2017 Kawasaki KLX140G | First Impression | TransWorld Motocross

  • There’s nothing better than loading up your truck and heading off to the track for a fun day of riding with your buddies. However, for those that are new to the sport, something like a 125 two-stroke or 250 four-stroke might seem a little intimidating at first. In an effort to bridge that gap and get everyone riding, Kawasaki released the brand-new 2017 KLX140G. For the average motocrosser, the KLX140G is mostly just a giant pit bike. It’s fun to mess around on and have a good time. That’s exactly why it’s perfect for the first timers. The power is super mellow and controllable, and with the bigger wheel size, it’s the perfect height for an average adult.
    Last week we actually had the opportunity to play around on the 2017 KLX140Gs out at the Wildomar OHV park in Wildomar, California, and to our surprise, we had a blast. So, hear what we had to say.

      I have this bike and it sucks, it has no power and the large wheels dont help its power delivery to the ground.

      Stuart Luig it’s not meant for power, it’s a bike designed for adults to ride with their kids. It’s a full size bike at a much more affordable cost than the only other option for most adults which would be something like a 250 which are pretty expensive.

      @@stuartluig2911 if you wanted a bike around the size of of klx 140g. Get a crf150rb it has loads of power for the size and can get the back tire spinning no problem and you can go to the track or the trails doesn't matter. For me I got the klx140L and its just the perfect balance or weight and power haven't even put the bigger jets in the carb either I love the bike I race around with my friends and I can keep up with 100cc 2 strokes. I want to go to the track this summer and see how good it is competing in a race with other people but I love the bike

    • @lisamontgomery2651
      @lisamontgomery2651 4 роки тому +1

      Justin Tilao you can’t use this for motocross, you would be getting blown away by 65s and 85s easily. It’s set up for a trail. You know, very soft suspension, no preload adjustments or preload of any kind. It has power and torque on the low end for trails. You would be better off with a Yz85 or if you need something big but in similar price range as well as a 4 stroke, get a Yz125f or a crf125. Those are much more suitable for motocross. This would be the same as taking a TTR125l on a track lol

      @@lisamontgomery2651 the klx 140 wouldn't get blown away by the 65 or the 85cc strokes I have a klx140L and I can blow pass them with the speed this bike carries through corners with the weight it has this bike is very happy lugging down low or revving high with the 5 gears it has this bike can't hit the biggest jumps out there but it can handle the same jumps a 65 or an 85 can handle no problem I know from experience bud

    What is the difference between the KLX 140L

    • @da5863
      @da5863 8 років тому +2

      The 140G has a 21in front wheel and 18in rear. The 140L has a 19in front and 16in rear. The increased wheel size has more clearance and can fit tall riders

      Ethan Carney I wouldn’t use it on a motocross track lol. The suspension is going to bottom out a lot and you’ll end up hurting yourself. If you do a little bit of tweaking it should be fine, but also the low end torque will have you getting blown away by a 65 sx and yz85s lol

      Tim Carrender Change the tires and you should be good to go for the most part. Maybe get a slightly smaller sprocket so you get faster wheel turns and less torque. Not necessary to do so tho, just a good set of sand ties will do you wonders.

    All they had to do was bore/stroke it out to a 200~ cc engine but nope, too damn lazy. Lets make a full size bike with a fuckin kids bike motor. Great to learn on, till about 10 minutes after you start riding and can't keep up with your friends. Definitely wouldn't even consider a 225 cc 4 stroke "intimidating" if it is, you should probably skip riding all together.
