  • This is my Arai Corsair-X Nicky-6; the replica graphic worn by Nicky Hayden during the 2015 MotoGP season, his last season in MotoGP. Initially released in 2015, Arai have re-released this iconic graphic from the beloved rider once again in 2020.
The 2015 MotoGP is probably one of the most exciting seasons in the history of the sport. Marquez had won back to back championships, and dominated in 2014. It was the last year of the Bridgestone tires, and factory ECU’s/software. It was the last year of the Factory and Open classes. And it was the year that Rossi & Marquez tangled, changing the course of their relationship from Big Brother/Little Brother to rivals. The crash Rossi was blamed for (or caused depending where allegiances lay) had him start the season finale from the back of the grid. Rossi finished 4th, Lorenzo won the race and the championship by 5 points.
2015 was the last year Nicky Hayden competed in MotoGP. The term “competed” is a relative one really. That’s because Nicky rode a Open Class bike, riding the Aspar Racing Honda alongside teammate Eugene Laverty. The Open Class machines were “also rans” pretty much, as they were not as competitive as the Factory machines. So while Nicky Hayden didn’t fare well that season in the standings, he fucking killed it with his helmet graphic.
The Nicky-6 graphic is possibly the greatest Arai Corsair-X graphic ever. Nicky’s last graphic with the Corsair-V was a stunner, but that helmet is too old now to wear safely. And the Nicky-6 was initially released in 2015. Well Arai has given the people what they want by issuing it again, because this graphic was sold out nearly everywhere. Wether you had the 2015 version, and want a fresh lid, or never had it before; you need this helmet in your collection.
This helmet is nearly at “Grail Status” because Nicky Hayden has become so beloved since his untimely passing in 2017. Hard to believe it was that long ago. Nicky tragically died succumbing to injuries sustained while being struck by a drunk driver, while riding a bicycle in the Italian hills after the Italian GP WSBK round. Nicky’s popularity and legend has only grown since his death, and rightly so. He was a true champion on and off the track, that truly great talent and human being. R.I.P. Nicky Hayden.
The fluorescent red, the fluorescent metallic green camo, and the Evil Knievel Americana motif. It all works spectacularly. You can wear this lid with ANY bike, with ANY gear, and it will look boss AF. This is a must have for any helmet collection, and any REAL fan of MotoGP from America. Gotta show love for the last American champion, and there might be no better way. Literally this may be the best Corsair-X graphic to date. Definitely top three. Either way, it’s a must have.
The Arai Corsair-X is the top of the line helmet offered by Arai, and it’s a great track helmet with all-day comfort. If you are in the market for a motorcycle helmet, and you have the means, I highly recommend it.
    As always, stay fresh.
