual lions (which look cooler then the voltron (or whatever name they will call it) they form).
The blue bandai logo, the back page survey from the 2016 edition isn't there anymore, and underneath the display stand, it says DreamWorks instead of world events productions. No real difference on the golion itself but it does feel to me that the locks are easier to lock in the shoulders.
Does your GX-71 having issue with blue and yellow lions front legs being a bit loose when tapping the paws? Are there any fixes to tighten the tension for the front legs?
i do appreciate anime aesthetics (long legs short torso small head) but the head on the titan got beetle juiced hahaha for the fun factor tho since it don't transform I wish they would have made this figure at a smaller scale..
@@KumaStyle I have the SOC and thought the head was a little on the small side which was fine for me b/c I hate big headed figures but looking at it side by side in the vid the TP's head is even smaller than the SOC... but I understand judgement is diff when you actually have on hand and see up close

Even though it's definitely a reason to buy one over the other this is more about which is the better actual product.
I would only go for the SOC for the accessories and lion combiner feature. other than those, it's TP all-day.
