I still watch Open All hours before I go to bed, It's simply a classic. Something really nice about this sitcom, it relaxes me so much. Makes me laugh and is the best antidepressant ever. Sometimes you need to laugh when life becomes so stressful. God bless Ronnie and his crew.
The word genius is thrown around too easily these days, but Ronnie Barker was a genius, Porridge and Open all Hours were genius, Two Ronnie's were genius too... Comedy today is not a patch on the 70's and 80's
Ronnie was not only David Jason's mate, he was our mate as well..and so are all the other great guys appearing in this video...the sound of laughter is the sweetest music you'll ever hear!....thanks for posting!
What’s sad is we never heard a peep of this in the USA. Ronnie Barker was a comic legend. Porridge, Open All Hours, and of course The Two Ronnie’s. British comedy just can’t be beat 👍
I highly recommend "Still open all hours". It's a follow-on made in recent years with David Jason reprising his role as Granville, who now owns the shop, and a couple of the other original actors in the same roles, with some younger supporting cast.
I bet they are laughing in heaven, (for those who believe) the like of these 2 as a comedy duo will never be bettered. Plus Ronnie Barker in Porridge and Open all Hours. Just can't be beaten.
I was born just after, " Open all hours ". And I don't live in the UK . But now I am really enjoying the show . I really think it's funny . I heard about it while in England just a while ago . So happy I did
I don't think there is a word that could be used that would do Ronnie barker justice , for his comedy genius, a word you could use, but it would still fall short , for his immense contribution to British comedy cannot be overestimated.
Unfortunate that if two men tried to do a show like Two Ronnies in UK today they would be thrown in jail. Britain has become a miserable place without such comedy.
I can't say Ronnie Barker was the best, that would seem like Ronnie Corbett was not considerred. The two together wre without doubt, the best there ever was. Individually they were unbeatable. Sadly no matter how great they are, we still have to say goodbye. When people who have been an important part of your life, goodbyes are always hard.
Most of his ilk have left us and with their passing and the memories of them receed so departs the knowledge of what it was and is to be British. This would all mean nothing to so many now living in the UK which is means a loss of culture, continuity and belonging.
Halcyon I do feelt hat new comedians feel they have to come up some thing new and more daring which usually means more crude. I suppose in way I feel privileged to have grown up during the 70 and 80s
The Two Ronnies, just the very best of British comedy - as good today as it was 40 years ago ! So many fantastic memories from the 70's of watching their programme and crying with laughter - just the BEST x
Ah yes The Two Ronnies was without doubt one of the best of British comedies. They both gave us all many many laughs which will always be a part of us. After watching the Bafta Awards after many years of not seeing him or knowing much about his retirement, he certainly looks well enough and has lost a bit of weight, but now know he was having heart problems... such a shame he couldn't have had heart surgery as 76 years old is too young to die. Now Ronnie Corbett has gone leaving us with such an empty feeling, I miss them both so much.
I love the Gerald Wiley story - they received scripts from “Gerald Wiley” and Barker asked Corbett what he thought, Corbett said how much does he want? Barker said oh, £100 if we use them. OK said Corbett, pay him £100 each for them. It was some years after that Ronnie B told Ronnie C that, in fact, it was he who was Gerald Wiley!
From memory I think Ronnie B only revealed to Ronnie C and the Two Ronnies crew that he was Gerald Wiley on the same xmas 1987 night out in (I think) a curry house in which he also revealed to them that the Two Ronnies special they had just filmed would be the last as he was retiring from showbusiness.
So thankful now for Internet TV where I can get to see and discover these wonderful British comedians and their shows here in the U.S. Oh, if I could have only gotten to watch these shows as a kid! In the U.S. the only British shows we got was Benny Hill, Are You Being Served? and Flying Circus.
What a talent and stepped in when Richard Beckinsale tragically died, for his family. A genius and how lucky we were to have Corbett and Jason alongside. Brings a tear to my eye and then I look at his work and the laughs still come. Dear God. The Ministry of Mispronunciation - I think he is negotiating Brexit.
We love you Ronnie berker you'll be terribly missed n your excellent comic sketches side by side w Ronnie corbett we had a might good laugh not a boring moment ever thank you both !!!! 😮😮😅😅😊😊😊😊

Now little Ronnie's gone to join him in Comedy Heaven. They changed the world with their talent. Loved and missed RIP
SO missed think about them two all the time how much laughter & joy they brought to this world
He was the best wordsmith of our time bar Shakespeare, Les Dawson, and Keats. The poetry of the Earth is never dead, it lives on. RIP Ronnie.
The Bafta clip makes me cry, bless him. Three of THE BEST of British comedy! Fond memories of my childhood in the 70's watching The Two Ronnies!
Sophie Gafney me too 😀
Fantastic proper family entertainment. Miss them all
How on earth can you keep a straight face? Everyone who worked with the Barker deserves an oscar. Xxxxxxxx

Their comedy duo is something that can never be repeated, Rest In Peace the two Ronnie’s! Ronnie Barker (2005), Ronnie Corbett (2016).
It still makes me cry
Absolute LEGEND loved him, especially porridge and open all hours!!!
Both gone now sadly. Barker was larger than life, Corbett was a wee funnyman
I love him in open all hours such a brilliant actor sadly gone 💗💔
Rip m8, thanks for all your work, rippa stuff!
Just discovered. ( Open All Hours ) and a love for this Barker character and a great n n new show to watch in America 🇺🇸 where we live free or Die.
Greatest sitcom actor ever. A proper entertainer. I can't even watch the new 'Open All Hours'. Ronnie made that show what it was.

The classic four candles / handles for forks sketch, I was laughing, it was so funny and still is.
The greatest double act of all time far funnier than Morecambe and wise
With the sole exception of the Andre Previn sketch, yes.
Far far funnier!
Morecambe was the real funny man. Wise was nothing without him!. At least the 2 Ronnies did solo acts.
