TCL C825 Mini LED TV review with PS5 gameplay

- Опубліковано 6 чер 2024
- The TCL C825 mini-LED TV is a fantastic TV for content consumption. It can get very bright, delivering a very good HDR experience while retaining good details in dark areas. It has very good colour reproduction for SDR content as well. While the colours aren’t as accurate as of the Sony X90J for example, they do a very good job for real-world content consumption. Most people will be very satisfied with the colour reproduced by the TCL C825. The TV has very good sound output. It also comes with two HDMI 2.1 ports with support for 4K at 120Hz, VRR and ALLM, making it a great TV for those looking to play games on a PS5 or Xbox Series X on this TV. Sadly, only two of the four HDMI ports support HDMI 2.1, one of which is eARC enabled. The only place where the TV falters is with inconsistencies and bugs in the UI. But if you invest in a device like a Fire TV Cube or Apple TV, then you can expect an immersive experience when consuming content on this TV. The 65-inch TCL C825 is priced at Rs 1,49,990 as of writing this review, making it about Rs 40,000 cheaper than the Sony 65-inch X90J. It is also cheaper than the LG 65-inch C1 OLED TV by Rs 1 lakh approx, as of writing this review and considering the price of the TCL C825, it is definitely a value for money proposition when it comes to picture performance.

Your reviews always standout from usual spec reading reviews 👌
Great review! You go deep into all of main features of the product 👌
Awesome work!
Amazing video. Very informative as always. The way you narrate it is amazing.
Was waiting for this. Finally!!
Hi Digit Team - Now,You are making me addicted to your reviews.
As usual, another great technical review with proper quantitative analysis from Digit. Meanwhile other Indian youtube reviewers, reviews the tv as if its a smartphone. They only mention the cpu and ram and call it a day :D
Thank you!
I brought 5 months back. It's a really nice TV.
😀👍🏻 Thanks for the review
Technical and detailed review, thanks
This is one of the best review of TV in India. Unlike others spitting TV specs in name of review you really pointed out all the aspects of TV.
Great review!!!
Very good review, I have the c825 55, the only gripe is limited sound settings, the voice channel is quiet, using PS5 with Netflix, xbox series X, the inbuilt google tv, the background noise is much louder than the voice. If I use an Apple TV device it's quiet good, just disappointing that I can't really the in built google tv. Also google tv is a bit laggy.
Also just to add my remote has the media controls on it, play, pause etc I'm based in Hong Kong maybe the remote is different per country. I don't have the Prime Video button, but have the Netflix one. Also I got two remotes a longer one with numbers and a short one without.
Great review
This is such a great content and effort you are putting in kudos, biggest gripe is 60fps video with alteast 2k resolution, kindly upgrade your content quality, lots of useless reviews out there maintains that quality, this should not go vein.
Thank you for the review. Liked and Subscribed. I hope you can also review the TCL C725.
Hey man, just stumpled on this review. Great btw. I was just wondering is this review of out of the box pre settings or have you done some calibration with it?
I just found your channel....great review :)

@@Digit Yes I have :)
Hi nice review but if u want to stress on the blackness of the panel could u make some shots in dark. So people would know the ability of the Panel. Thanks if u read this and cheers.
A really great review, I would like to ask one question
I'm in the market of a new TV, which would you recommend
This one 65" (C825)
Samsung 65Q70A
With both at the same price now of USD1250 ?
Would like an answer .
Love the review mate, I purchased this tv in Australia and it is a great tv....your right about nearly everything about this tv. The UI is the worst thing about it, it's glitches. Just a little tip for anyone who gets this tv....if you experience glitches, just power cycle the tv from the wall plug. Seems to resolve issues quickly that way. Also from what I can gather this tv seems to be using the TCL R625 screen from the US models....not the latest but a very good TV.
Hey Nelson I'm in Aus thinking of getting the 85 model, how do you find colours? They look very washed out in this video, I'm gonna call around jb or Harvey see if any are on display
@@dahteddybear328 colours are awesome, this video is not great. The tv is close to near OLED, not OLED but near that. Check prices brother online, I managed to get the 55" $600 cheaper. Got from good guys...not sure about Harvey's....but JB hi-fi only have 65" and 75". Actually come to think of it Australia doesn't get the 85" inch model. Australia gets a lot more models than what you see on the showroom floors, if you want the latest and greatest I believe TCL have just released the C925 already. Check out the TCL Aus website. But the tv is great, any other questions just reply to this post, will get back to you as soon as I can.
@@dahteddybear328 just checked 85" is available at $6500 from TCL website...can be ordered at good Guys...at that price though not sure if you could find a better equivalent from the other brands. But tv is great as good as the others just not better.
@@dahteddybear328 85" TCL c825 $5177 appliances Online as of today. The colours like the video said are great.
Where did you find out about it using a same screen to the R625?
Super review:) when can we expect lg oled c1 review?
Considering 55" c825 is available at 1,04,000/- on amazon, and even the sony x85j is the same price. Which of the two would you recommend
A great review as always. Will you guys also review the C725? Love the vids❤️
We shall try!
Great review only real tv reviewers in India.
How good are blacks/local dimming on this set? I see complaints in some reviews that there's a lot of blooming. Is it good alternative to OLED for daytime watching and in moderately illuminated room?
Obrigado ,comprei uma ,forte abraço.
Hi! Does it have airplay for iphone?
Great review!
I waited for a proper Indian review for ages but bought the Sony X90j 65” yesterday during the sale for close to 1.55L after discounts and cashback.
I rest my case now 😀
Thanks for the exhaustive review anyway team Digit

Great reviews! I am current with tclr635 should I upgrade to 825 for hdmi2.1? Just for 70% playing ps5 and 30% Netflix thx tho
I saw your review on the Xiaomi Q1 75",
Which should I buy for movies only?
Netflix and streaming with good SDR and upsalcaling.
75" Q1 or this Tcl 65"?
Or maybe the Hisense U8qf 65" ?
I really want 75" and thats why I'm thinking the Q1 but I'm afraid that the SDR will be bad with no good up scaling?
Please, I need to order tomorrow, thanks.
Great review! Finally a professional review of this TV. I've just got one question. Which one would you recommend as a everyday-used TV no matter the price difference. As everyday use I mean some Netflix, some sport, not really gaming, medium-bright room). Sony X90J vs TCL C825 vs Samsung qn85?
Sony X90J
w TCL C825 lepszy HDR max 1400 vs 800 nitów , lepsza czerń i znacznie lepsze nagłośnienie z lepszym basem! troszkę niedomagające oprogramowanie w porówaniu di do SONY X90J. Oba są warte rozważenie.

Are there 2 versions of this model? Mini LE D& Qled?
Hello there.
I have a question for you.
samsung 65qn90a or tcl 65c825?
(Both prices are the same in Turkey!)
I would be glad if you answer.
Since the subwoofer is back firing and placed at the back of the TV, how does it perform when the TV is wall mounted that is only a few millimeters gap between the TV subwoofer and the wall. I can't see the subwoofer working well so close to the wall. thank you
Hello! In my country, only his C825 is currently available and not the C835. Do you think this is a better overall TV compared to the Sony X90K? Without regarding the price point, that is.
I own TCL C 825 mini LED 65 and I confirm what the reviewer has said. It is the best review you can define the TCL C825, thank you for your great work!
Would you still recommend getting it now or is there a better one out there? (I'm looking for a 65 inch tv)
@@secondopinion89 .. there is no other mini LED tv available in this price tag. Nevertheless, if you are looking for a bigger tv with Q DOT technology then you may go for MI QLED 75 it is a decent tv with good picture quality...
@@bhatriaz i was tempted by it but got nervous about shelling out more than a lakh on an Mi with untested reliability and after sales. Just felt like a risk for the money. But yes on paper, great specs.
@@secondopinion89 ...TV's like MI and TCL in India always use 3rd party service providers, these 3rd party service providers are equally trained as samsung or LG guys and in the most cases these are the same people who are providing services to brands like LG and Samsung... I am using TCL and MI TV's for a year now so far no complaints ...on the other hand i have a samsung tv which I used hardly got a problem and since 6 months the service centre is unable to fix it says the part is not available... So when it comes to service there is nothing like black and white...
@@bhatriaz Good to hear this feedback
Good review, I think this should be compared to Samsung NeoQled QN90A as well.
Samsung has higher dimming zones and peak SDR and HDR brightness.
Finally a proper review
I wanna say that, but the fact he's hyping features that are clearly false. Look at these colours so amazing "shows ghost of tsushima" why does it look so washed out
Sir, i am looking forward to buy a 43 inch 4k tv. From hisense A71F and tcl p725 which one is better? Or any other option that falls under 35k?
Hey great review. Do you plan to review the c728? I hear it's a proper gaming tv and a little cheaper. It might be good for some people who primarily want to game.
We will surely try!
This TV in the UK doesn't have dynamic tone mapping. Will this make much of a difference?
Do you have any suggestion for an alternative to Samsung QN90A, I received a defective piece from the dealer and they are unable to replace due to non-availability,
what about reflection on the screen? @05:29 we can see what is in front of the TV and behind the camera.
Can u suggest this tv is after sale service is bad as per review and can we install third party. Apps on this I read some. We're only. Preloaded app will work
Had this screen been colour calibrated for the review?
Great quality review guys 👍, very rare to see reviews on tv like this. Can you compare lg oled c1 vs Sony oled a90j ? Which is better one to buy ? ( apart from price point of view )
Sony isn’t launching the A90J in india. So, not sure if we’ll get our hands on it.
@@Digit sorry I miss typed it, actually I meant Sony oled a80j, when you will do review on it? waiting eagerly 😊

Which one is better VU masterpiece or TCL C825 ? I know both are two different categories but now priced with 10k difference. But, just want to understand colours, crispness & bright display point of view
. Also, how is it better compared to LG C1 oled or samsung neo qled ?
Please Review Q70A
Does it have motion interpolation? I kinda like what some people call, the soap opera effect.
Can you suggest which to buy? Currently I am getting this TV at 1.05 lakh for 55 inch variant and Sony x90J 55 inch at almost same price. My priories are picture quality and deep pure blacks
Hello....Which is better ? Sony 90J full array led panel or this tv?
Hi. As of now TCL 65c825 is prices at 1.40 lac and Sony 65x90j I am getting at 1.50 lac. Which is a better buy?? Is mini led that good??

Jaundice, lol. It's true though, some tv do exhibit colors like that. Great review as always, keep it up. Are there any improvements in TCL service lately? from what I heard it was really bad and lot of customers were turned off because of that.
Unfortunately, after-sales service is something, we cannot comment on as we haven't investigated
Not bad, but not good either...I have purchased this tv and had a small issue with it...called customer service and they fixed some of the issues over the phone, so that was good. They were supposed to send a service man to investigate another issue, but that hasn't happened yet. This tv is brilliant for the price, but not perfect.
@@nelsonmendes7551 This is the exact reason why I stopped myself from buying this TV, instead I'm thinking about getting LG C1 now as their technician come to your house within 1 day and in the past I got entire panel replaced due to backlight bleeding at my home. It was a really great customer service experience I had from any electronics manufacturing company.
@@theninadkumthekar fair enough....but with customer service like that you would be shunning every other brand as well, as that is exceptional service. I would venture to say, you would be very hard pressed to get that service from anyone else.

Any idea if Hisense U7G & U8G models will be available in India as those are best budget TVs for gaming?

How is the performance of this TV with PC?

Is the reflection handling of the panel in dark scenes that bad for a brightly lit room?

Hello Sir, how to connect to 5ghz wifi band? I can only see 2.4ghz wifi but not 5ghz wifi.

Edit:
If anyone has wifi 5ghz band connection problem then check the settings in router. You have to enable 802.11k support and 802.11v support from wlan 5ghz advanced settings.
This resolved my issue.
В режиме vrr есть мерцание экрана при поворте камеры в игре!незнаю что делать
I've just bought this TV and have attempted to play at 4k 120hz on ps5 but when doing so it runs at a lower resolution/ more blurry picture . Did you have this issue at all?
What game did you try?
This is because of VRR. If You disable it you'll have fully 4K 120hz. But for now, 4k 120hz VRR Lower the resolution for every TV supporting it.. it's a know problem and we hope to get an update soon
Hello sir. I'm from the UK and can now purchase the model c825k. It says on the description it's 100hz although everywhere else i see it's 120hz. Do you know if the model is downgraded in Europe? Thank you and nice video 😊
Not sure if it is downgraded for Europe. But its best to go check the TV out at an offline store. you may be able to check out the specs in detail there.
Thank you for replying, I did some more research and it appears in the UK they sell this as a 100hz TV with only 3xhdmi ports. It's actually unbelievable, whilst looking for info found out that TCL do this on several models! No wonder they don't sell as well over here, it's a shame as I love the look of this TV but won't be ripped off, doubt I would ever buy a TCL with this knowledge so i will stick with LG or Samsung. Is this model similar to R646 available in the USA ?
No....the R625 is a closer version
Amazon is selling x90j for 1.2L, at that price do you still thing tcl is better?
Yes. a better option for colour accuracy, UI and overall performance. the TCL is no slouch, its a better option for those on a tighter budget.
@@Digit you mean sony is better option right if one can extend his budget to 1.2L? Only thing concerning is vrr, sony has pushed out an update to some regions for x90h last year model and it disables the local dimming, there is no point buying buying such an expensive tv if using vrr disables local dimming and ultimately would display bad contrast.
Even samsung high end TVs disable local dimming to display VRR. IN that case, you are better off going for the LG C1 for about the same price. Diwali is just around the corner and you can get a killer deal in the offline market on LG OLEDs. even if you get the CX at a very good price, you are getting a value for money TV.
Screen seems quite reflective
It’s also the camera enhancing the reflections.
😇 👍 👌 👏
It seems your reviews are paid, you said X90J is very good at colour accuracy, it's actually worst at colour contrast and gamut. I've just checked comparison of X90J and sony 900 E on whisper status channel, huge difference in colour contrast, gamut and black levels. 900e is absolutely stunning compared to x90j
The real question is.... have you seen it for yourself?
@@Digit just wondering why only your channel appreciating x90j, other UA-camr like quantum TV consider this model x90j as garbage.
I also noticed lion looks white in bright scene 🤣 in x90j and in other tv it looks bit brown. I changed my decision and never go for x90j.
Of course I haven't seen it yet, I'm gonna
We appreciate your feedback! Also, you are watching the content play out on YT with YT's compression and people shoot content with a camera that may not be able to capture the full dynamic range of the content being displayed. So yes, it's important to listen to what the reviewer is saying. I highly recommend you go and experience the TV for yourself if you can. help an enthusiast like youself get a better idea. :-)
The colours seem so washed out in some shots, is it the camera?

Definitely an upgrade
How it compares with Sony X85J.both are almost at same price
For panel performance, go with TCL. for everything else, Sony.
Can be subjective....the panel performance for these TV's is pretty equal. In some areas one will be better then in others the reverse happens. Where the TCL wins is the overall package as a whole....the tie breaker is price and the built in sound bar is outstanding, much better than the Sony.
And how is it compared to the 65" lg c1 oled? I believe the lg is better
It’s OLED so obviously is better
