You have some people who will criticize the idea of believing that he could’ve used another year at USC. We have to remember that the main objective for players leaving early in the past was always that they were trying to make it to the league and get paid before suffering any potential career debilitating injuries. Well, N.I.L. changed that. That’s the one immediate benefit N.I.L. provided to college athletics that people sometimes overlook. I’m pretty sure Bronny wouldn’t have attended USC unless he had some decent N.I.L. deal. And it wasn’t as if he was from a struggling family trying to hurry up and get to the league to take care of them. I’m not even focused on his actual play this far, I’m just analyzing how we even got this point. Then the health scare before the season started and relative lack of production throughout the season, I just believe at least one more year of N.I.L. money and receiving a free education wouldn’t have been the worst thing in the world. I’m sure they could’ve pulled some strings for the Lakers to draft him in the 2nd rd of the 2025 NBA Draft and Lebron likely would’ve still been on the team. Rushing him in early is almost as if they are trying to compare his potential greatness to his dad, and that wouldn’t be fair to Bronny. Let him be the player he was always meant to be, and with whatever franchise truly had their mind set on taking him and working with him to develop his game. I still believe at some point he will grow into being a serviceable player but will take a lot of growing pains and some G-League assignments here and there.
